I am almost a year in and have lost 30 of the 160 needed. If I allow it - I will be discouraged that I have 'only' lost 30 pounds. Especially when I see others who have lost so much more. BUT this is not a competition. This is about me getting healthy and reclaiming my life! Several things that I consider: first of all -…

We took our kayaks to the lake on Saturday. It was packed! The only place we could find to park near the water was between to groups of young bikini clad students. I know I looked ridiculous getting in and out but I had a great time out on the water! I also know that as the weight comes off it will get easier to get in and…

This week I made burrito bowls. They were really good. Took about an hour to prep/cook/package everything on Sunday. (This doesn't include the time I let it sit to cool down.)

No eating in secret.

I can't add to the advice already given - they are spot on! What I can say is that you are NOT a lost cause! Small changes lead to big results....in time! I guess one thing that I don't recall reading above is to add friends. When you interact daily with people it helps you to stay focused. I'll send you a friend request!

You've got this! Unless you just lose all control - there is no reason to give up the food you love! Make it fit into your daily calories. Pretty soon you will learn that some foods just cost more calories than you are willing to spend. Good luck on your journey!

I bet this would be good with some veggies added. Plan to make for breakfast next week.

Hey! It all depends on how you view the scale. There was a time in my life when the scale absolutely ruled my day. If it was down - life was great. If it was up - the day sucked. Finally I came to realize that there are so many things that impact my relationship with gravity and the scale was going to bounce around but if…

So I have about the same amount as you to lose. I am at 1800 calories/day and lose. So far 30 pounds. It's been slow but I haven't been perfect. I am making changes that I can live with. I am not overly active. I hope to be but right now - not so much. I just think you are restricting yourself too much and in the end will…

Not a trucker....but I've worked in transportation for many years and know many drivers! You can do this. I have a friend who has dropped about 50 pounds so far. Keep posting and logging. You can do this!!! Also. Don't let a bad day or even a bad week get you down. This is life and it happens! Log it, own it and vow to do…

You are doing it for you!! Take heart my friend and don't let discouragement drag you down. It is going to take time. Don't let perfectionism get in your way!!

Sending a friend request. You can do this! I'm still at the beginning of my journey but gaining more and more confidence every day that is IS possible!
-
Welcome!! You can do this!

Thank you for sharing your story! And for the reminders. Sometimes I forget and find myself thinking that my turtle pace is not enough.

Build new habits one at a time. It is overwhelming when we try to change every single thing at once. Pick one thing - maybe it is just drinking more water to begin or walking around the block each evening. Once that is a habit - move to the next. The thing about this weight loss journey is just that - it's a journey. It is…

Climbed a flight of stairs and it didn't take 10 minutes to recover and catch my breath. Also sat in a chair with arms without having to squish my butt in. Progress!!
