Hmm.. Lots of veggies (I share the fridge with my flatmate, who is veggie, and we tend to cook and eat seperately). Lots of jars of things like gherkins, pickled onions, olives, pesto and tartare sauce. Ketchup and light mayo. Fizzy water. Cheese - Light Babybels (mine) and others (hers). Yoghurts. Light soft cheese - goes…

It sounds like you need to see a genuine nutritionist/dietician. If you do have a wheat allergy then your doctor should be able to refer you (This is how it works in the UK anyway...).

Hi, not a technical reply here, but just to say that I love this site! I used to do Weight Watchers, but this is so much more transparent. I can now look at any food packet and know how much of my daily allowance it will take up - no sums involved! The community function is great and everyone is really supportive. There is…

How are you measuring your body fat? That does seem a little low, but I'm no expert. Do try not to focus too much on the numers though, and go on actual measurements, how your clothes feel, how YOU feel, your wellbeing, etc. 20lbs is fantastic!! Keep at it, you're doing yourself a lot of good. xx

I find it so odd that Americans seem a lot more familiar with 'English muffins' than the English are! I've never seen them here!!

Mavrick7 - One word - Wow! ;-)

@ Litlbeast - Haha, I am so not! :-)

I'm 27 and single. I'd love to find a nice guy who I can love and who loves me. Never found that magic combo though! Your friend's son might be a nice guy, but shyness is usually the biggest problem. No-one else is going to fall for you until you accept that you are worth falling for!

There've been a lot of studies in the UK, especially on school kids. The kids who ate a healthy breakfast before the morning's lessons had better concentration, better ability to solve problems and more energy throughout the morning. The kids who didn't were generally less engaged, took longer to solve problems and were…

I'm holding my newborn nephew, just out of shot :-)

Does this not just count as drinking sugar pre-workout?! Thanks for the support, guys. Ready to slog 45 minutes back into town tomorrow and set up my weekend-gym routine!! xx

Bump. Anyone?

Thanks Lorraine, as ever! H.x

I am absolutely, completely, totally, utterly overwhelmed by the responses here today. What a fantastic bunch of people you all are! I have had a better day, thank you to everyone who asked. I got out of the house, went to see the Cutty Sark (historic ship which reopened in London a few months back), bought some healthy…

Thanks guys. I'm going to see how I feel very first thing tomorrow morning and maybe go then. H.

My black skirt with white criss-crosses, kinda preppy a bit like a kilt, that I bought last winter to 'slim into'.

I'm 5ft4, 168 lbs at the moment, and aiming for about 150 (Just under 11 stone in 'English money'!) Helen.x

Well Done! I just started C25k again this morning. I trained up to a 5k last summer, and did it in 40 mins on the day, but haven't run once since and have put on over a stone!
-
It will be hard to start with, but it will get easier. Like I said, I started from nothing early last year and did the 5k (in extreme heat!) in a decent time - and I nearly enjoyed it, too... ;-) Best of luck. H.

Remember they didn't have central heating either - you would have used a lot more energy just staying warm sometimes...

Haha, I guess the UK wins at the moment! Maybe we kinda peak at different times of day!

Call centre. I lasted two days and cried to my mum on the morning of the third day and said I didn't have to go. I was only sixteen, bless...

Thanks everyone, and thank you Little Miss Dover - I eat a salad every day for lunch as the salad bar in our canteen is so good. I always have mixed low cal veggies with some lean protein, maybe some carb, and a few pumpkin seeds. It's a little different each day and so cheap, it's not even worth trying to make lunch at…

Squash makes a great robust curry or soup. In both instances, roast it in spray oil first for extra flavour, then add to your curry sauce or puree with cumin and stock to make a soup. Zucchini (courgettes in the UK) are also great roasted, or can be added grated to stews or bolognaise sauce or chilli.

They'll get much more mushy, may develop a white mould and will taste kinda muddy...

Ooh, David Tennant :-) I think I'm going to like it around here! x

I'm an administrator at a national museum in London, UK. I organise lending our historical objects to exhibitions around the world - a bit like an air traffic controller for artefacts, as someone described it earlier this week!
