I have had 4 kids.... and they were from 8-10 lbs (not small). My stomach is flat. How do you add a picture in here??

That is awesome! I ran a 5k with my daughter, age 9 also, on St. Patrick's Day. We had the BEST time. Tomorrow we are running another one together!

My man says mine are his thumb holders. :)

Amen, sister!! Having your period is not a disability.

Running burns more per mile than walking.... in general.

1. It's great! Tracks calories at rest and when walking, climbing stairs, etc. 2. I wear mine clipped to my bra. That probably won't work for you. ;) 3. Yes, it automatically syncs. 4. No, I don't necessarily know if it has sync'd.... I input my food and exercise on MFP. I look to see that Fitbit numbers match MFP numbers…

The other thing to keep in mind is that regular running shoes actually encourage heel striking because of the way they are built. The heels are higher relative to the forefoot. I used to be a terrible heel striker. I wore stability shoes and orthotics because I thought my problem was over-pronation. I had chronic shin…

Swimming, walking, biking, yoga, pilates, weight training...... anything but running and jumping.

I've known a few people who were Gel Kayanos and like them a lot.

I feel like my running and fitness level right now is such that I could pretty much go out and run a half marathon without much training. It wouldn't be pretty, necessarily. But, I know I can easily do that distance.

Lululemon Run Inspire Crops! They have gotten me through 2 marathons!!

Well I ended up getting a Polar FT7 hrm..... and I compared the two. I get about 105 calories per mile running with the polar and only 78 calories per mile with the Garmin. And I agree... that calorie count sounds WAY too low for rowing.

LeighPeele.com Lots of good stuff on this topic.

Yeah - not to mention bragging rights and a very righteous medal!! ;)

Have you had any trouble with the lower carbs? Some people can do distance running just fine without carb overload. I am one of them. So before you jump off your diet and start monkeying with your intake - why not try what you are doing already and see how the longer runs feel for you. With regards to how to fuel before…

I have an FT7..... It works for my needs. I still wear my Garmin for running, but the Polar is good for indoor cardio activities.

Well considering I did not get into the NYC marathon lottery drawing today..... this is probably the next best thing. My mother (age 64) wants to do the half. I will probably do the Goofy Challenge - half marathon on day 1 and then the full marathon on day 2.
-
Do some light activity the day before. Don't over-think it. You will be fine.

I found one (sandbag, that is ) for $30 at ****s Sporting Goods.

I am just finishing month 1 of Insanity. I'm in good shape..... work out consistently for the past 6 or 7 years, have run marathons, etc. Insanity is pretty demanding physically mainly because of all the jumping. I would probably not add any running to it. I have been running occasionally since starting the program, but…

I'm under the impression that what most people consider "bulky" muscle is actually a nice, thick layer of fat on top!! I have a similar issue with my thighs...... and I'm coming to terms with it. Just gotta lose that fat!!

Hey - I'm in CT too! :) I recommend Runnersworld.com Smart Coach. There's a mobile app too. I have used it for last 3 marathons.... and you can customize the distance you are training for.

With the lips, hair extensions, and boobs... Lisa is morphing into Zuzana! Freddy must like only one type. :ohwell:

you can strengthen the muscles of your legs, but if the problem is really skin that is loose..... not much you can do about it. :(

My favorite is the half marathon....long enough to feel like a big race. But, not so long that it kicks your *kitten* for 2 days after! That said.... the full mary is the gold standard. And even though it's grueling and I swear I will never do another.... I always find myself coming back to it. NYC marathon lottery drawing…

Lululemon. Nuff said.

I had a Garmin Forerunner 205 (which is exactly like the 305 except no HRM). It served me very well for several years. I run and bike I recently upgraded to a Garmin Forerunner 405cx which is smaller and has a HRM strap too. Most of the runners I know use Garmin and I don't think you will go wrong!

I'm a distance runner and I am in my 4th week of Insanity. It's very challenging, but I'm liking it. I feel like I get a good work out. I haven't weighed myself since starting, but I don't feel like I have lost tons of weight. My pants are fitting looser though.... especially thigh area. Plus Shaun T. is easy on the eyes.…
