Sounds good...might even throw some shrimp in there! Thanks!

Bookmarking for me and a mfp friend who has a cooking blog! Thanks!

That is so horrible. Good for you for helping her. People suck.

Another bizarre one. Guy who frequently gets on the elliptical next to me is straight out of 1972. He has an afro, short shorts, tube socks, headband, and AIR DRUMS to his ipod music very enthusiastically. He's like a Will Ferrell skit.

This isn't *bad*, just bizarre. The woman on the elliptical in front of me last year was eating FRENCH FRIES while working out. I'm not joking. She had a to-go box from somewhere and was chomping away!

Awww for some reason your post made me a little teary! I get the feeling that you are ready, and if you are truly ready you will succeed! Feel free to add me as a friend if you want to. Jennifer

This thread is funny. I have so many, but here are a few: 1. The mother in sweats who walked her children into the preschool every day with the bluetooth device in her ear. The funniest part of that is there was no cell reception in the school. She looked like an idiot. 2. Bad spelling. Call me ignorant, but I just don't…

Welcome to both you and Ashli and good luck with P90! I'm 2/3 way through Insanity and loving it! Jennifer

Test your scales with a hand weight to see what is accurate, or as the posters have said, just pick one and go with it!

Phil - fabulous post. Keep at it! I too have seen the light. I have never been overweight, per se, but more up and down 15 pounds a year and not a very healthy eater. I've changed my eating habits and really challenged myself with my workouts this year (Insanity!!) and I have never felt better. Have a great day! Jennifer

Welcome and good luck! Feel free to send me a friend request!

I frequently do 60 minutes on the elliptical, which burns 600-700 a session. I'm also doing Insanity workouts, which burn 300-500 depending on the day. But before that, I was mainly an elliptical girl (off and on major knee issues!), about 5 days a week. These days I am definitely burning about that, but it's because I'm…

Interesting question, because I just changed my goal. I am 5'9" (a smidge under) and my original goal was 138, a weight I reached three years ago by just watching what I eat and exercising. Nothing crazy. Well I'm about 2/3 way through Insanity, and I am 150 now and pretty damn happy with how I look! I'd like to lose about…

You are adorable. Great great work!!

Sooo much to read, need to mark for later! I'm 2/3 through Insanity and it has changed not only my body, but my attitude about the ridiculousness of the scale at my height/weight (5'9" / 152). I look so much better than I did when I weighed 10 pounds less but did mostly the elliptical. I will be adding higher weight…

Yes, it's true. A pound is a pound. But what people are referring to when they say that is that muscle is denser than fat, so yes, you can be losing fat and gaining muscle. I know because that's exactly what has happened to me. The scale isn't moving, yet I've never looked better.
-
I have finally had the revelation that the scale means little. After losing a quick ten pounds, the scale has not moved in a MONTH. I have done great with my eating, and I'm doing "Insanity". Day after day, I go up and down two pounds, but day after day I can honestly look at myself and I look better! In fact, I look…

I know exactly what you mean. I only have a couple of friends but they are also doing Insanity with me, so when I finish a workout I want to post it immediately so they're "proud" of me. Nice workout by the way. Isn't it great?

I am leaving in 1.5 weeks for trip to Hawaii with my husband - kids are staying with grandparents!

Ohhhhh I never thought of that. I might throw a Wholly Guacamole 100-cal pack in with it tomorrow....thanks for the suggestion! Maybe add some chopped tomatoes and red onion too!

Sophia Abigail and Cooper Grant I make baby bibs and burp cloths for a living....I see all sorts of crazy names. At times the weird spellings are enough to make me want to throw my embroidery machine out the window. --Jennifer (www.babysophiagifts.com)

Girls night in Philly with three best friends from college, one in town from LA! Lots of vino and I've earned it!!

You know what's so screwed up about the childhood obesity problem. The schools. I'm always the "homeroom mom" in charge of the parties . The school rule is that you can't have any candy or serve any food over 100 calories a serving or with sugar as the first ingredient. This is public school in Pennsylvania. I'm pretty…

If the avocados aren't ripe, go for the "Wholly guacamole" in the salad section of the grocery store. I buy the 100 cal packs and put them on turkey wraps - LOVE IT!!!
-
Just put a hand weight on your scale to see if it's accurate.

So many people did a good job with the suggestions and motivation. I'm just going to say one thing. You need to put your partner in his place - a long conversation about what the meaning of "partner" is would be a good start. Second, my kids' world would come to a quick end if they made fun of me. Too many kids these days…

Have whatever two drinks are your favorite - just try to to work it into your calories! I like my drinks once in a while, and for those who can just delete that from their life - good for you. But I think that's just silly. There are very few things you should just never have. Enjoy life! Have a great night out!

I wanted to say one more thing. I've had three ACL reconstructions on my left knee, and never in my wildest dreams did I think Insanity would be possible. My knee hurts sometimes, but then again it pretty much hurts in general no matter what I do. So if you have knee issues, don't automatically count yourself out. I know…

Hi everyone, I'm on week 4. I lost about 10 pounds in the two weeks before I started (lots of water weight after the holidays!) and since I started Insanity I am still just about that same weight. I actually just keep going up and down a couple of pounds. THAT SAID, I look completely different. I stupidly did not do…
