These are all soooooo beautiful to read. I think I will book mark this for a day when I want to feel all the poignant reasons I want to keep eating like a love myself, moving like I love myself. I might say something about this on the over 40 , over 75lb to lose thread- for some of us it is a long journey.…

This was so beautiful to read. I was addicted to mocha coffee. Having not had coffee for 22 years, I started again, and struggled not to have one every day. Seems tame enough, except that I'm intolerant to milk, and I don't tolerate sugar well, nor caffeine. Yet I struggled off and on over nearly 2 years, and each time I'd…

I envy you all, I can't drink coffee or eat chocolate, my intestines get very reactive, painful, inflamed.. so a bit of envy running from here

Happy birthday, and congrats. I wanted that for myself at 40, and didn't achieve it, and it makes me all the more happier for you that you have, and are running. :)

Hi there, I have low stomach acids, BUT, had forgotten about apple cider vinegar. I will start tomorrow and let you know.

6th May here, I find the daily commitment to logging very useful, sometimes I think I've barely eaten- til I log, then others, I realise I just have not had enough nutrition. I'm lucky in some ways because I almost never feel hungry. Hungry in the belly, I more notice my energy, clarity of mind or mood drop ever so…

Can't agree more, other people have been talking about staying the same weight but dropping sizes. I look forward to being there:)

in the groove, yeah.

Good on you, way to go. That is a fabulous goal- a big number in that time, but a fabulous goal, good luck,

For me, exactly the same, sleep like a baby, deep and long, my skin looks so much better and is more moist rather than parched, my mind is much more alert and sharp later into the night, my mood is stable as a rock, and I have so much more energy. Alll that form just cutting sugar- amazing really.

for me, it is always deciding to only eat simply for a week or two, steamed, sauteed or baked vegetable and flesh. Nothing fancy or combined, kind of like cutting back to basics. It helps me log, it is quick, and requires little thought, and it allows me to start to really taste the gorgeous flavours in every single thing…

I love eggplant, and all your ideas. I cook onions, eggplant, tomatoes, zuchini, sometimes spinach leaves, sometimes brussel spouts in olive oil, then either pour in beaten eggs for an omolette/fritatta kind of thing, or, poach eggs and serve on top of the eggplant mix. Yummy.

I've never felt so like I was among kindred souls as reading this thread. So good to meet you all. I just got back form interstate, and am pleased to say, I did not have to ask for, or be offered, an extender for my seat belt- woh - thank goodness for the 16lb dropped so far.
-
I know what you mean, I spent the last few days in a hotel, and while I can fairly accurately log fresh greens, tomatos etc, and canned or packaged fish, its impossible to know exactly what is in eggplant with salsa- could be 400 cals or 1200 cals. Its giving me a surprisingly positive and new I must say, appreciation for…

Good on you. I was surprised that anyone was critical or defensive, or suggesting you don't know how to count calories, people's bodies are different and do different things. I find it easy to sit on 1200-1400 cals per day when I am focused like now, and not exercising. When I exercise I eat more. Some days I just want…

sucha great thread, thanks guys, inspires me to be thoughtful in what I am doing

its so cool to be seeing everyone's posts. I started this thread, and was not precious about exactly 40 yo, or exactly 100lbs, but the sense of not being super young, and of having big numbers, to lose- a long journey. welcome aboard and yeah, and amen to "I AM NOT ON A DIET because diets have start dates, end dates, and…

I laughed, its a bit of a shock heh. I tried on some clothes yesterday from my closet. One of them was a jacket which I was going to throw out 3 years ago because I remember it was just sooo big. To my shock (and in my pride of having just lost 15 lb this last 5 weeks) I tried it on ready to decide to throw it- ARGHHHHHH,…

Thanks for this, a bit of a reminder for me

A beautiful Autumn morning here in Australia, birds chirping, soft grey sky, and this is day 4 of May, my 34th day in a row. I am enjoying logging daily, meticulously, and keeping my focus on eating like I love myself moving like I love myself It's weird in a way that any of us ever lose that inborn habit... that inborn…

mamadon, if this is you, you also look unrecognisable as well- awesome

I think mainstream medicine will eventually catch up to the fact that food is medicine, and the food we need is based on our individual bionome, genetics, epigenetics (the way our genetic expressions are changed following external influences, and how our hormones change with all of this. And during that time, there will be…

Oh I can't help but laugh- with sympathy. I never want to have that experience again of simply being unable to squeeze my flesh inside of a seat belt on a plane, an going through the indignity of either the air attendant noticing and getting me an extender, or me having to ask.

I eat 4-8 brussel sprouts every day.. sorry, makes no difference to pooping, but avocado does... I east the brussel srpouts because they are great for balancing the 3 sub groups of estrogen...and I like them.

Heh Roseygirl, my heart just smiled when I read this. Yes, exquisite attention - to tasty foods, and all sources of pleasure in life. I've recently started back at the gym, in prep for being back on my bike regularly sometime soon. While it was injury not weight gain that took me off my bike, dropping the first 14 lb has…
