  • Honestly you sound just like me. I worked out and stayed within a certain calorie limit for YEARS and lost nothing. I had every blood work done under the sun and nothing major wrong with me. Finally went to see a nutritionist who deals with athletes, models, and figure competitors (I figure he's seen it all). He took one…
  • Look up high protein muffin recipes. Most have no nuts. I've made chocolate, pumpkin, and carrot versions. You can make them a little flatter or thicker for cookies. I've had pumpkin bars made with protein powder and pumpkin puree. A little sticky but get the job done.
  • That's what happened to me until I nailed my nutrition down. Now they are an inch smaller with much more defintion. I had to drop the body fat to see it.
  • Wow, thanks everyone for the advice. I will check out the running form website. I am a heal-striker when I run for sure which may be the problem. I'm also very uptight when I run thinking I'm trying to hold form. You guys are life savers! Thanks!
  • I'm curious about this too but worried the effects on a women's body and hormones. Women, did it mess up your cycles or hormones doing this?
  • I feed my 10 yr old pug Science Diet small bites. Any time we switch she gets sick so we are sticking with it. Warning about pugs: They shed so ridiculously much that had I known, I may not have gotten one. They are very sharp hairs that plug your vaccum, stick in your couch, and even give your splinters. You also have to…
  • bump, I'm VERY interested in this and your trainer is AWESOME!!!
  • I would just cut your calories down and your milk production will go down. I would also pump and feed through a bottle so you can control your weaning better. Like pump 7oz each pump, then 6oz, then 5oz and so on every couple of days. I had a HUGE milk supply (40+ a day with both kids) and couldn't just wean normally…
  • You may have food issues but what you're describing sounds similar to when my gallbladder stopped working. Super bloated after eating anything sometimes vomiting or stomach pain but mostly super, duper bloated. I had to have my gallbladder taken out immediately. I was in my early 20s at the time. Another issue may be a…
  • Something isn't right. RMRs are usually in the 1200 to 1600 range. I don't think it's even possible to have an RMR in the high 2000. Maybe total daily energy expenditure but not resting metabolic rate. I did the same test and it came to 1478 and she said it was very high compared to most peoples.
  • I just saw on Women's Health that antibiotics may help people actually lose weight. Not sure what the reasoning was. Anyways, I've been on antibiotics for a year now and haven't really seen a change in my weight. I'm not losing like I want either but that's a whole other story. I think they do make you hungrier sometimes.…
  • Bump
  • I mean to say if I tried this (fasting in the morning) for a couple of weeks would it change my blood sugar levels for the better or would it make it worse (or just make me pass out at the gym!).
  • I read the article, very interesting. I just don't undestand how it would work for someone who is insulin resistant. Insulin resistant people tend to dump sugars in the night waking with high blood sugar. Food is needed to counter this or the sugars can go even higher. On the other side, they go exercise and their sugars…
  • Even if she nets lower during the week and blows it on the weekends, the total net should be fine for the week and you should still lose weight. Or does it not work that way? I'm asking because for the longest time I ate lighter during the week and whatever I wanted on the weekend and lost weight very slowly a few years…
  • My husband has issues with maintaining weight. He can only do 10 min cardio before hitting the weights really hard. Plus lots of protein and weight gainer smoothies in between meals. Careful not to eat just crap though. His cholesterol is high now so you have to be careful with that!
  • What has happened to Lindsey Lohan? She looks terrible. And what happened to her butt? It disappeared! Ridin' hard and hung up wet is what I like to call her. And yes you look much sexier!!!
  • What is considered low carb? I, in fact, had my gallbladder removed two weeks after starting the Atkins diet back when it was popular. Literally stopped working. I was doing no carbs at the time.
  • Wow. I had no idea this was such a hot topic. Thanks for all the responses. I'll try to answer some of the questions/comments. Some history. I got gestational diabetes with my second child when I was 8 weeks pregnant and started insulin a few weeks later. I took diabetes classes and had a diabetic nurse who I worked with…
  • You are probably lactose intolerant. Try pure whey isolate instead. I couldn't figure out why I was so sick after my protein shakes and I mentioned it to the guy at GNC and he said the whey isolate was the only one without lactose. I started with GNC brand but it tastes nasty so now I'm on to ISO100. Delicious and doesn't…
  • I am laughing histerically at this thread! I have always wondered the same thing! hahahahahaha
  • Childcare, childcare, childcare. Try walking or running outside with a double stroller and two kids constantly needing you to stop and help with something. Not really exercise. I prefer an hour to myself to really get a good workout. Then if it's nice outside, I'll take the kids to the park!!
  • Skinnilicious Factory Chopped Salad!!! I could eat it every day. Stay far, far away from the cheesecake. We made the mistake of getting the reese's cheesecake a few weeks ago and I cried when I saw the calorie count for ONE slice.....1300!!!!
  • I think it can. I'm starting to think I have a wheat intolerance as I already am lactose intolerant and allergic to egg. I'm very bloated all the time and have huge swings in weight but no total weight loss really to speak of. I also think it could be insulin resistance with makes me have issues with sugar. If I was able…
  • I look very close to your before picture as well. Can you tell me a little bit about your calorie intake and how long it took you? Also, I'm finding the more abs I do the more my tummy sticks out so I've cut it out completely except planks. Also my pooch gets smaller but my measurement isn't changing. Did that every happen…
  • My husband has this problem and only one thing has worked for him. Running and NO lower body workouts. He only runs and lifts heavy, heavy on upper body. I wish I had a before and after but it's dramatic. He does have a very low body fat percentage as well to get most of the fat off his legs.
  • By maintenance I mean TDEE. I believe it's somewhere around 2100-2200 calories. I feel great can get through my workouts, my day, etc. without exhaustion. I did do this for awhile and slowly gained about 3-4lbs. I've jumped my calorie targets around a bit after that with no real success (went to 1800, now down to 1500 +…
  • I actually do have a maid who comes every two weeks to do the major cleaning otherwise I wouldn't be able to keep up. We have about 4500 ft2 which is impossible to maintain alone. My husband travels a lot and I run the household. It's a good arrangement for both of us. I have a sitter sometimes or my mother comes and helps…
