Thanks for the info. It answered some things I was thinking about. I'm in week 2 now and started from scratch. I feel kinda silly at times lifting so light, but I realize its really important to work on form. @Mike: I wouldn't mind a more active group. Any tips you have that can help are welcome. :)

It's an easy source of protein. It's jummy It makes you feel full for a long time. It's cheap. "...how do you know if you need to be drinking them?" It's easier to meet your macros. You dont NEED them. If you get all the protein you need then don't use it. I find it pretty usefull, taste good and I don't feel like I'm…

oh really? I just did everything. Telling the one chick she's gorgeous during warmup, comparing shoes with that other guy. Telling myself to put ego aside and use something lighter (then for some reason a few seconds later he says "nobody is lifting more then me" and he picks heavier weights lol

Smoking works for me, this is why quitters usually gain weight as they confuse cravings with hunger, though its probably not the answer you're looking for. ;) I've been spreading out my meals more. Instead of having 1 big portion, make it 2 smaller ones an hour apart. Also; plan ahead when you'll eat what. It's much easier…

This thread is pure gold! Every single comment just oozes with jealousy from friends or family that clearly need to work on themselves but don't have the motivation for it.

10 weeks in Stronglifts should already show a good result. I hope you took measurements and / or photos before you started. For me; my weight goes up and down quite a bit, but when I jump on the scale and it shows that my bodyfat % is down I dont care about a kg more or less. I feel like bf and measurements are a better…

I usually just tell them that I'm trying to lose some weight and that I'd prefer them supporting me rather then giving me **** for it. Friends usually stop then. Another thing that helped me is saying that this doesn't mean that i'll never drink again, just not for the next 4-6 weeks or so. Follow this up with some short…

Ah yes I saw your post when you were giving 'advise' to someone and got some negative replies. :) Seriously, read these 4 articles : http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10665-newbies-please-read-me-2nd-edition especially the 1st (quite long but very interesting and stimulating to read) and last article. I was kind of…

this is a very good read: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/3047-700-calories-a-day-and-not-losing Also check the sticky "Newbies please Read ME 2" forum link: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10665-newbies-please-read-me-2nd-edition the articles may seem a bit long but they're VERY interesting and helped me a…

I also would have preferred to see more low calorie varieties. But still it was fun to see how much calories you take in while eating a BigMac for example. If I come across a similar vid with healthy foods ill post it here :)

Well either I select the wrong coffee from the database (which just shows up as 1 cal) or you're having a really fancy cup of coffee with tons of milk and sugar or something. I drink loads of tea and water and usually dont bother with adding it to my diary.
