IMO - Start now! Why would you wait? I once read that people who are overweight have muscle under there. they need it to move all that weight around. If you wait to start then you could lose all that base muscle.

I weigh in monthly or less. I am really trying to make this a long term/ forever lifestyle change so by not concentrating too much on the scale numbers helps me with that goal. I have had a lot of NSVs so that keeps me motivated.

I would say that if you have to eat it at least commit to logging it first. Maybe seeing the actual calories will make you think twice?
