Are we still having this conversation?? Please do you own research on aspartame before posting this junk. Aspartame is one of the most highly studied and scrutinized food additives known to man and no scientifically sound study (and there are literally hundreds) has ever found a link between aspartame and any major human…

Shoulder issues suck. I've been dealing with them for years. First off, be sure that you have tendonitis and not tendonosis. They are different and the majority of the medical community is still diagnosing osis as itis.

Not to hijack your thread but I'm reading a lot of stuff as of late that calls into question the link between cholesterol and heart disease. I'm eager for more info to come to light about this.

As a runner, your diet will be especially crucial to your success as a lifter. You're going to have to eat a lot to offset the cals burned from running and have enough left over to build muscle.

The problem with this question is that there is a lack of data using trained individuals. In untrained individuals studies have shown than rep range doesn't matter at all and furthermore high rep ranges (20-30) work better than lower rep ranges for hypertrophy. Ive spoken with the lead researcher of one of the most recent…

Almost always cut first. Once you've cut it's much easier to track the muscle you'll gain from a bulk afterwards. It will be much more motivating as well seeing as the added muscle will be more apparent in the mirror than if you bulked while still holding extra fat.

I'm a little over one week out from a 4 day ride down to Nor Cal on my FZ6 with a couple buddies. We'll be taking the pacific coast highway. Very excited :)

Not to take away from the importance of squats but I'd argue that dead lifts fit the above description a little better.

Whatever you do, just make sure you do more of it or with more weight in small increments over time. It's called "progressive load" and it's THE key to building muscle and getting stronger.

You'll have to look at the contents of both to know the difference. As to why you're coughing and throwing up, who knows. Maybe you are allergic to something?

I am getting a little chuckle at all the early 20-somethings stating they won't ever have kids. Some of you WILL change your minds.

I'm a super health nut from mon-fri and then I turn into Keith Richards on the weekends.

I think the comment was pretty accurate. Divorce rates for those 18 and under are nearly double those of the 25 and older crowd. The younger you are, the more likely you are to be divorced. Just be happy you're the exception.

Depends on the demographic of your social circle. Only about 15% of my female friends are 100% straight.

Good for you, though I'm surprised. MFP has more myths and bad advice than any other health and fitness forum I'm part of.

As the first reply said, eat them if you need the cals it and it doesn't matter when. Nutrient timing is nearly meaningless in the big scheme of things. The only nutrient timing I use is I have a small meal with some carbs about an hour before the gym so that I have some energy for a good training session.

Mostly yes. All of the clothes I buy go straight to my tailor to be narrowed which is kind of a pain. At 6'4 I feel like I stick out more which give me incentive to stay in good shape. I always hated being "that tall skinny guy". I'd be curious to try out 6'2 though and see what that's like.

Expend more energy. Seriously.

I won a gift certificate to White Spot when I was kid so I took my older brother for lunch. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. The sandwich arrived and I took a big bite. Immediately I knew something was wrong. The geniuses in the kitchen forget to remove the plastic from the processed cheese slices.
