Just wondering if the majority of you that are consistently under 100, are on medication for your diabetes. I am newly diagnosed and just trying to control with diet and exercise(per doctor) and my lowest reading has been 118- I don't think I will ever see a reading below 100!!!

121- sure would like to get in the "teens"!!!!!!!

126 -- no matter what I eat the night before, I can't reduce my morning fasting reading!!!!!!

Thanks for your advice, snha -- I just was diagnosed 5 weeks ago, not on any medication and have lost 5 pounds so far with 5 more to go - weight really not an issue. I think I am going to avoid all carbs in the evening and just try a protein snack right before bedtime to see if that will have any affect on my morning…

145!!!!!!! I don't know what I am doing wrong -- my other readings are fine but my fasting goes up rather than down -- I am really depressed.

I, too, have used weather as an excuse for not exercising - too hot, too cold, too windy so when the doctor told me I had to exercise 5x per week, I joined the Y Silver Sneaker program but my insurance covers nothing so I have to pay the full cost!!! Expensive but so is going to Starbucks every day. I love their circuit…

Was 121 -- came back from exercising at Y -- 101

121-can't get lower than 120!!!

123-it is always in the low 120's but an hour later after exercising at the Y it is always around 10 points lower!!

They said the numbers should be under 160 --- so many different answers; no wonder it is so confusing to those newly diagnosed. My numbers after dinner have been good so far --- it those fasting numbers that don't want to come down.

Pleased with my afternoon #s -- before dinner -- 95; 2 hours after -- 96; but this morning, fasting is still 120!!! Can't seem to drop those numbers -- probably not eating enough protein (or any) for my bedtime snack.

I attended my first class last night; it was interesting but as many of you said, the instructor still talked about higher totals for allowable daily carb allowance than most of you recommend. I guess it is something I will need to "experiment" for myself to see what particular carbs cause problems for me. My blood sugar…
