Thanks for the info spinderella. Can I add you as a friend and ask you technical questions relating to metabolism?

Doctors don't get money from pharmaceutical reps, unless it's under the table. And as some said earlier, only the doctor performing the surgery would get paid if it's a private practice. Referral fees are most likely regulated differently per state, some allow it and some don't.

Scientific study below if anyone is interested on endurance training vs HIIT. I only read the abstract but it said that those who did who did HIIT burned more fat than endurance even though the endurance people ran twice as far and had 5 extra weeks of training. Some key words for those that dont know, Adiposty is another…

No, HIIT workouts will increase your metabolism for the entire day. With a treadmill she can sprint, jog, sprint, jog, and sprint to boost her heart rate. This will increase thermogenesis by exercising, just another word for metabolism.

Try BCAA. Bodybuilders use it. They are a select group of proteins. There is some research that says it makes hunger go away.
-
Get a new doctor? How heavy are you if you don't mind answering and height? I'm just curious why he would recommend an operation. Maybe it's a private practice so he gets more $ that way.

No, it only seems that way because your skin adheres back slowly. The most important factor in this is AGE. Pinch a new born baby's bottom and watch it snap right back into place. Pinch a 70 year old man's skin and watch it sag. We know that skin elasticity can take as long as 2 years to adhere back to a mom who just gave…

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/339-juddd That's the judd forum but you can come to the intermittent fasting forum for tips too.
-
Start with whatever you feel comfortable with but it doesn't matter as long as you get started. There is a JUDD group here if you want more info.

Link to them below if you haven't found it yet. Love those guys. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSdwdWnTRlQ

LOL, I was wondering if anyone would catch that.

It's just advice. DWTFYWTD

Bob Harper in his new book, forgot what it's called, and Mike Chang's quicksixpacks are the only names I can think of that preach drinking water before each meal. I'm guessing Jullian Michaels does too but I haven't had a chance to look at her plan but she works with Bob so she probably does. O yeah, Chris Powell also…

Drink 2 full glasses of water before each meal and snack to trick your stomach into thinking that it's full. That's what most fitness pros recommend. When you get tired of spending most of your day in the bathroom, just don't eat in the morning.
-
Don't eat in the morning. Problem solved.
-
No, you're not a Binge eater. It's normal that your body wants to eat until you hit your calorie count for the day. If you have a large deficit, it's most likely the cause with the combination of nibbling on 200-300 calorie foods a day. Your body naturally wants to eat until it's full when you first start eating in the…

Try and follow leangains guide for gaining muscle. Eat after you fast and eat at maintenance since you don't want to cut.

It's called intermittent fasting and it's considered healthy.

Try BCAAs. Makes your hunger go away if you have a craving. Bodybuilders use it.
-
The best way to describe it is to watch Michael Mosley's documentary called Eat, Fast, and Live longer. It's only a Google search away.

Thank you for saying something intelligent. I agree that the medical field is always ongoing, with new research in progress, and the ability to recognize this is the difference between a good or bad RD. On another note at a different comment, I feel it was a cheap shot to point out physical attributes of said Dietitian but…
-
I've already posted a comment from a Dietition on skipping breakfast two pages back, see link below. What's hilarious is you constantly coming back to this thread to defend your Dietitian status with the same old "I'm Dietitian so I'm right and you're wrong" approach. Do you ever have anything intelligent to say other than…

Thanks for posting some useful information. I found something interesting in one of the abstracts of the third paper. Maybe it was human or test subject error? I wonder if there are more papers with the same results. .
-
All I know is that it uses the same equation any TDEE calculator uses minus exercise.
-
I believe you missed my point. The results of the study are skewed as the reason those people are living longer is most likely due to modern day medicine, weather it be triple bypass surgery or drugs, but not because they have a higher than average BMI. Quote below from your research link. .
-
But how many of those people are living off of drugs? You can live a very long time with diabetes as long as you take drugs. Not sure how many people want to live like that.

It's not a myth. NLF offensive lineman have a higher mortality rate than the general public. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/29/sports/football/29weight.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 .

It really doesn't matter as long as you exercise sometime during the day. There is some science around when you should eat during your exercise routine but it's getting down to the nitty-gritty things that only matter if you are trying to get a really low body fat. I have a hypothesis that it is actually better to exercise…

I've ran into a few posts in which people said that your organs will shut down, hair will fall out, and nails will brittle if you eat below BMR. Only on these forums!
