I understand where are you coming from but I don't really agree with your comments. IMO, the biggest myth and misconception with diets is putting only "calories in vs calories out" as the Holy Grail above everything else. Detaching weight loss from health and a balance diet only (in the majority of the cases) perpetuate a…

Two clear things come to my mind: 1. Don' t get me wrong but your diary is all over the place and have more holes than Swiss cheese. Its is almost impossible to give you a honest feedback with that. Try logging religiously your diary every single meal for at least 1 (or 2) consecutive weeks and come back to the forum to…

I guess you did it but double check drained weight and portion size. That's usually the origin of most problems... Quinoa, black beans? Althought v healthy , those each alone will be over 300 Calories each for a 100gr portion (which is a normal portion...)... Like most or us. Look I understand the time problems but a…

To be honest with you, your diary entries (if all are registered) don't leave much doubt in term of overestimating calories. There is a few undervalued entries (burrito bowl, tacos and some chicken, etc ) and I personally will replace those food supplements for real food products and get rid of the tuna brand (300 calorie…

This should be a sticky post. I agree 100% with you. "Tons of crap is being eaten on the back of "calories in vs calories out is all that matters". Dh

????? I don't know what are u talking about but there is almost no fricking way a female nebwie from a c25k that wants to lose nearly 80 pounds (according to her bar) at here age will make it under 20mins. I don't know if you missunderstood me or you simply want to troll about and mislead people. DH

No. Not really impressive. 5k under 20 in an eliptical trainer it is on the slow side. (Depending on age) 5k under 20 running? Its pretty much sure you wouldn't make it as a newbie from a C25k. DH

You are missing my point. Sure you can lose weight eating only 10 bags of M&ms or 8 glasses of beer ow whatever a day but weight loss is (should be) about Health not about staying below you daily caloric need just for the sake of losing weight without considering the consequences of an unbalance and unhealthy diet. DH

Absolutely !!!! You are what you eat. Sure you can only drink 8 pints of Guinness an stay below your daily calorie intake... Let's see how far do you go in the long run. Losing weight is about health first and last not about counting calories. The maths (your daily calorie intake) are the tools for a healthier and…

"Organic" food is now mostly a marketing strategy to add an extra charge. All real organic products won't have any branding or name as you will mostly buy them directly from small producers. Depending on where you live, in a rural area you will find plenty of seasonal products in your local market. If you live in a very…

Looking at your diary, the problem maybe not in the wrong values but in the portions. Some of the foods you have like "Maple Leaf Chicken Breast Roast" etc, etc are logged with the 1 portion guideline in the nutritional info. Sadly those portion in some high calorie products are usually tiny and a lot less than you may…

Check you diary entries. You maybe underestamited your calories. Some of your entries like for example pork congee entries seems to be way under a proper value. For the look of you diary you are probably Asian so it can be hard to cut some carbs but your diet seem a bit unbalance. Try to add some greens and fruits and…

I saw your dairy. Don't get me wrong but it looks you are making the usual "Triple U" diet mistake: Unbalance, Unhealthy and Under eating 1. You may want to check those calories measurements. It doesn't sounds right a chip chop chips under 400 calories? KFC under 300? 2. McDonald for breakfast? A Chinese takeaway without…

Sounds like a Grade 1 strain. It's very common among runners. You probably increased distance too fast or did not have a proper rest and/or stretching in between. You better stop any further exercise with that leg until you talk to your doctor. Rule of thumb RICE (rise, ice, compression, elevation) is a must to avoid…
