  • I just started stage 2. I didn't really lose any weight(although i wasn't watching my food intake the way i should have been) but i lost like 7 total inches. I'll take it. lol
  • I quit soda completely nearly 6 months ago. I still crave sweets like crazy. But on the upside, nothing but water satisfies my thirst anymore, and sweet drinks(soda, sweet tea, mixed drinks, juice, etc) just taste awful to me now.
  • Hi! My name is Jenny and i turned 30 a couple days ago. Ive been haunting the weight lifting forums for awhile and finally decided to take the plunge and I'm glad I did! I'm about to start week 3 and i'm starting to see results. I work out at home since my husband already had most of the equipment. I still struggle with…
  • I'm a newbie so i'm still practicing with the protein, but my favorite way so far is a "chocolate milkshake". A cup of milk(i use lowfat silk) a cup of ice and a scoop of chocolate protein powder. Blend. Helps with the sweet and chocolate cravings i get too. Oh and i LOVE pitaschios!
  • Thanks
  • Should i be sore after workouts? After my second workout(which i thought kicked my butt) i wasn't sore at all the next day, not even a bit. Is that a sign that i should up the weights?
  • I started monday. Today was workout number 2. I knew it was going to be hard, but WHEW!!! I'm loving it though. I feel empowered already. Its a nice feeling.
  • Thanks y'all! I appreciate your input. I'm really looking forward to starting.
  • I'm morbidly obese still and i can run circles around my "healthy" friends because they don't exercise. I say boo to the bmi. don't dwell on negative things that could convince your mind that you aren't capable of doing something because of the bmi so you shouldn't even bother. Either use it as a goal to move forward, or…
  • baby steps. Today you do something small and tomorrow you do something just a tiny bit bigger. And before you know it its a habit and you enjoy it. I started out walking. Everyday i went for a walk. On days i didn't feel like it, i went anyway and i was always glad i did. Now my day isn't complete until i've walked. Now…
  • i agree. Its hurtful to be defined by a number and a category. At my thinnest i was still "overweight" My kids are "overweight" by the bmi chart and i can count their ribs. Don't take it too seriously. Its a tool to help some. I personaly think its a croc, but it helps some people. Instead define yourself by goals you aim…
  • Whoa! just did it and my arms are burning! Its amazing what those simple little exercises can do

  • thanks, i hadn't heard this one. I'll look into it
  • i think i'm drinking enough water. I'm not drinking as much as i was when i first started(a gallon then, maybe half a gallon now). I don't think i've gone low carb. I eat less than i used to, but i still eat them. I had tuna and crackers for lunch today. I've been on MFP regularly since the end of july. Ive never been…
  • Thats Crazy!! I wonder if its because those fries are so salty! Salt is a natural microbe barrier. But still. I'm really disgusted after watching that.
  • my issue with the game is that on the food i order there, there isnt any game pieces. On a salad? forget it? On a small fry? nope. for a place to say they want to offer healthier choices, they are forcing people to buy the largest sized things to even participate. I have issue with that. I have to buy a coke i wont drink…
  • I still eat my carbs . I've gotten a bit choosier though and Definately don't eat as many as i used to. I know that if went low carb, i couldn't maintain that.
  • Just to put it in perspective, I drink (sometimes) on the weekends. We're shot takers. I've started drinking captain morgon because its only 57 calories a shot. I elimated my usual chaser of coke. Not only am i not drinking the sugary coke, i tend to drink less in general. I just do a little planning before i start…
  • I used to buy boxes of snacks or chocolate for teh family and eat all of them before anyone even knew they were there. One year i ate so much of the kid's easter candy i had to buy more at the last minute so they had baskets that year. I was so ashamed. I still struggle with bingeing.
  • I have the copper iud, the non hormone kind. I love it! No side effects, except for a slightly heavier period. Our insurance didn't cover it, but i got mine done at the health department. Based on income, i only paid 42 dollars for it.(that was almost 7 years ago) Thats only 4 dollars a year, in the long run. I would…
  • I've been eating clean"er" than most for awhile now and every once in awhile i eat something really bad and greasy. I ALWAYS get sick to my stomach. I think if more people ate better All the time, fast food wouldn't be as bad as it is. Just a theory.
  • that superman kills me! hurts so bad!
  • Still on level 3 myself, and i'll eventually finish it. Seems like there is always a setback of some type. For example, I got a face full of asphalt the other day and scraped up my knees so badly i could barely bend them. I had to stop exercising so they could heal. its always something! But i'm determined to finish! I've…
  • I only do the shred 5 or so days a week. I always have a day a week where i do absolutely nothing and it feels wonderful! I've also had to take some days off due to illness and pulled muscles. Those were frustrating days, but i did what i could. I've lost 8 lbs so far and lots of inches. I still have 6 days to go. I hope…
  • I freezer cook. One weekend every 2 months i prepackage my food and freeze it. Maybe that just means marinating chicken breasts and then throwing them in the freezer, but thats a meal done. You just have to remember to thaw, cook and make a side salad. There a practically a million site online dedicated to freezer meals. I…
  • Bravo! You just explained what i've been trying to explain to myself and to others, but you said it much more eloquently. Can i add you as a friend?
  • My kids never liked to take naps, but were always willing to take a nap if i layed down with them. Try that. It'll give you lots of energy for the evening and you won't feel so resentful for waking up so darn early.
