choosing the next race - opinions please
Some notes about me. Completed two sprint tri's this year both very similar in style and type to the first option. Finished in about 1 hour and 30 minutes each time. Had fun and enjoyed the experience. I don't own a tri wet suit. I ride an old Craig's list hybrid bike with block pedals that can have issues switching gears.…

Found the Faith to Believe in Myself!
I had a stranger take this picture of me last year. I had just "run" for about an hour. I had started using MFP in April 2012. First 5K - Mission fit for 40 ahead of schedule :)
Hello All! Yesterday, I ran in my first 5K race! I finished with a time of 35 minutes and 1 second. That 1 second bothers me a little but not too much, because I know I gave it everything I had and even "sprinted" at the finish line. I won a trophy for the second best time in the (self-selection) Athena division -women…

Home strength training advice
So about 7/8 weeks ago I started doing some basic lifting with my husband's barbells. Just three exercise; squat, bench and dead lift. doing 5 sets of 5 reps with a 5 minutes warm up on the Nordic track skier. I figured that as long as I did those I wouldn't lose much lean muscle mass. But seem to have my limit of doing…

Food you thought weren't too bad until you logged them?
Mine biggest surprise were Buffalo Wings. I mean I knew they weren't healthy but had no idea how high calorie they are esp. when you add the blue cheese dressing. What foods surprised you?
