LMAO!

But wouldn't that question bring us potentially back to the question at hand about starvation mode?
-
LOVE black rice... so good for you! Haven't tried black sugar. I've got to look into it ;)
-
Haha... Thanks. Oh and peach. By the way, as a less then 5 foot tall Asian with a normal BMI who eats a prodominately rice based diet. Being usually very athlectic I can put over 3000 calories in my body in a day. Especially when I'm training. Besides, anyone who eats an all rice diet will be JUST as sick as any who eats…

My dear, you have no idea what your talking about. Watching one educational series on youtube does not make you knowledgable or an expert. There is no since in reasoning with someone who refuses to see reason. And yes, people can intake 3000 calories, healthy or not. And yes, they can do it without becoming diabetics.
-
Your argument is much like the starvation mode argument. By and large inappropriately misused by most people. Yes the type of calorie matters. However as most people don't get the basic in and out concept getting into the nuance of what type of calorie in and type of calorie out is really overkill for the average…

Added Response to Peach: Oh, also Asians (and I'm being very general here) don't generally believe that females with muscle mass is attractive. Thus it's actually MORE of an insult to say you look muscular then to say someone's fat. They, very very generally speaking, idealize the thin academic look. So yes, less Asians in…

Much much more complicated then you think. Yes, they have smaller portion sizes. Yes, they tend to eat less fast food (or at least the American variety). No, I don't know what your point is... Edit: Oh, and culturally they will be much more upfront about people gaining unacceptable weight. So social pressure is much higher…

And... no.... sorry. Try reading the original studies instead of pop science.
-
Yep. Starvation mode exists but it is not what people in most health forums THINK it is. Most people that talk about starvation mode on here have never read the original studies and have no idea what they are talking about. Edit: For the record, I have read the original studies.

I believe statistically tall people have shorter lives... but they earn more while they live it!

Yes, given how insurance works here in the US (and probably most countries) you will likely receive a diagnosis as soon as you see a professional. Of course, if you go to a visit related to your diabeties, maybe less so since they already have a billable diagnosis. That being said, if this is something that you have had a…

Fair enough. I just wanted to make sure those closest to you were being sensitive to your health needs. Growing up in a family where you clean your plate and don't waste food this was a difficult lesson to learn: Throw it away... Or bring it to work and share they calories as they have been doing to you. I try to avoid the…

Stupid question: Why does your pantry have food in it that can kill you? Edit: Not being mean. For example I LOVE kiwi. Recently (last few years) developed a pretty serious allergy to it. I don't buy kiwi because it would be a bad idea to tempt myself into eating it. My husband does not buy kiwi or food with kiwi in it…

Binge Eating Disorder is considered Eating Disorder NOS (at least under the DSM-IV-TR... I haven't bothered to look up the new DSM-V as it has just released). Described as Recurrent episodes of binge eating in the absence of the regular use of inappropriate compensatory behaviors characteristic of Bulimia Nervosa. Keep in…

Lol! Probably right. The guy I dated that was 5'3" if anything had the BIGGEST issue with my height. Dumped me for a leggy blood that was a ballet dancer (ie THIN and TALL). I think he felt that he SHOULD go out with me since I was one of the girls that was nice to him both before and after he loss a very significant…
-
At under 5 feet, it's pretty hard to get shorter then me... lol. Though I've found that the shorter guys I've dated have the most problem with my height... go figure...

Can't win if you don't play. Don't pend to spend much on it but one can dream right??

Welcome back! Alas, I was horrified to learn that you only get thigh gap if you have wider hips. If you are like me, short with more butt then hips, no thigh gap ;). But here is to dreaming!! Maybe you have more hips then me!!!

I have cravings every time of the month... and when I'm stressed out... ;)

I came pretty close. Within 5 lbs but then I gained it all back due to life's unexpected twists and turns. My profile picture is form when I was within about 5 lbs of my goal. Now, back to getting healthy gain. No excuses this time!
-
Great idea! I'm excited to get started. Goals for January: 1. To make the increase on the scale become a decrease. 2. Create a schedule for exercise and family time that is managable. 3. Drink more water and less beverages.
-
My goal: Lose (again) the 15 lbs I HAD lost. Ultimate to lose 20 lbs and hit my goal weight of 110 lbs. To make myself as much of a priority as my daughter and hubby.

Sounds like a wonderful idea. We have a 4x8 foot planter in our back yard. Love it!! Out new backyard at the house we are closing on may not have the space in the backyard for the garden. We'll probably have to do it with the scrap of side yard we have. We have a good front yard but I'm sure our HOA will be all over us if…

I'm a little shorter the the requested heights at somewhere in the 4'10.5" - 4'11" range. I float around 112-116 lbs or so. Not quite ever able to make it fully down to the 110. But honestly, I'm pretty happy where I am. My profile pick is a couple of months old but is with me firmly in the range I've been maintaining in.…
