Lots of interesting things there, folks, thank you for your time and thoughts. I hope some of your comments will help others too. Some of you do get what causes this, so thank you because so many don't . What I eat and do the rest of the time makes no difference at all - and it's not a boredom issue. Some of you have…

On diary page (I do this on phone app, but think it's similar on website), there are arrows by the day at the top. Just step back with the arrow to the day you want to add to. Hth.

Thanks guys - wbb55 - I do more than that already, minimum of 10,000 steps a day, usually 13-15,000, over 20,000 once a week or so. I run 2-3 times a week (until I stop completely for a week or 2). Agree completely with coping comments, was really hoping to hear from people who were like me but grateful to hear from…

Rahr! I'm a tiger! Will report back here how I'm doing if you are interested... Hoping it might help me. And maybe others ashamed of similar behaviour.

Orphia, I'm not mad with you, and getting mad with me would make me eat! But I agree, I can do this. It's just been a tough week and I've munched my way through. Osiris, those are comforting words. I have a waterrower and treadmill, so I need to take your advice on substituting those for eating. I have so many other things…

Thank you all for your comments, it's good to get other views, thanks for your time. I'm not putting myself last, I'm really not. Offensive comment about 1950s, so not how it is, but you can't know that. Kids do lots, they and other half really pull their weight, if anything, I don't. That's why when he's away there's a…

Hey. I'm in similar boat! I need to keep up my sports and eat cleaner - I'm bad for gluttonous ltd scoffing in the car. Must stop now!

Are you guys still going? I'd love some supporting buddies doing the same thing! I've done the first cycle before, loved it, then fell off... I've got about 35 kg to lose (that's about 70lb). Never seem to get anywhere, and I really need to. Keep living in the past and in cloud cuckoo land, want to just get on with living,…

I'm 44, about 70-80lbs to lose. Keep restarting and not really getting going. Would love new friends, so anyone on thread, feel free to add me :-),

Oh so true, thank you for that. xx

Hi Guys, lots of really useful information there. Stuff I can use. Thank you for that! Strength training/weights/massage/slowlyslowly/protein. And genes of course. And people who've been where I am and got to where I want to be. I'm 43. Not so young, and got to fix it now. Been overweight about 6 years. No yoyoing. (It's…

Love Ladywendolyn's post. I've comfort/happy/any emotion eaten for years now. I need to break this habit. That's all it is, isn't it? And they say 30 days to make/break habits. Going to think of the way to go for me, maybe chewing gum. Thanks.

When I did it for 17 days, 18 months ago, I felt fantastic, energetic, so it should be good. Just takes a bit more planning because of being chief caterer for the family. Q. Are you only supposed to have a max of 2 eggs a day? As in, if I have 2 boiled eggs for breakfast, I shouldn't have omelette for tea? (I have no…

hello, I'm on day 1 today, so can I join you for encouragement, please? How's it going for you? I've had smoothie and eggs for breakfast :blushing: today. Was thinking of omelette for tea, but I'll shift that to tomorrow, and we'll go for some chicken I think. I find it tricky to cater for family of 5 while doing this as…

Thanks guys. Will keep in touch with how it goes. Tomorrow is day 1. Got notified of being shortlisted for a job today. Interview in 22 days time. Any improvement is a help. Here goes!

Hi Guys. I'm planning to start this this week, but have a couple of questions. There's no real mention of milk in the book (or have I missed it?). I have no hassle avoiding it mostly. But I really like it in coffee. Not bothered in tea. And I really like to have a cup or 2 of coffee most days (which is ok on 17dd). So - is…

Feel free to add me too! I'm an every-emotion eater! Hope we can help each other. I've found NLP useful, but have fallen off the bandwagon again, trying to get going again, and think a fit lifestyle is what is needed.

This is one of my biggest triggers too! Am finding that getting up and doing the stuff not only keeps me from trickle-bingeing, but I am getting into the habit of being more active, and it's a pleasant cycle of improvement.
-
Hello, haven't read through all these yet, but you're asking what I do. So here I go - binging is one of my biggest problems, and over the last few weeks I really feel I'm getting somewhere with preventing, controlling and reducing these (i.e. even when I do binge, it's not as much as it used to be). 1. I use a…

Sirrese - thank you, great supportive post. I do really think I'm getting somewhere at the moment. Been using mfp for about 6 weeks and getting a lot of benefit from it, and I think an NLP CD I've got is helping me too (especially with binge-eating). But I know that getting active in sports again is key for me. I'm having…

Thanks folks, great ideas there. Pike717 - definitely interested in your suggestions - I'm a swimmer and rower at heart so I like to be told what to do and then I do it.... Already have free weights and bars, 2kg hand dumbells, and physio ball. No bench but will see if I can come up with one, or equivalent. Have to be wary…

Hi sports - oh yes, please, will add you as friend! I find it hard that so much advice is aimed at people who have never done sport, or think they don't like it. Advice also seems to be aimed at people who've always been overweight, or who yoyo diet. That's not me. I was fit and healthy until 5 years ago (since child 2,…

Thanks guys for your time. gmjminsz - you're well aware of exactly my problems - your post talks to me how I talk to myself and it doesn't "sort out my mental attitude" - please don't misunderstand, I'm pleased you see how it is and that's why I wrote this post. I just don't seem to be sorting out the attitude, I think I…

The only rowing machines that are used by rowers are Concept IIs as you see in most gyms and Waterrowers. For home use, I'd go for a waterrower - in fact, we did. It's lovely and you can hear the TV while rowing.... you don't get the cooling effect of a Concept II but it's worth it to be quiet enough not to wake the kids.…

The fruit one for me too. If I eat fruit early in the day, I'm a whole lot more likely to have a good food day.

I hate that - where you want to make healthy choices and there's mayo in everything, or cream sauce, or butter, or sugar added to stuff that doesn't need it. Also, it's really hard not to eat more than you want once it's there in front of you (that can be a packed lunch problem too though). Taking your own lunch is great.…

Lighterlife and Slimfast are both calorie-limiting diets, as you've identified, and all she's doing is leaving it to someone else to count her calories. She's still been calorie-counting and it has worked for her. But there's no point arguing with her, she's not ready to take responsibility and to change the way she eats…

Thank you! A lovely response. I hear you with "anything containing sugar or fat and salt"! Thank you for friends requests, feel free anyone, as I'd like that support.

Amazing progress in such a short time! You've cheered me up with your post. Get that raincoat! Or walk in the rain and have a shower when you get back?
