If you're following Induction (20 net grams of carbs per day) you should see the weight come off. Rapidly in the beginning and then slower as the months go on. Maybe add in more fiber? Avoid processed foods? Avoid Atkins bars? I initally thought the weight was going to come off quickly and since starting Atkins in June I…

Unless you sit in front of the TV all day you're not living a sedentary life which means your burning calories. I don't "exercise" everyday or even every other day but I have 2 small kids that keep me so busy and make me sweat! I use that as my "exercise". Walking around the mall, or outside, chasing a ball or dancing are…

THANK YOU! YUMMY :drinker:

I love the low carb lifestyle. I've been in Induction since June of this year and it is very sustainable.

This is very inspiring. Thank you for telling us your story and posting those amazing results! You're absolutely correct that if you make losing weight a miserable experience, it will be and won't last. What we're doing on MFP is life changing. Amazing story.

Ok, Wendy's Son of Baconator wrapped in lettuce is the most amazing low carb fast food meal I've ever had! Two patties, cheese and BACON. Only 1g of carbs. AMAZING

This group sometimes lacks support but I have I've befriended some low carbers and they've been my source of much needed support. Low carb has it's restrictions but also has great benefits. Since starting low carb at the end of June I've lost 17 pounds. I'm still in induction until I lose another 10 pounds but once you're…

I typically have more calories then carbs. Bacon, cream cheese, heavy whipping cream, butter all of those have high calories and low to no carbs. Also incorporate veggies when completing Phase 1 of Atkins. I'm still in induction, have been for 3 months, and I stay between 1200-1500 calories and 20 net carbs. Hope this…

stock up on green peppers, broccoli, tomato, avocado, chicken, cans of tuna, beef, cheese (any kind especially cream cheese) BACON as long as it's not honey glazed/smoked etc., whipping cream and EGGS. Good luck!

Phase 1 is easier once you keep going. You'll realize you like the taste of meat and veggies more than potatoes and bread. I used to eat cereal every morning but now have hardboiled, scrambled or over easy eggs, tuna or chicken and BACON is amazing. You learn to adapt quickly and there are some great results. I net around…

I am tired of hearing that I'm going to have high cholesterol and a heart attack by 40. I have one woman who insists I'm killing my body on a low carb diet yet she smokes like a chimney everyday. Yea...she's the epitome of healthy. :noway:

great results!

20 carbs and below. I eat eggs, tuna, spinach, jicama, green peppers, tomato, avocado, chicken, beef and bacon (turkey or pork) I still have my coffee in the morning with heavy cream, I enjoy desserts with cream cheese. Low carb is all good!

Love ignorant people that make random statements and criticize others choices in diets. Why do you care if people choose low carb? Nothing better to do then write a post discussing a diet you obviously have not tried and have not educated yourself on? :grumble:

I follow the atkins program which does not require exercise to lose and I've lost 12 pounds in 1 1/2 months. I think it's important to exercise to tone the body and stay healthy. I also think people don't realize how many calories are burned in everyday chores i.e. giving the kids a bath, cleaning the house, mopping the…

You can view my diary, I'm low carb 20-25 net carbs. Veggies - i.e. Spinach, cabbage, bell pepper, tomato, broccoli. Meat i.e. fish, steak, chicken. If you're drinking coffee and like creamer switch to Heavy Cream which has 0 carbs. Splenda instead of sugar. Flax bread is a good alternative. There are SO many options in a…

These ideas sound yummy!! Thanks!

I'm a low carber, staying between 20-25 net carbs a day. When I eat tuna, chicken or eggs for breakfast I tend to feel more full and satisfied. Low carb is the way to go!
