Been lurking here for a while now. Started Strong Lifts in late Nov. Also into triathlons, running, walking, and pretty much any activity that gets me moving. I have 2 girls - 15 and 5. I'm not currently logging my food as I am just completing my first year of weight maintenance and transitioned to intuitive eating also…

yes I am interested, again. Thank you

I love the honesty in this thread. Things up top disappeared when I lost a lot of body fat because I was too focused on how my stomach looked. Try to keep the total picture in your head not just certain areas, since you can't spot reduce or spot increase. I let myself obsess about this for about 5 mins a day then I rock my…

I have to admit. i took the corners real easy after riding your post. I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Thanks for all your advise and encouragement. I completed the Newport 19.7 tri (Option 2 ) on Saturday. I didn't wear a wet suit, and never upgraded my bike. I didn't have a watch or any other electronics. I finished in under 2 hours which was my goal. I really pushed my limits, and felt like I gave 100% the whole way. As…

Great article. I've been maintaining since Feb, and do just about all of the things listed. Right on!

Yes I weigh and log 95% (calorie dense foods almost all the time, whole fruits and veggies I mostly estimate now) of my food but more than that I meal plan to meet my macro goals. Because I have been doing this so long I have preset meals that I know fit together to meet goals, still aim for 40% protein, 30% fat and 30%…

I'm interested! thank you in advance :)

Thank you The number you gave is right around what my cheap *kitten* scale says but I was very, very hesitant to believe it. And THANK YOU for the personal note. I appreciate it. Yes, I have extra skin and still have a lot of fat in my tummy and it is embarrassing but I have to learn to accept it and be happy where I am.…

I had my diary set to Friends Only but just opened it up in case people are curious. I make no claim to being a good example. Remember also that I have been in maintenance since Feb and training hard so yeah I ate a lot (of cake and cookies) I did say I still struggle... You would have to go back a year to six months to…

Thank you everyone! And thanks hubby, you're my rock!

Just inquiring if there was an issue seeing my pictures? I sent out private messages with the link and password. If there was no issue, then I am just waiting patiently.

Beautiful as always Scott! I have faith in you. You have pulled many along with you on your journey, and that makes you a hero. Glad to see you believing in yourself. You can, and will tame that monster. He may snap at you once in a while, but NEVER devour. Hope you have a great trip.

Greetings SideSteel and Sara I am 5'6" and weigh around 133-136 depending on the day/time etc. I have my photos in a private album. I will message you the password. I think I am hard to estimate because it seems my belly and upper thighs are STUBBORN fat. My chest, back, and limbs have shed a lot of fat over the past year.…

Great post Scott. I will be posting this on my wall for others to see. Glad you fixed the flat, and are back on the road :)

BMR = basal metabolic rate i.e. how many calories you need if you laid on the couch all day long. TDEE = Total Daily Expenditure i.e. your BMR plus all the things you do during the day like eating, walking, getting dressed, taking a shower, working, etc. Exercise Calories = the amount you burn when you do more than your…

+Shaving my arm pits has gotten much harder. How are you supposed to get into the hollow places? +Being called "skinny". I'm not SKINNY, I'm trim and fit! +Not having enough time in my day to get all the workouts in that I want to do. I'm in training and need a lot more time to improve. +Can no longer wear my wedding ring,…

I clearly remember the first time I tried it I almost threw up! gagged and laugh so hard at how gross it was my co-workers thought I was crazy. Then I started thinking of it as a sour cream alternative and my whole mind shifted. Then I added a teaspoon of honey to like half a cup and a light bulb went off.
-
+replacement for sour cream (tricked the kids on this too) + nonfat, plain with PB2, TapN' Apple apple butter and a crushed up caramel rice cake + nonfat, plain with frozen blueberries and honey when the calories are there I will add a crushed up graham cracker and even more decadent a serving of white "chocolate" morsels…

Hope you get some good suggestions! I know how hard you are trying to stick to a plan :)

Yay! a part of me I'm proud to show off 4 months into weight loss Now from last week, after lots of walking, Stronglifts 5x5 which lasted about 2 month, completing C25K, 30 day shred, and other cardio exercises, Ripped in 30, and then switching to heavier cardio in Jan with swimming, biking and running in preparation for a…

I have read that exercising at night can lead to sleep or getting to sleep issues. But have no real evidence. Also, could caffeine be an issue? Meaning were you you using it to help complete your nightly exercise but now aren't? It depend on your goals for the exercise. Walking is a great slow burn and 30DS I think helps…

Don't have a good before pic (who does, right?) First picture is 4 months into weight loss (189lbs) mostly just walking and an occasional sessions on the Nordic Track ski machine Second picture is from Dec (149lbs) after lots of walking, Stronglifts 5x5 which lasted about 2 month, completing C25K, 30 day shred, and other…

I'm 5'6" and lost over 70lbs. Started by focusing on hitting my calorie goal and macro's 40% carbs, 30 protein, 30 fat and walking for 20 minutes 3 days a week. I started logging on April 26 (but really started losing in Feb by mostly lower calories and carbs) and have not taken a day off since. I'm now in maintenance,…

I use protein powder, plain no fat greek yogurt, and egg whites to help balance out my macros. I think my diary is still open to the public. This past month (or more) hasn't been the best as far as processed foods and sugar but I keep plugging away.

I have done this rarely because its a pain but you can go to the next day and enter your meal. This way the pie chart is only for that meal. If you save it as a meal then delete it you can then add it to the day you want. I agree it would be nice to see the pie chart per meal but I am thankful i can see it at all on the…

^This! Buying actual workout clothes totally changed how I felt working out meaning I felt like i "belonged" Alos, the tighter clothes helped prevent the riding up and exposure of flab and also the slapping sounds... Yay, it was awful the day I wore shorts and a tshirt...

Sign me up. Doesn't matter which team. Thanks

I totally understand why you are upset. In your head you didn't want that treat. I am sure you know that treats are ok but you DIDN"T want this one. Try not to punish yourself. That will not accomplish anything. You are human. This happens to me at work all the time. Sometimes, I will allow myself to enjoy the treat by…

Fantastic! So happy to hear you reached your goals. It was great being in the C25K group you started. Unfortunately, I had to finally accept that my knee will not allow me to go for longer distances. So, I signed up for a Spring Triathlon in July. 1/4 mile swim, 11 mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run. (I figure since the run…
