  • I know off leash dogs are illegal here in IL as well but if they aren't actually hurting anyone then the cops could care less. Meaning you could call a hundred times a day about off leash dogs at the park, but until one actually bit you they wouldn't do a thing about it. The only downside about pepper spray is that you…
  • Marinade. I use a prepackaged marinade at 25 calories for the entire thing, I use it to marinade an entire pack (9 pieces) of chicken thighs and then grill them. A lot gets left in the pan, on the grill, dripped into the grill, etc. 2 pieces of the chicken I eat that night, 2 pieces the boyfriend eats and the other 5 go to…
  • Are you going for full out bodybuilding or looking more into physique? All-in-all those girls work their*kitten* off (literally) and have amazing dedication on a level most people can't even imagine. *kitten* the people who make comments, let's see them have that level or strength, or push that hard for their goal EVER.…
  • I can set my calories and meal prep. I will occasionally go over if I know I'm cutting it too short. My days are set at 1200 but I usually allow myself closer to 1400... however I am also aware that if I don't take an appetite suppressant I will be starving all day. It sucks and I know it's frowned upon, but it works for…

  • my lunch today was a grilled chicken thigh, steamed california blend vegetables (broccoli, cal, carrots), a small bowl of mandarin oranges, and sliced cucumber. 260 calories - so PLENTY of room for something more.
  • My usual problem is having all of my food measured out and then my 4 year old deciding she needs to eat what's on my plate instead of what is on hers... I always just give her a bit and carry on, but I already round up my calories and measurements so the little thief doesn't help!

  • We do a lot of "different" meat for meals: buffalo, duck, venison, etc. If it's a steak or bigger cut I will soak it for the day in an ice water/salt mixture to draw out the blood and get rid of the "gamey' taste then marinate and cook as needed.

  • I do breakfast and lunch meal prep on Sundays and log those meals for the whole week that way I can plan dinner the night before knowing how many calories I'll have left.
  • I got very into weight lifting for a while and I can tell you while the majority of days I went in there and lifted sets with forms I definitely had days where I was pissed off at the world and just wanted a new PR and ego lifted for no reason other than fxck everyone. I fail to see how anyone else's workout at the gym…
  • I took my before pictures, bawled for about 15 minutes, and then locked them away. I've lost the weight before and can do it again and I know how much I'll be thankful for having those before pictures eventually... but for now they are devastating and tucked safely away.
  • I mean realistically as long as you are logging everything accurately and going to the gym the weight is going to go down. There is really no need to ever get on a scale unless you want to. The weight will come off as long as you're doing what you are supposed to be doing, if you don't want to weigh in today or this week…
  • Adding you, it's always nice to have people in the same region!
  • I agree with this. If you can't do them all the way down with your elbows in, then start at an incline, such as hands on a set of stairs, table edge, etc. work your way lower to the ground.
  • I listen to country music only... unless I'm at the gym, then it is a bit harder, I think my entire gym mix right now is Rob Bailey and the Hustle Standard, music and motivation at one.
  • If it's causing pain with your "elbows out" try keeping them closer to your side. It isn't exactly the same muscle group but it won't really matter that much. It allows you a bit more "bounce" when doing multiples as you get better at it. That was always the military trick to knocking them out as quickly as possible.
  • As someone who has been riding for 25 years I can agree that horse back riding is more than just sitting on a horse... however unless you are doing some intense riding you aren't burning calories. A leisurely ride on a quiet trail mount is not worth logging. That's just reality.
  • I weight daily on Libra or Trendweight, and then on MFP I only record when I hit a new low. Honestly, it is whatever works best for you.

  • I hate to second it, but if you are drinking that much water plus eating low salt/sodium and still experiencing this I agree that maybe you should talk to a doctor. It might not be something major but it's definitely worth asking about.
  • I'm in a few different groups with a variety of goal by dates, but would love to join this one too! My actual goal is much more than 20 lbs by 4th of July but at least I can be held accountable here! • I'll have to look around and pick one in particular but pretty much anything that comes out of Rob Bailey's mouth (husband of Dana Linn Bailey).
  • I do know that I was on the pill and then for a short time changed to the depo shot. While on the pill I had been losing weight through calorie counting and exercise, with the depo shot I was constantly starving! I literally could eat Thanksgiving dinner and be begging for more food. As soon as I came off of it I was fine…
  • When I showed horses people could make a relatively decent horse look AMAZING in just a few hours by wrapping it in plastic/cling wrap and "sweating" the horse. It would cause the neck and legs or wherever it was wrapped to dehydrate and shrink up. However, shortly after drinking water and rehydrating you had the same old…
  • when I was actively measuring I had to make sure to "behave" the same way each time I took measurements. I had a habit of sucking in, or flexing, or otherwise contouring myself to make measurements seem better. You might be best to have a trusted friend do the measurements for you.
  • Thanks everyone. I ended up going with the grilled chicken salad, no onions no croutons, lite italian dressing, and about 1/3 of a slice of the cheese toast.
  • I lost about 60 lbs the last time and when I looked in the mirror I was convinced I was still huge despite compliments, the scale, measurements, photos etc. Now I would kill to be back at that weight. I got depressed about it and ended up putting the weight back on. :(
