I knew that I wouldn't make my ultimate goal but I'm happy with the two pounds I manged. I hope everyone else is happy with their numbers as well!! Verity: Great job meeting and surpassing your goal! TOM weight's don't count ;).

Despite my profile pic, I actually never wear makeup. Well, maybe a handful of times a year. However, I know beautiful women that like wearing it everyday. Good for them! I have not the time, patience, or skill ;). Lucky me, my hubby prefers me clean faced!

Never underestimate the power of short ;). Your equation puts me just smudge above 1200 for maintance. Minus 500 puts me just north of 700. But I know I am an exception of the rule as I am not within the normal bell curve for height. Before anyone goes crazy, I am NOT eat 700 calories a day. I'm just pointing out the flaw…

Perfectly normal. Don't drive yourself nuts about the number as long as your feeling good ;)

Agree about the dynamic. People get stuck in patterns. Doesn't make them any less of a bully but unfortuately sometimes we react in ways that allow us to be bullied by others (not saying bullying is right at all, just that bullys know how to pick their targets). Never read the book though, sounds like a pretty good one ;)

I think MFP puts sets that minimum to ensure that they don't get sued for people going way under and having health issues. 1200 calories is an arbitrary number set by the American College of Sports Medicine to ensure that people obtain enough food in order to have the required nutrition (ie vitamins and minerals) your body…

Research shows that dark chocolate increases endorphines, energy, and mood. The darker the better! Like everything, moderation is key ;). I use to eat a square of 70-85% dark chocolate everyday. Will likely go back to it once I finish slowing working my way through the Halloween candy ;).

1200 calories is an arbitrary number set by the American College of Sports Medicine to ensure that people obtain enough food in order to have the required nutrition (ie vitamins and minerals) your body needs to function. There is actually no research behind the number. The concept of minimum calories, just like the concept…

Never said it was any fun for the people on those diets ;). Definately not a quality of life I would strive for!

I agree. I think darker looks better on pale skin. Very shocking (in a good way) contrast.

On top of it! ;)

No, jbox is right. There will be high and low days. Just mark today up as a good day :).

Boo! I HATE the stomach flu! Feel better!

I say join a challenge (which you obviously just did ;)). I too was soo good for the first several months, getting within 5 pounds or so of my goal weight. Then I moved, changed jobs, got married, and lost motivation to keep up the good work. Two months and 8 pounds back on!!! So now, I'm joining challenges to help push…

I think it has a lot to do with genes as well as weight control. I know that the skin on my tummy is looser then it was before the baby and more prone to hold my weight when I put on a couple of pounds. However, most people probably couldn't tell I've had a baby by looking at my belly. Mind, it did take me about 18 months…

I LOVE the picture! I'm thankful for the wonderful family I have and the great people I know. I would like to be thankful for my husband landing a job he will enjoy (he's been out of work and trying to find a new job since he retired from the military last year), having visitors for either Thanksgiving or Christmas…

My goal is 1200 but I'm under 5' and have an extremely sedentary job (which has been verified by my fitbit) and had a drop in metabolism after giving birth :P. I try to meet weekly goals vs. daily goals so some days I can eat over 2000 if I'm on track and have worked out. Or if I'm just satisfying a craving... lol. I think…

I'm a little under at 4'11" but I'm joining anyways as well ;). I SO hear you all about every little pound making a huge difference. Give or take 5 pounds and I'm in a totally different size range in my closet! Lol!!
-
4'11.5" here. Feel free to add me. I'm on here all the time!

Haha... sadly there is a surgery you can get where they break your legs and slowly extend them over the course of the year by turning knobs on the sides of the splint so that your bones have to try to continuously heal across the break and thus making you taller. Can't imagine how bad your legs are going to hurt in the…

You look amazing. I have a c-section and don't have shelf issues now that I've lost all my baby weight. Don't have photos of my belly though. Let me see if I can take and post one...
-
Well... if you plan to work them off and are in your calorie goal you can have them all! Though you might have some serious sugur high going and give yourself a belly ache... lol!

Are you of Jewish decent?
-
Danbi: almost guessed for your boyfriend... lol. Eastern european decent? Hanahlai: you look a lot like my friend who is 1/8 japanese (the rest white of different decents) but I'm going to guess white with maybe a little hawaian? You can look at my profile and guess for me or for my daughter since she's the one in my…

Actually, research is quite frequently miscited. I encourage everyone to go back to read original research articles and learn how to do so with a distriguishing eye. This is what leads to all the 1200 calorie and starvation mode debate on here. People don't go back and read the original articles and understand what it…
