  • ^^^This. Why would anyone tell you NOT to eat those specific foods, unless you were allergic or something?
  • Congrats, and keep up the great work! :) :flowerforyou:
  • Dark chocolate and fresh bing cherries, with a cup of decaf Earl Grey. :)
  • I'm going to have to agree with the others stating that you need to complete you diary accurately each day. If you're not logging everything, how do you know that you're not going over your calories for the day? I know it's a hassle sometimes, you can try pre-logging in the morning or the night before. That's normally what…
  • I told myself I'd go to the salon and get a nice new hairstyle for my 30 lb. mark, and it was great! :)
  • Haha, I ACTUALLY laughed out loud...
  • ^^^This. I was about to post this link myself, but someone beat me to it. Great info there. One "cheat" isn't going to make you gain 7 pounds of fat. 3500 calories to gain one pound x 7 pounds = 24,500 extra calories consumed. So unless your "cheat" was to eat like 10 whole pizzas washed down by 10 liters of soda, you're…
  • Never even heard of this diet, so I had to Google it.... From their webpage: "While in the first phase you will cut your caloric intake to 1,000 calories per day and also start to supplement using our specialized drops." So you have to cut your calories to 1000 for the drops to work? If you lose weight it's the calorie…
  • ^^^This. Your calories are super low. You're not going to be able to get much protein on those calories, unless you eat nothing but protein. Try upping your calories, at least to 1200 if not more. Some foods with lots of protein are Greek yogurt and chicken breasts, I eat those pretty often myself.
  • I agree with this. I don't think any diet is going to be sustainable long term if either A. You're restricting yourself from ever having foods you like, or B. You are trying to eat foods you don't like just because they are "good" foods. I would suggest trying to figure out how to eat the things you like, but in…
  • Now that sounds like something worth trying, that doesn't involve me spending $100+ on a bag of magic Shakeology mix.... LOL Thanks for the recipe, I might give it a shot! :drinker:
  • I nominate you as spam moderator! (I'm pretty sure that's not how it works, but I totally wish I could nominate someone to deal with this mess...)
  • I tried the South Beach Diet once like 10 years ago when I was in college and my roommate talked me into it. I only lasted a few days. I discovered Splenda didn't agree with my stomach after sucking down sugar free ice cream pops for a few days. I also discovered too much vinegar didn't settle too well with me either after…
  • I was always pretty thin/in shape during my teenage and young adult years, then I think a few things happened: 1. I moved from the boonies into a city where I could get fast food and food delivery, and I felt the need to eat fast food like EVERY MEAL to make up for all the years I'd been deprived. LOL 2. I got married and…
  • I don't know if you have access to a gym or YMCA or something like that, but water aerobics is good for that. I went to a water aerobics class with my husband's grandma once and I thought it was pretty fun. I would do that if I joined a YMCA, but I was just there on a guest pass. I think most YMCA's that have a pool offer…
  • I know, I didn't want to spend money on "in between" clothes either, but I finally caved and went to a thrift store and found a couple of pairs of jeans on the 99 cent rack, and grabbed a few tank tops. Now I pretty much have to rotate through those few things, but I'm only 10 pounds from my goal now, so I wanna save my…
  • I did the same thing last year! I had gotten up to a size 16 and thought "I'm never gonna lose this weight!" so I took all the size 10's and 12's out and gave them to a thrift store. Now I've lost 30 pounds and I'm down to a 12 again, almost a 10 and all my clothes are SOOOO baggy. I had those small clothes for years too,…
  • Bacon, eggs and coffee! :D
  • Coffee table. LOL
  • I don't have a kitchen table. My husband and I have a really tiny house, and since we never ate at the table anyway, we just got rid of it because it was taking up too much space. Sometimes I wonder if it would be better to eat at a table though, but now we don't have one... lol
  • Hi! I've been doing LCHF since April and I've lost 29 lbs so far. Some good high fat foods I love are avocado, bacon, sour cream, and heavy whipping cream (in my coffee). Also try adding butter or olive oil on your veggies at meal time to increase your fat macro. When you count carbs, are you counting net carbs (Which is…
  • Yes, it's okay. I've lost 29 lbs since April and I go out to eat a lot. Olive Garden, Chilis, Five Guys, Chipotle, Starbucks, Wendy's.... That's why MFP is great, I can still eat what I want, just make sure it fits into my calorie count for the day. I wouldn't last very long if I just deprived myself of the things I wanted…
  • "Water cleanses" can be dangerous. When I worked in the emergency room there was a woman who came in who had been doing that. Basically by consuming copious amounts of water without eating any food, she had ended up with a serious electrolyte imbalance. This can cause serious cardiac problems and even be fatal.…
  • Honestly I don't know how to answer. You say you're doing everything you can, but what does that mean? How long have you been working at this? Also you're trying to lose 27.5 lbs in a little over two months, which I don't think would be very realistic at your current weight. The less you weigh the longer it takes to come…
  • 1) age: 30's 2) approximate weight: 166 3) physical location. Virginia 4) activity level. Light exercise 5) How often do you exercise? 3-4 times/week 6) Do you eat breakfast? Yes 6) what is your largest meal of the day? Dinner 7) how many times a day do you eat? 3-4 8) how much water do you drink? 8-10 cups 9) how do you…
  • I hope losing weight doesn't make me any paler, cause I'm already about as white as it gets! Seriously though, no it won't. I hope you're not wanting to be lighter. When I was younger I always wanted to be tan/darker, cause I'm so pale and people commented on it a lot. Now I'm totally happy with the way I am. I…
  • Unless the doc can give you some legit medical reason, it seems like he's just spouting off his opinion. That's my take on it anyway.
  • You can lose weight eating oatmeal and fruit. I don't think the carbs matter. They're not going to stop you from losing weight if you're eating at a calorie deficit.
  • You're welcome! :) I've never trusted the MFP exercise calculators either. For now I try to just not eat back all of the calories it estimates, but now that I've gotten more serious about exercising lately, I'm saving to get a FitBit. I know the closer I get to my goal, the more stubborn that weight will be, so I'll need…
  • How are you determining the amount of calories burned? Myfitnesspal is notorious for over-estimating the calories burned, so if you're eating back based on what MFP calculates, you might actually have more net calories than you think. You would get a more accurate measure of calories burned using FitBit or a similar…
