  • Wow! That is a brilliant transformation. Stats are very similar to mine, so we're both awesome! My problem is I have no decent 'before' photos to do the photo collage thing! Keep up the good work. I'd like to follow your progress, so have sent FR.
  • How's it going with that last sone. I'm here every day and am happy to help if I can. FR sent.
  • I agree with everything sijomial says - we have been MFPs for a while and he has been incredibly helpful with is sage advice, as I settle into near-maintenance mode. My first target weight was around 190, having only started at about 215. I got to 190 and was still fat and unhappy with my appearance. I went on to lose…
  • Great thread. I'm maintaining at the moment having reached my goal using MFP over past 18 months. I am going to try to shed another 3 or 4 lbs so look forward to adding them in when they're gone. Friend requests happily received from anyone who wants my support ... the more the merrier!
  • Somerset-born, 40 something Dad, husband of GirlGuide-leading wife here. Lost my target 3.5 stone on here over past 1.5 years, so happy to help.
  • Sending FR now. I'm maintaining after reaching my goal with MFP over the past 18 months.
  • Please feel free to add me and laugh at my diary. I don't eat especially healthily, but I've lost 3.5 stone to be at my target weight. Religiously consume at least 1 take away per week (i still love food!) I carry every supermarket loyalty card going ... this proves that I have no supermarket loyalty!
  • I'll be happy to help share my limited knowledge. All I know is MFP works best if you're honest with yourself in your diary (weigh your food) and if you find inspiration and support from the community of awesome people on here. Friend request sent. Best if luck with the health and lifestyle changes.
  • Hi Vismal Congratulations on an amazing transformation and thanks for this post and responses ... the best MFP thread I've seen! My question: I started putting on weight and fat when I was about 10 years old and stayed overweight (BMI 30ish) and unfit for the next 30+ years until I started using MFP 16 months ago. I've now…
  • I've had a lot of great ones, but here are a few: # In 12 months I've gone from non-runner to running two half marathons (and a third one booked) # I've just discovered that after a year of regular exercise my resting heart rate is down from 72 to about 45! # I've worn out my first pair of running trainers in 10 months #…
  • Happy for you to add me if you like. I'm 42 y-o male in UK. Lost around 40lbs on MFP and was below my goal weight (since starting properly last February). Put on a few lbs after a lazy festive season, but back on it now. I've actually found weight loss remarkably easy with MFP and am in the best shape of my life having…

  • Happy for you to add me if you like. I'm 42 y-o male in Bridgend (though from across the water in Somerset originally). Lost around 30lbs on MFP and was below my goal weight (since starting properly last February). Put on a few lbs after a lazy festive season, but back on it now. I'm on here very day, logging religiously…

  • I've lost about 40lbs in about 40 weeks. 1lb per week is bang on! I weight nearly everyday and my weight can fluctuate up by at least 4lb during a week (mainly due to water retention after salty foods like my weekly take away curry). This is all about managing your own expectations and sticking with it.
  • I'll be very happy to be part of your network. I've recently reached target/maintenance after 10 months on here with massive help from my great MFP pals (like Mr sdreed25 above!) I'm from Somerset originally, but now over the water in South Wales. Friend request sent.
  • I'm another fan of Endomondo Pro. I can sit for hours staring at my graphs, PBs and other stats!
  • Friend request to follow. Happy to provide support. I've just reached my goal weight of 12st 7lbs after losing 40 odd lbs in total. Provided you track your eating, start moving around a lot more, find a few friends on here and log in regularly, you'll find the weight falls off you. This place (MFP) really works! I look…
  • Happy to be part of your MFP experience! I'll send a friend request now. Btw, I'm from Somerset, but live in South Wales!
  • Friend request sent. Look forward to some mutual support and encouragement!
  • Request sent. Also looking to lose fat %.
  • I too am doing this for myself without much support, but IT WORKS! Today I entered the normal weight/BMI band after being overweight for the past 30+ years. I only had 30-odd lbs to lose, but I did it in just over 6 months by purely following MFP and building up my exercise as I felt able. Have faith in the app, weigh your…
  • I'm lucky in that I can access several good healthy lunch outlets (inc. Pret a Manger which does fantastic low-calorie 'breadless' sandwiches ... if you go easy on the dressing which isn't included in the calorie count), but sometimes do shop at a Tesco Express. They do a few good salad pots (if you avoid the mayo and…
  • Friend request sent. Down the other end of Wales in Bridgend!
  • Just laughed out loud in the office during my lunch break! Thanks for cheering up my day!
  • I still eat 1-2 takeaways a week, but accept these things: 1. I order wisely. For example Indian - avoid creamy sauces, 1 chapati, not stuffed nan, avoid unnecessary starters, esp. deep fried things. Chinese: avoid battered things, go for prawns or chicken in a light sauce. Pizza: thin bases, ask for half the cheese. 2. I…
  • I last remember being a 'normal' weight at around 10 years old. After that I just went podgy and flabby and started hating my body. This physical loathing of myself manifested itself in me being shy with girls and at times pretty depressed. In some ways I'm glad I've always been fairly body conscious as I never let myself…
  • Hi there. Friend request sent. I also eat real food, but have had the odd protein bar after long runs so my calorie deficit isn't too big that day. I've been on here since February and have lost 30+ lbs and am well below my original target weight. I have done this by eating less crap (I'm a recovering crispaholic), but…
  • Friend request sent ... we're in the same boat, only I'm a few months ahead of you and have lost 30lbs. Happy to help you.
  • Wurzel living in Wales-land. Lost over 2st, almost at goal weight and on here many times a day. Request sent. Anyone else please feel free to add me!
