  • Hi, I've been on Carnivore for 33 days so far. Lost 23lb. Never feel hungry. Long term significant achilles injury has almost recovered. My energy- now is great. Like most westerners I am a bit carb addicted. ie, when tired I am inclined to eat hot chips, or a sweet, or buy 'healthy' takeaway or even make porridge or…
  • Yes, there is an every increasing amount of research, and practicing doctors, psychiatrists, health and fitness people going carnivore. In the 'Cholesterol con' it says It all started with a flawed observational study of seven countries by Ancel Keys in 1952 which shows an association between saturated fat consumption and…
  • Yahoo. I've been 100% carnivore for 10 days, lost 5kg/11lb. days 2-9 were increasingly tough with headaches, dizziness and eventually chest pain, and me running fast to figure out if I needed more or less water, more or different salts, etc. I am grateful for the big 5k drop to start- its extremely motivating. My GP told…
  • neanderthin, grammyb5017, Carni8991, Nicole_Gardens Hi all, I am on carnivore as of 10 days ago. Have loved delving into the last few years of positive research on therapeutic use. Tried keto a few years ago- dropped weight but did not understand how to keep pooping, get my nutrients etc. Now, even more overweight, I…

  • Wicked. Isn't that where we'd all like to be:) And congrats on the dairy free. Some of the paleo authors say its not so much the milk, but how we've bastardised the milk over all these years in how we feed cows, pasteurise, homogenise etc. Though for me, at this stage, and most of my life, fresh milk from a cow living in…
  • Congratulations. I reckon we could write a short list of the common, successful approaches to weight loss, and healthy minds and bodies. Some complimentary, some opposites, and all working for different people. It's so great this worked for you, and gives you another self caring tool on your way forward. Awesome.
  • Heh is that a new photo, you look amazing.. what a great photo. and @bjwoodzy, aint it great there is sooo much more info out there now about low carb, /keto, the problems that some of us have, as well as the amazing positive differences. I love @Karlottap words - if your foods don't love you, then you don't want to be in…
  • Fantastic article. A few years ago I was hiking in the Himalayas, seemingly perfectly healthy, on extremely low carbs - and everyone was amazed at how I ate - no rice, no junk, no alcohol, no sugar sweets - when hiking way above the snow line up to 10 hours a day. 1 Year later I contracted meningitis and ... long story ..…
  • Saw you on here and the over 40 over 75 to lose thread. GOOD ON YOU. Such a great feeling to be back on plan.. Yeahhhhhhhhhh
  • Yes. The thing about that is it can change from day to day. When I had my appendix out - they could not find a tape that i wasn't allergic to, to cover my wound which was infected for 9 weeks. ... Yet, 6 months later when my gut was more robust, liver was happier, I could stick anything on me and be fine. I can't quite…
  • No I don't eat stored carbs at the end of the week. I go day by day. Yes, I am like that. I feel addiction hit really quickly to quite a few things. For me, its not quite as important for health if I eat 30 or 50 gms carbs, but rather exactly what those are made of. Like @jetsamflotsam I give myself a carb limit that I can…
  • Thanks for that, both of you. I appreciate the support. I did similar process last year, after the drugs I was given to deal with pneumonia burned holes in my esophagus, and made eating, sleeping, breathing- everything - quite hard for a while. .. Just today, I am having a flat day - which is rare for me - so much focus on…
  • well done
  • Ha ha, for me, I don't snack, don't feel the need unless I'm over tired, or really high exercise. The fats just fill me up. I have olive oil, eggs, avocado and cabbage or other green veg most mornings, and I am filled up for a very long time.
  • We have many different hards in our life. I too like your saying, choose your hard.. I also recognise that at different times in our lives we find different things motivating or helpful, and other things unhelpful.

  • [quote="flash0826;36603698" I just considered this thread a challenge and instead of hearing success all I was hearing was failure. I know that life happens but it is very easy to make excuses. I right now am battling two diseases that are similar arthritis and MS. I also travel and stay at hotels a lot. We also have two…
  • @baconslave @SamandaIndia @karlottap @fit_goat posts Well, I am at fault.. Having not read, or remembered, those guidelines properly - I certainly wrote a post that was mildly critical of the main sites posts - and very affirming of the friends in this group with amazing information, sense of support, and occasionally very…
  • Good luck. We are all different, but for me, dairy, along with anything that causes even mild acid vapours, is one of the things that leads to throat, and sinus congestion. Always nice when you find what it is..
  • OMG I know what you mean. I travel a lot, teach across the country, and even when we are organising the events, trying to find venues that will offer or create a menu that I can tolerate, let alone that keeps me satiated and sharp and alert- it's as if some hotels and conference centres don't know what real food is. I am…
  • No coincidence. Gosh no. In a run out of time moment last week I ate a banana on gluten free toast.. 45 mins later I was falling asleep in a live theatre show I'd been taken to. I get depressive with dairy or any kind of sugar or yeast I get achy like flu or instant onset arthritis pain all over when I eat chocolate…

  • Good on you, we are all here right behind you.
  • Have you ever ready about the blood type diets? I suspect our gut biome and genetics - including blood type - as well as epigenetics- the way our bodies have changed due to environmental factors like antibiotics and toxins and stress - all impact on what works for us. I'm blood type A- and by chance knew that I do not do…
