Thanks everyone! I can't wait to get back into it :) Good luck to you all as well!

No secret :) Just determination! Everything else will follow. I've been struggling with my weight for awhile now too, and what I've realized works best for me is making small changes. Rather than saying "Okay, I'm cutting out all sugar, I won't eat this anymore, I will do this this and that..." its better to say "Okay, the…

I understand what you mean, sometimes its hard to get your partner to take the leap with you. But once you start losing the weight, and the healthy food and exercise starts becoming your permanent lifestyle, she'll hop on the band wagon too :) Good luck!

I'm really sorry for your loss, but sometimes the best things take a wake up call to get going. I remember hearing a story about a guy who had an asthma attack or something on a plane, and he thought he was going to die. Even though that incident seemed horrific, he used that to turn his life around, lost weight, and ended…

I wouldn't worry too much about sugar from fruits, or even yogurt (but it depends on the brand). Sugar from those "healthy" sources is good for you, and isn't like, say, candy. I'd recommend getting either vanilla or plain greek yogurt and adding your fruit, and maybe a dash of nonfat yogurt. I eat yogurt and fruit…

I usually try to eat about 75% of my calorie allowance, rather than the entire amount, because I feel many exercise estimates are way off. I typically have no problem with this because I love to eat =X Some of my favorite snacks: frozen grapes, chobani yogurts, sauteed veggies (with olive oil, not butter), and the good old…

The Wii Fit Hula Hoop estimates somewhere between 150 and 200 calories for a full hour... seriously? :( I didn't want to enter a new exercise since I don't know for sure, so I ended up going with "belly dancing" which gives me around 289. This makes me feel like it was a terrible workout.... lol
-
Omg. I definitely have to try this! I've been missing my dessert....
-
Thanks everybody for the great advice! I'm definitely gonna pull up my panties and get myself to these classes, I'm so excited! One last question- any specific clothing for Hot Hula? I looked up a video and everyone was wearing these skirt thingies...

I personally generally get discouraged by checking myself on the scale. Its really a personal preference, you just need to see and understand how you react. I prefer to check myself every 2 weeks to a month.

You look GREAT! Keep up the amazing work! And don't get rid of those photos, those are totally keepers to show off :P
-
WOW! Are you kidding? There's a TOTAL difference! You look fabulous! You make me want to start taking pics of myself to keep me motivated XD Keep it up!

Yeparoo, I know the feeling! Over the last couple years, I binge ate and this last year I've ended up losing about 20 of those pounds. But I seem to be at a rough point... I'm at the weight I was at about 5 or 6 years ago, but I can't seem to get below it! Argh! So here's to losing those last 10-15 pounds :) Good luck!

I've never really had a problem with cramps or major mood swings, but ever since I started birth control I get pretty hormonal towards the end of my lovely lady times. So when I'm depressed, the best feeling in the world is to eat, eat, eat! So yeah, I can relate... Food just loves me... ahh! Calories go by so quickly!

Congrats! Six pounds is AWESOME!

My mom has Asics and she loves them! They were recommended to her by some coworkers. For me, I got Sketcher's Tone Ups... not because of the "gimmick" but because they're hella comfortable, and I've actually read places that if you wear them while exercising, they give you an extra "oomph" that allows your leg muscles to…

So I see the consensus is to use it for after a workout, so I'll try to keep that in mind and utilize it! Thanks guys! Also, adding stuff to it for breakfast sounds like a great idea. pkgirrl: he wasn't a trainer, just some guy at Mother's who claimed to know loads about nutrition. He talked a lot, but not in explaining…

Thanks for the offer! I bet I could find some online, I'll look it up. Thanks again :)
-
Hmm... I MUST be doing it wrong then. I'll look more into it, thanks!

If it helps you work up a sweat, it does. It depends on your level. For me, especially when mixed with pilates, it is one hell of a workout. Its also a great starter to warm you up for your weight days.
-
Thats a great idea! :) I generally tend to just put myself on one of the premade courses (weight loss, cross training, etc) and just adjust the resistance, but I'll definitely have to try this out.

I'm so scared of hot yoga! I sweat up a storm in regular yoga! XD I'm getting gradually better, but I'll definitely begin to try those out :) And as for the knee muscles, what machines would you use for that? The ones where you put the resistance behind your ankles, in a seated position, and either push up or down? Those…
-
I guess I over-spoke with "Major". My knee doesn't seem to bug me on the other machines, or in the classes, just on the bike... It must be the angle or something. I honestly don't know. But if I up the resistance, even on a slow speed, my knees ache for some reason and I can't do it more than a few minutes. Thanks for the…

Wow. I absolutely HAVE to try that apple & cheese idea! Something I would have NEVER thought about. Some of my Snacks: -Frozen Grapes -Clementines -"Healthy" Chips & Homemade Salsa -Protein Shake or Bar (Helps me feel full) -Fruit of any Kind -Homemade Fruit Parfait

Very, very good advice. I recently started taking step classes, and for awhile felt like an absolute idiot because I kept messing up (you'd be amazed at what they make you do!). I've been too chicken to try the zumba classes yet... I'd definitely have to take a friend. But I'm glad you brought this up, I just might go try…

I lovelovelove fat-free yogurt with fresh fruit. Frozen grapes. Shrimp cocktail. Salad with either light sour cream or fresh salsa. I'm sure I could think of more... but I'm tired after working out! "Clintswifey" is definitely correct in regards to exercise, though. I'm a huge snacker, and now that I've started actually…

Oh noez! I'm hoping to lose around 20 more pounds... but I love my C's :(
-
Trust me, once you get into it, it feels great because you start to see results. If you have a gym membership, I highly recommend trying out some of their classes! They're fun, a GREAT workout, and you get to meet new people :) Best of luck!
-
Ditto! Once you get into it, it starts to get addicting... especially when you start noticing changes! Good luck!

Wow, you do 30-45 min 3-4x a day?! Thats great, seriously. What type of cardio? I would REALLY recommend a step class. They're SO much fun and they really get you going. I generally mix my days up between cardio & weights. For instance: Day 1: 1 Hour Cardio/Class Day 2: 30 min Cardio/Class & 30min-1 hr weights Day 3: 1…
