If you enter a recipe and say it's for 4 people, a 1/4 is one portion. So if you eat 1/2 you had 2 portions. Or do you not put any number into the slot there?

^ This. Each time I cook I just exchange the few items that are different if it's basically the same. I also cook by 'feel' more than measurement but have started to simply measure before I put it in. Rather than put in how much it says I see how much I take and put that in. Does that make sense?
