I was taking colace occassionally or drinking prune juice (so gross!) but more recently discovered the perfect cure for me was dried mangoes! Delicious and very effective (at least for me!) I just have to be careful not to eat too many or my problem swings the other way. :embarassed:

Congrats to the mamas who have had their babies!!! I'm excited to hear everyone's birth stories! Hershey- Sorry about the swelling and lack of dialation. :frown: Guesses for weight can always be off so try not to worry too much about it. Amanda- My husband is definitely getting the brunt of my pregnant emotion. I can't…

I take 1/2 a unisom every night and have since the first tri. I still wake up but I can usually fall back asleep. I did this last pregnancy too and my baby was fine, it's totally safe. My midwife tells me to just stop taking it once I have the baby or it can cause milk supply issues. I'm still exhausted though and eat too…

That's so wonderful! Congratulations!! I lost weight to get pregnant each time and it made such a difference in my ability to conceive. I hope your pregnancy goes well!

Flyingcarbacc- I'm so sorry your sick on top of being pregnant right now! That should be against the rules of nature in my opinion. I had a horrible cough last time I delivered and it was miserable! Hopefully you feel better before your LO comes. rosy- I'm 36w4d and we're not ready for this one either. No crib set up, so…

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I hope you don't mind some prayers coming your way.

I am anxiously looking forward to being able to workout hard again! It's so frustrating to take everything slower. I hate when I have to stop a workout because of round ligament pain and not because I'm out of breath or anything! I look forward to being able to climb a flight of stairs without sounding like I'm gonna die…

I remember learning with my last pregnancy that if I followed the advice to keep my hips tucked under my belly more as I walked it helped fight against the natural urge to arch my back and made a big difference in the amount of back pain I had. This baby seems to be in a completely different position and it's hard to get…

I just started getting those lately during the night and they are HORRIBLE! I don't remember them with my past pregnancies. So I started taking a magnesium supplement which my midwife had recommended months ago for round ligament pain but I never took them. Now as long as I take one daily I don't get any cramps at night. I…

Like you, I found myself pregnant with baby #4 just as I was feeling good about myself and enjoying working out. I had to stop heavy lifting around 8 weeks because I only did it in the evening and by then I was just toooooo exhausted to be doing that! I was able to keep up my Zumba class attendance 3 days a week only…

I think my first 2 babies I did nothing. I don't think it even occurred to me to do anything. The next one I trimmed with an electric clipper. It was so much easier to keep things clean postpartum than with my first 2! I'll for sure make things clipped and neat as I can this time too despite not being able to see what I'm…

I had a friend who said she grabbed a dozen donuts on her way to the hospital for the nurses. I was going to do that last time but it never happened. Maybe this time. I've heard it makes for a friendlier staff. :)

I really wouldn't worry about it. I didn't gain anything during the first tri either and now I'm at around 25 lbs at 31 weeks so obviously it had no problem piling on later. Those apps and other guides are just averages. Everyone gains at different rates. And even for the same person you may gain at a different…

This is #4 for me. My must-haves always include a coming home outfit, nursing bras, gas drops, diapers (of course), baby memory book, Infant Tylenol, swaddling blankets, baby shampoo, baby lotion (my baby's are so DRY!), lots of onesies, Dreft detergent, sleeping gowns to make middle-of-the-night diaper changes faster,…

I actually sleep with a body pillow on each side, pregnant or not! LOL I got used to it during one of my pregnancies and have used both of them ever since. It just makes it easier than flipping the pillow over with me when I turn during the night. My poor DH and I call the body pillow in the middle our "chastity pillow."…

I'm 29 weeks and attend a zumba class 3 times a week. There's a TON of jumping in our routines. No one ever told me not to jump so I've always done what I'm able to. I figured people run their whole pregnancies so it didn't seem much different to me. My midwife has been fine with me doing Zumba as long as I'm listening to…

It was right for 2 of my 4 kids. Even my own predictions were better odds since I was right 3 of the 4.

I've never had anyone in the delivery room except my husband, nurse, and midwife/doctor. No one in our families even asks to hang out in the hospital during labor since it takes hours. I have a sister in her 40's who knows she'll never have kids and there's been a time or two I've thought about having her attend a birth so…

So I did end up going out and buying a few new maternity items that fit and make me feel better than my "fat clothes." They do help my self-esteem for sure, but it's still hard not to see the number on the scale and just want to cry. I guess I should be happy though that at 26 weeks pregnant I weigh about the same as when…

I don't plan on stopping as long as I'm handling it okay. I've definitely lowered my efforts at Zumba because if I don't then I get contractions like crazy or horrible ligament pains, but I plan on continuing til the end. My midwife is fine with it as long as I'm listening to my body. If it gets to the point that I can no…

How far along? 26 weeks 5 days What # pregnancy is it for you? Baby #4 What are you doing for your workout? Zumba 3 days a week when I can How are you eating? Not great, but not as bad as past pregnancies. Can't figure out why in the world I'm gaining more than past ones when my eating isn't as horrible and I'm exercising…

I've never ordered from them online but I have several shade items from when they used to have a wharehouse locally. I've had some of my stuff 6ish years and still wear it all the time. My non-maternity items stretch out great when I'm pregnant but bounce right back when I'm not. I have a ton of camisoles from them.

I, too, was doing stronglifts for about 2 months when I found out I was pregnant. I kept doing the program for about 2 more weeks until extreme fatigue set in and I just felt way too exhausted to lift. I had planned to pick up some form of lighter lifting once I hit the second tri but it never happened. My midwife told me…

My chest was pretty much the last thing to go. I went from a 38DD to a 34D and they were pretty saggy. (I've also breastfed 3 babies.) Even when the cup size stays the same, band size makes a difference. A D cup in 38 isn't the same as a 34. My sister noticed a big difference in my chest at the end. I didn't do anything…

I update my gains on mine. I want credit for the extra calories burned that comes with being heavier!

I love Secrets of the Baby Whisperer. It has a helpful chart for interpreting your baby's cries and movements which helped me a lot as a new parent. It's somewhat similar to Baby Wise in the routine you establish but more flexible. I don't care for Baby Wise. With any book, you have to remember they don't have all the…

I'm a horrible sleeper when not pregnant but the insomnia is way worse when I am. My last pregnancy I took half a unison for the last trimester every night and it made a big difference. I've been doing the same thing for this pregnancy since I started having trouble around 6 weeks (plus it was recommended for nausea.) I…

My first pregnancy they started around 20 weeks. The next it was by 16 weeks, and the last two by 12 weeks! So they get earlier with me each time.

Thank you all so much for your responses! It is so nice to know I'm not alone in feeling like this. I know getting some new maternity clothes is something I really need to do. I haven't been eating the healthiest but at least I'm doing better than my previous pregnancies. I need to cut out more sweets so that when I do…
