Back when I didn't have an oven, the crockpot was my "oven". So, prepared all sorts of stews and even tried a tajine dish once. Everything that requires a pot in an oven for slow cooking, a crockpot can do just as well, I think. Chicken/ lamb tajine: 1 tsp of coriander powder 1 tsp of cumin 1 tsp of cinnamon A small bunch…

I don't see why not. Some people even log their walks to and from lunch from their offices. Haha. :blushing:

I've just got my lipid profile after a 6 month weight loss journey and was working on maintaining and even gaining back some (I intepreted that as "license to eat!" ) and was told my cholesterol was high. My HDL's 69 and LDL's 154. So, the doctor's told me to watch my processed food intake and eat more…

Woops, sorry, too big.

My favorite toppings on oatmeal... Kiwi fruit (golden kiwi to be exact), walnuts, raisins, pumpkin seeds and flax seeds and maple syrup. Yum!

Bumping this for when I get home. Thanks!

I swim. :flowerforyou:

Well, my two cents and I could be wrong. I work out early mornings with just a mug of coffee with milk to perk me up. And then I'll have breakfast when I reach my office. I don't think it matters much when we workout, just as it doesn't really matter when we eat. The key to losing weight is calorie deficit. And I find that…

I eat that almost everyday. Haha. But, generally, chinese restaurants tend to splurge on their sodium, so watch out for that. In fact, try to avoid foods with a lot of sauces. Go for steamed fish, tofu and stir fried veges. And drink loads of water or tea. One thing I've noticed chinese restaurants tend to do... they deep…

Dark chocolate. Definitely dark chocolate.

Swimming. Am close to goal weight of 121lbs (a kilogram away) but its MFP's "estimate" for my 95 minutes of swimming (I try to swim as fast as I can without stopping my laps for more than the few seconds of defogging my goggles), so yeah... not sure if the burn is truly that high. This morning, it said 888 cals.

I take whey.. Usually as a post workout "mousse" as I mix it in Greek yogurt. Delicious as breakfast. And yes, it helps with recovery. You won't bulk up. Don't worry. Try to get a day or two of HIIT in. That's an awesome fat buster. And calorie deficit. Best of luck with your regime!

Here's some pictorials of what I throw in mine, I love food porn haha: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/gooiyw For low carb, just don't add the starches.

A big mug of coffee (with milk) for me. That way, I can't go back to sleep. LOL!

Definitely! In fact, since you're doing both, do BOTH! Look up High Intensity Interval Training that incorporates sprinting and brisk walking. Great fat burner.

You could always change your mind as you assess yourself throughout your journey. I'm currently at 125-126 lbs (at 5'4.5"). I intend to stay a while at this weight as I work on muscle development although I had set my GW a tad lower (121lbs). Best of luck to you. :flowerforyou:

I pack my lunch and breakfast the night before. Up at 5am, a mug of coffee with milk, then off to the gym or pool by 6am (it opens then), finish and off to work at about 7.30am. Traffic is hell, so sometimes I don't reach the office until 9am and that's when I have my breakfast, usually greek yogurt with a scoop of…

Have children cooking class with them. With healthy foods. Make sweet potato chips or carrot fries or some vege ragu to go with pasta. Should kill about an hour or so and then get everyone to eat healthier. And then, get them to make a cold jug of lemonade for the heat outside, bring all that food (and drink) and have a…

Hi Sach, I'm a crack-of-dawner and yes, it's at 5am over at my timezone as well. 3 kids and working full time forced that on me, but once in a while (like for the next few days for instance), I've had to change my workout time to the evenings (that also means getting home later than the kids would like me to). I do a…

But I'd be really hungry...

Let me try... Oh well crap.

Tweak your carb/protein ratio. Up your proteins and lower your carbs. Yes, plus lots of water and rest.

I don't think it's so much what to eat after a swim. If you've been swimming that often (and I have in the recent past), chances are, this workout is getting too easy for you. Believe me, I actually found swimming very relaxing... not to mention, it then becomes perceptively "a good workout" because MFP then tells me I've…

I'm 5'4.5" and I'm aiming for about 120lbs, not to be skinny (I want to be toned! ), but more to lose that mommy pouch I've had since I've had my kids. Currently at 130lbs and that pouch is slightly smaller but still there :grumble: . I've read on the forums that the belly is the last to go, and to work on…

I pack my breakfast to work everyday after gym too! Love every bit of it. (And I photograph it for kicks lol!). Here, have a look: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/gooiyw
