I have several diabetic friends on My Fitness Pal but am interested in finding friends who are over 50 and diabetic. I think it would be interesting to see how we could motivate one another in controlling this disease with diet and exercise.

What is a good number for 2 hrs after meal
In my diabetes class, the instructor told us a number below 160 was acceptable. However, I thought my fasting numbers in the morning were okay if they were less than 130 but not according to most of your readings. So I am wondering what your thoughts are on after dinner readings!!!

Dandelion Tea
I subscribe to an app called "Health Tips" where you receive a daily tip; today's tip advocates the use of Dandelion Tea. It suggests "consider consuming 2 or 3 times per day to help moderate hypoglycemia and reduce sugar cravings while transitioning to a reduced carb diet". Have any of you tried this tea?

Confused about fasting blood sugar readings
When I met with my diabetes educational coordinator, she said a reading between 80-130 was acceptable for a morning fasting reading. Lancets
Do you change your lancet each time you take a reading? The diabetes educational coordinator at my clinic said I could change weekly (taking readings 2-3x per week) I know some have said they even go longer - confusing!!!

Just diagnosed
I was just diagnosed two weeks ago and won't be attending an educational class for another two weeks. I am really try to watch my carb intake but I always seem to have a high reading in the morning no matter what my meal was the night before. Is this normal?

OVER 60 AND CAN'T LOOSE A POUND!!!!!
I never had a problem loosing a few pounds until I hit 60 -- now it seems impossible. I get so frustrated that I just give up. Are any of you ladies experiencing the same problem and any suggestions?:cry:

CURVES FOR WOMEN
I am new to this site and am trying to set up my exercise log ---- I can't seem to find Curves so I entered it manually but it asks for "set and repetition" and I don't know what to do with that category. I tried "0" but it would't accept my entry. Would appreciate your help. Thanks. Cloudy
