To be absolutely honest - no. You can't eat the same rich, decadent or truly foodie foods that you would get at a Michelin star or the epic sauces, meats and sauces in the same way you would if you were dieting. The lifestyle change this is really annoying to say but it's true. Now you can have those portions and types of…

Unless he takes a commission there's nothing wrong in recommending whey protein shakes or brands :/ if you are a complete noob to this stuff getting advise on it is normal.

From the sounds of it you are overeating in calorie allotment. When you train, weight loss / or STS but remaining strong, healthy comes 80% your diet and 20% exercise. For example, if you're a boxer, they exercise like beasts but they're really strict on their diet still. Sorry to say it but it's the diet letting you down…

Losing / gaining weight is calories in vs calories out [with exception to those with med problems, and yes excluding the psychological reasons why people binge or starve etc]. Calories in vs calories out includes activity.

There was a fantastic programme (a BBC's Horizons) made out of the scientific research about metabolism, "natural shape", fat etc. Basically, it showed that for men and women that during a certain age window, the weight where you're at during that time SETS your "natural" weight that no matter what, you always bounce back…

But that's what I am saying. I lost weight because I wanted to. Negative comments didn't change that, but it did help initially spur me on. I am now in a professional sports team and I am the fittest I have ever been. And I am happier with myself, but from the straw poll here, it seems that not everyone turns the neg into…

Yeah, I mean it's all to do with context, if someone was like "oh get out of the way fatty" that's different to someone saying "yes, you asked, you're really overweight and unhealthy but you can change that". I have major trust issues with any form of compliment because I got the same when I was obese and guess what - at…
-
I suppose it's context but at my biggest, I never had a bad word about my size from anyone really. It was only a few negative from strangers or, well, honest comments that made me actually see how unhealthy and obese I was. I genuinely couldn't see it. I just wish people were more honest with me and didn't cart me around…

totally depends on the person. For me, I found the constant opposite (people lying and said i am fine and I don't need to lose weight) perpetuated me being huge. I was a size 22/24, obese and knew I was overweight but genuinely didn't clock how huge I was until I effectively was fat shamed. Some people go the other way and…

why punish yourself paying for and doing unsustainable gimmicks when you can effectively eat anything in moderation? Blunt but true.

To be fair, in this instance, she asked a straight forward question but since we don't know each other and we don't have all her information that relates to the question (ie most important being calorie intake) no one can truly make a judgement.

This. Also I don't need to reward myself with food, I'm not a dog.

I lost a bulk slowly but exercised throughout an plus I was in my 20s. I truly thank the constant exercise for balancing my weight loss and allowing my body to not have any loose skin.
-
It won't affect weight loss but only just digestive comfort

I've lost over 100lbs and if I can do it, anyone can :) really wanting to is the first step. Feel free to add if you want :) x

How Meticulous are you at truly counting calories in food and exercise related burns? It's always a classic of underestimating food intake and overestimating cals burnt through activity.

Oh sweet Jesus. That's my new profile pic right there. Taking it.

My sense of humour.

Bit harsh. I thought it was quite funny.

The best thing is find a sport or activity you love. Also I usually reality slap myself when I'm being lazy and truthfully think why is it acceptable to do nothing? We were built to be active, not sit around a desk all day etc. If you can find time to watch tv or even go on these forums for half an hour, you have the same…

It isn't if you're doing it healthily. I averaged around 2lbs a week until the last 7lbs and it has stayed off. I've also lost over 100lbs.
-
Better put than me. This!
-
No. Basic weight loss is always calories in VS calories out. Accurate logging on food and exercise. You could eat doughnuts all day as long as you stayed within you calorie boundaries.
-
2lbs a week loss is not aggressive for someone around 160lbs.
-
Thank God I've just eaten dinner....just saying ;P

I out it into context ... 4/5 pieces of bread or 1 bagel. Meh.

I think you look amazing. Love your figure. It depends what you find comfortable and what you want. If you want to get ripped, then strength training and lower body fat (but you don't have that much) or stay as you are and still look amazing. I do sports every day (in a pro team) (but I like having some flesh and look…

Seriously varying up your meals make a massive difference. One of the best things I learned was not cutting anything out and putting variety into your diet! Also, why drink your calories rather than eat them? If you are more for that go for soups that can be big in volume and low in calls!
