When in Rome (or in this case, France) do as the Romans do! Eat french food!! Don't eat chips and ice cream and crap, you can get that at home!!

That's awesome!!! I can't wait till I'm no longer living a web of lies, too!! :flowerforyou:

Nice job on your loss!! Keep on going, it'll be FABULOUS!!! :flowerforyou:

One word comes to mind: therapy. ((hugs)) Don't be so hard on yourself! :flowerforyou:

Prayers for your family, the donor's family, and the doctors involved with both. AMEN!!

Thanks for this! Going to make them this weekend! :flowerforyou:

It's not that I couldn't "stomach" eating fruit/veggies for a snack before, but my whole mindset was waaay different. "Fruit/veggies for a snack?! COME ON!!! That's a side, an afterthought, not a SNACK! Now, where are those chips/crackers/cookies..." That's how I use to think not too long ago. I've surprised myself with my…

I'm making chicken/onion/laughing cow cheese quesdillas. Serving it with carrots + dip, apples, and baked sweet potatoes.

OMG! Great idea, deviled eggs w/hummus!! Are you asking what should YOU bring to the potluck? If so, bring something like that spinach strawberry salad, maybe put some chunks of chicken in it, raspberry vinaigrette, yum! Or sliced tart apple, whole wheat crackers and either laughing cow cheeses or some good sharp white…

I only count plain ol' water in my water count. I shoot for 104oz per day. BAM!!:drinker:

I had it drilled into me by my high school volleyball coach, drink water like it's going out of style! I also had a pre-term labor scare 2 years ago due to dehydration, and the dr said I should be drinking +100 oz a day (I was drinking maybe 16oz/day at the time). I took that VERY seriously! (even though I'm obviously not…

I recommend: * PLAN!! Make a menu plan and make everything on your day(s) off. * Use your crockpot * Find a microwave you can use * Invest in a good lunch bag, thermos, and pyrex As far as food goes, just pack everything the night before, or better yet divide/pack everything for the week into containers and keep them in…

First of all, thank you for working with special needs children!! I have a 5 year old son who is autistic, so the subject is close to my heart. I know how demanding it can be! :flowerforyou: Do you have a day or two off? If so, this is what I do: I make 1 or 2 recipes for my lunches on my day off and divide it out 5x so…

I love me some Mio!! I don't have it often--like once a week maybe--but some days I just. can't. drink. another. ounce of water!!! I love the peach tea and the energy black cherry (although I don't know what's so "energy" about it). I saw that our Sam's club now carries it in 3-packs. Hmm...now I think I might go make…

Great and entertaining post! Thanks! I JUST saw these in my grocery store (by the tofu) and thought "Hmm...now what the hell are THESE?!" Next week I'm picking them up!! :flowerforyou:

That's a tough one!! I wouldn't skip it, it's a chance to meet with family and visit and have a good time. Make it more of a social event for you and not about the food. If someone has a problem with what's on your plate, just say "I'm fine, THIS is what I want". You don't have to "get your money's worth", that's just an…

This is a great question!! My advice is to be the example. As others have said, you cannot make/force someone into this journey. But you can continue on YOUR journey, let her see the changes in you, and perhaps she will choose to join you in her own way and time. You are now an example to your child as well. BE that good…

I just bought mine last week from a friend who goes to weight watchers meetings. I'm not sure if they sell them there at the meetings or if a friend sells them, but maybe check that out??

SUPER!!! That's a LOT to be proud of!! :flowerforyou:

I LOVE the idea of going to the Magic party and distracting every guy in the place, hehe!!! I will get the perfect Little Black Dress. Perhaps a nice weekend getaway with hubby would be in order, too!

My shopping cart has gone from something I was embarrassed about to something I'm proud of...is that weird?! I have a very small grocery budget, between $50-75 a week for a family of 4, so I have to be frugal and plan. I use to think that meant "unhealthy" but it doesn't! I've made a commitment to having more…

Oh boy...only THREE??!! Not in any particular order: * general tso's chicken, cream cheese wontons, egg rolls, egg drop soup * bacon cheeseburger, fries w/blue cheese on the side, chocolate malt * Red Lobster's cajun shrimp and crab alfredo, biscuits, Boston ice tea, caesar salad * biscuits and gravy ...ok, that's…

A few weeks ago it was my birthday. I gave myself 3 pounds for my 38th birthday...booo!! :grumble: It took me all week to lose it, but by the next week's weigh-in I had lost it plus -.6 . I really worked hard and was diligent about my water intake, that seems to be the key with me. Don't sweat it too much, it'll be gone…

I call mine my "treat day". It's all day on Tuesdays. I find I am much more motivated to stay on track when I can have a day planned to have those treats I don't have during the week. I'm a compulsive overeater. If I start eating a treat I'm not very good at portion control, etc, so I choose to just "save it" for treat…

Thanks for sharing! And thanks for the reminder about spaghetti squash, it's something I always forget about!!:flowerforyou:

I keep a water bottle or two in the car. I drink 20 oz of water easily in the car during my 3 mile commute! I find drinking water in the car is the easiest thing! A bottle on the way to work, a bottle back, 40 oz done without even thinking about it. NICE!! Water at work is a must for me, too. I set a "goal" of oz…

It has always been a big problem for me, and I'll admit I'm always scared I'll slip back into the habit. This is what I do: I allow myself one day a week for snacks, this includes an evening snack I got rid of all of my "trigger foods" When I feel the urge, I take a shower and drink some water. If I *still* feel it, I go…

I LOOOOVE hummus!! Homemade or store-bought. My kids love it, too, some nights it's the only way I can get them to eat their carrots!

Eggs are cheap and you can make a whole bunch of different things. Potatoes and onions, too. The makings for a veggie soup (bouillon, veggies, maybe noodles). Split pea soup is good and cheap to make (dried peas, dried onion soup mix, chicken broth) Peanut butter and bread. I've been there/done that...good luck!!…
