You have a tricky situation. Sounds like hell but you are making it through to the other side. I have found out the hard way about husbands of friends who are all of a sudden "there for me". I don't need any more of the BS....good Lord!

Check out Metabolic Effect on Facebook - they recommend taking pure cocoa powder (not Nestle's or anything like that) and mix it with hot water. I bought some organic cocoa powder today & can't wait to try it. I LOVE everything they say at Metabollic Effect. Very helpful.

Make "bean dip" out of anything. - cauliflower, broccoli, lentils, peas, avocado......just add cumin, garlic, onion, red chili powder.... and dip with celery, carrots, cukes, etc. Even my kids like this.

There is lots of info out there about what foods can contribute to your thyroid issues, and what foods may help. I really hate to see everybody running to the medication and hardly mentioning nutrition.

Find out why you hate something & be specific. I hated getting hot - I felt like I was being smothered - so now I turn the fans on and it's better. I also need either great music or a good TV show to take my mind off how bad my shins hurt, my lungs hurt, I have to clean the house, etc. I also feel like a piece of poop…

Nothing else has really been working for me, so today is day 53 of no booze. I eat clean (mostly), lift heavy, stay active. I don't know what else I can do, but it doesn't look like I'll be wearing a swim suit in public this year :(

I never get bored with this book. This is my second time through it. Love it. There are diagrams, instructions, helpful facts, even a nutrition program. Good place to begin....and good enough to continue with, IMO.

Holy crap! I gained 3.2 pounds this past week! Totally emotional binging on chocolate. I don't even really love chocolate. But it was here. And I'm trying not to get too down about it. But I am.
