I had wondered if the "zero calorie" thing was some sort of marketing ploy. That seems deceptive to me though. I'm sure people read "zero calorie" so they use lots of it, but they might actually be getting hidden calories, especially if they use the products a lot.

LOL YES. I saw some Walden Farms Ketchup in the discount bin at the grocery store the other day, and when I saw it had zero calories, I was all freaked out. I can imagine LOW calorie ketchup, but NO calorie? What in the world is this stuff?!

MSG causes migraines for me too, and yes, it's in SO many things. I have to be very careful what I eat. For the OP, here's a list of common migraine triggers: http://uhs.berkeley.edu/home/healthtopics/pdf/triggers.pdf The list is pretty extensive. The best way I've found is to keep a food diary (which is one reason I…

^^^PLEASE read this thread. Don't sacrifice your health for a "lose weight quick" scheme.

I agree. Clothing sizes are pretty subjective. I know when I was gaining weight, I didn't want to admit that I was a size 16, and I still had this ONE pair of size 14 pants that fit for some reason so I was all like "SEE LOOK I'M A 14!" So it really wouldn't surprise me if other people were doing that as well.

If you drink 2 liters of water a day, I think you're good to go without the special Jillian Michaels water. Also: 1. How can cranberry juice be sugar free? Don't cranberries naturally contain sugar? Or does it just mean "no added sugar"? 2. Why is it called "detox" water if the point is just to flush excess water? Water…

I feel like the title of this is misleading/confusing. I was expecting a "real women have curves" type rant and then the typical responses to said rant. But I think what the OP meant was to point people to a site that has actual pictures of real life women at certain height/weight ratios so you can get an idea what you…

Actually EATING fruits and veggies? Is that even POSSIBLE? O.o (Also in for the gifs. :D )

I'm not sure about the 21 days things, I'm pretty sure it's just a myth. For example, I used to have severe social anxiety and anxiety attacks when I was younger, and it took YEARS of counseling to get over that, and I still have times when I find myself falling back to old ways of thinking, although it's better now that…

I see someone else mentioned magnesium so I'll second that. Take a magnesium supplement at night, you'll be good to go by the morning.

I've been on the keto plan for a little over two months now and it's been great! :) I've lost weight, and it's helped with my acid reflux (no longer taking medicine and I had been taking it daily) and some other stomach issues. Also I feel more energetic now, and I've noticed I sleep better as well. So those have been a…

But to eat less would require self-discipline and sacrifice! Certainly it would be easier if some big government agency just doled out my daily allotment. Then I could be skinny and not even have to work for it! Except that this article says it's impossible to keep weight off so I guess I'd just gain it back anyway. Well…

Since this is your first post, I'll give you a little friendly advice, which is: mentioning diet pills in the forums can be dangerous. I'll agree with the other people here though, you really don't need them. Healthy diet and exercise will do it for you. We all want a way to lose faster, but think about this, you didn't…

Eating ice seems pretty rough for anyone with cavities or sensitive teeth. Maybe it makes you lose weight cause then your teeth hurt too much to eat food...

Me too. In for the commentary.

I second going to the doctor. If you're feeling lightheaded it could be a number of things. Anemia, blood sugar problems, idk. Better to be safe than sorry.
-
Good thing I'm at home, cause I totally laughed at it. LOL
-
^^^ This. Yes, it's been discussed plenty of times, and no, they won't do anything for you. The only thing they'll make lighter is your wallet. lol

My question is why are you concerned about how much weight to lose in a month? Regardless of what diet you're on, there's only so much weight you can loose (healthily) in a month. This is a pretty extreme diet, I would not recommend for someone just trying to lose weight quickly.
-
^^^ This. But to answer your question, no it's a gimmick. There is no magic weight loss pill. You need to count calories, exercise, eat at a deficit, etc. etc.

Excellent thread! I'm saving for a clothes spending spree when I reach my target weight! That should probably be mid to late summer at my current rate, so the first thing will be some shorts & tank tops. Fall is my favorite season though, so when fall is closer I'm gonna buy some cute sweaters, boots, corduroys, scarves,…

I normally log right before each meal, but if I know I'm going out to a restaurant or something later in the day I'll prelog what I plan on ordering so I know how many calories I have to work with for the rest of the day.

Personally I don't do sugar substitutes because they do not agree with me at all, but if you can tolerate them then sugar free jello is a cheap/easy option. However, I would suggest trying to satisfy a sweet tooth with fruits or perhaps a really dark chocolate. I've gotten used to the 85%-90% dark chocolate, and I find…

Me too! LOL

I do feel a little sluggish during workouts. I'm still relatively new to the idea of keto in general (It's been about 6 weeks) so mostly I'm just trying to get feedback from people who are more familiar with the TKD approach and whether it was useful to them or not. It seems it is for some people but for some people it…

Thanks so much for the input! Based on my current weight (173) that would be 29.95 g of carbs. I think I'm going to try this method and see how it works. It sounds like it will be a good fit for my goals. The keto plan has been great so far for weight loss, but I really want to start focusing on exercise now too.

Pop-tarts seem to get a lot of flack on the message boards for some reason. LOL Personally I like the strawberry and the chocolate fudge the best, but for some reason Pop-tarts make me have crazy acid reflux so I've stopped eating them. :(

From what I understand, erythritol is just fine for keto dieters. I see it used in a lot of recipes. I don't use Stevia personally because I'm allergic to it. :( I've been using Xylitol myself, because it's one of the few alternative sweeteners I can consume without some side effects. I don't use very much very often…

^^ This. It's easy to get stuck on the past, but just keep focusing on the goal. You've done great so far with your consistent logging in and the weight loss. Just keep reminding yourself of your progress and keep focusing on your goal. Also adding more friends on MFP helps with motivation. Feel free to add me if you'd…

I chose my goal weight similar to how you chose yours. At my healthiest, when I was younger and working out all the time, I weighed 150 and wore a size 8, so I'd like to get back to that. I'm 5'5" and a lot of those weight charts say that I need to weigh 135. The only time I have ever weighed that low was after being sick…
