How about a burger but with 2 slices of pizza instead of buns?
-
Agreed. You need to give it time to see the results. And a pound a week is a perfectly fine rate for weight loss.

Oh, wow, this looks delicious! I was just looking for some yummy low carb soup recipes. Fall is here and I need some soup! Thanks! :)

I can think of so many reasons. 1. Marketing. Jenny Craig/Weight Watches/Slim Fast/etc. have put tons of money into advertisements, so when people think "I should go on a diet" they'll probably be likely to think of one of those. MyFitnessPal isn't really putting out lots of ads, I only know about it from a friend who…

Awwww, don't burst my bubble. I like eating a huge baked potato and logging it as 80 calories!!! LOL But seriously, all fruits and veggies need to be weighed for accuracy. I see listings in the database for things like "small apple" and I'm like "What does that mean?" My idea of small could be pretty different from someone…

My husband's beard isn't as long as yours, but he DOES have the styled stache, so I'm gonna have to agree on this one.

I mostly have disbelief at the store. I've gone from a 16 to a 10. So I get the 10's off the rack to take to the fitting room and I'm thinking "There's NO way these will fit, they look so SMALL." But then they fit and I'm like "Whoa!" Haha

Kimchi - Your thoughts? My thoughts = YUM. Especially if you can get it homemade! I've never tried making it myself, but I've had some friends give me some that they made and it was DELICIOUS. Maybe I need to get onboard and learn how to make it myself.

I don't do fast food very often these days, but back when I used to eat fast food a lot, Wendy's was one of my faves. I'd get the homestyle chicken sandwich, with lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions (You have to ask to add the pickles and onion.) Then I'd either get fries and dip them in honey mustard sauce, or I'd get the…

Flintstones chewables, HECK YEAH! My parents had to keep those things locked up!

I actually started by doing a LCHF/Ketogenic diet, but realized what I was doing was basically the Primal Blueprint anyway, since I didn't do the processed foods like some people on low carb plans do. Basically all that left was meats, eggs, full fat dairy, low carb veggies, occasional nuts and berries. I like this way of…

One "cleanse" that's guaranteed to work! :D

That's pretty much my day as well.

Protein!!! If you're doing that few calories, you probably don't wanna use up a big chunk of your calories for the day on potato chips or candy or things that won't be satiating. Try chicken breasts, fish fillets, eggs, yogurt, etc. Also add big portions of veggies with your meals, lots of fiber and not a lot of calories.…

I make my own cold-brew iced coffee at home in a French press. I use a little heavy cream, no sweetener. YUM! :D

I like a cup of decaf Earl Grey with cream and a square or two of dark chocolate in the evenings. :)

One tip for the dry meat: Invest in a meat thermometer. I use mine everyday. Normally meat gets dry because it's over-cooked, and chicken breasts are one of the worst for that. Chicken only needs to cook to 165 F, and if you go way over that it gets dry. The dark meat chicken is a little more forgiving because it has more…

I just remembered I needed to come back to this thread. Had a few rainy days at the beginning of this month and I didn't go walking. :( But here's my walks so far: 8/4 = 1.65 miles (30 minutes) 8/6 = 1.65 miles (30 minutes) Total so far = 3.3 miles. I need to step up my game!

Here's some of the stuff I used to eat back in those days: Tuna- cheap, don't need to cook. Get the packets, then you don't have to worry about draining it. Oatmeal- cheap and easy to make in the microwave. Lunch meats, cheese, peanut butter, jelly, bread = sandwiches, cheap and easy. Fruit can be expensive, but sometimes…

Taco Bell does the same to me unfortunately. Even just the plain old regular soft tacos. :( It didn't used to be that way... I don't know if I'm getting old or their food quality is just going down the tubes... LOL

I say forget Splenda AND sugar! I like my coffee with cream only! But if I had to choose, I'd just go with the sugar. Splenda tastes nasty.

I don't think they're "bad" but they're really not very much food for the money you spend on them. I would eat them, then be hungry again later and end up snacking, so I don't know that they ever did much to help with dieting. lol

I thought so as well. Glad I'm not the only one.

I agree with this assessment.

I'm following a low carb plan as well. I'll send you a friend request. :)

A few of my suggestions: Is this a gathering where people are bringing dishes to share? If so, bring something you know you'd want to eat that fits into your diet. Also you could try having some food before you arrive, then you won't be as hungry/tempted to eat too much. Or think about the foods that will be there and…

I'm in for the walking challenge!

I used to eat Kraft Mac and Cheese ALL THE TIME. Then my gallbladder decided to go defective, and ever since then whenever I eat it, I feel terrible later... :( On the plus side, though, it did cause me to have to learn how to make homemade mac n cheese to fulfill those cravings... and I've gotten really good at it! :)
