Well my plan is to make things as low cal as possible and eat sensibly. I'm the cook so I control what goes in the food. If they don't like what I make, they can go elsewhere to eat. :happy:

Everyone has given you great advice here and I think they are right. Just remember that what we are doing here is not just another diet but a change of lifestyle, learning how to eat properly instead of indulging our every whim, which is exactly what I did before I joined MFP.

I was also wondering if we should subtract the calories we burn during exercise? I usually eat fairly close to my 1240 allowance but some days I eat a little more, especially when I have a higher calorie burn.

I usually go a little over my 1240 calorie recommendation but not much. I have hypothyroidism and my metabolism is sluggish. I feel certain that I would lose very little if I ate much more due to past attempts to lose weight. That being said I never eat under 1200 and I drink lots of water.

I mostly do a recumbent bike that measures heart rate and calories burned and do the occasional walk. Also not recorded on my exercise journal are stretches I do after the bike to keep my knees limber. Sometimes I use my weights and do some arm work too. Just nothing with impact for me. Don't have a pool and am definitely…

I can't do most of these (artificial knees). Anything with impact is out for me so I will miss out again on the exercise challenges and just do the water part. I still do not have the challenges tab on the bottom of my spreadsheet, but I have been going on my daughter's computer and the tab is on the spreadsheet there?…

I am not looking forward to the holidays as this is my first year here and I know my family will insist on the high fat, high calorie foods that I can't even begin to incorporate into my 1240 a day allowance. Planning on cutting fat where I can, less butter in the mashed potatoes and the sweet potato casserole and fat free…

I love it and it is the only milk currently in my fridge. Silk pure almond unsweetened vanilla is only 30 calories a cup. Tastes great on cereal and I never drink plain milk anyway so it works for me.

I did the first two challenges and I know where the tab was but now it is not showing

I just went there and the challenges do not show on my spreadsheet. Can't tell you why...I just know they're not there...not on the bottom and there is no tab on my spreadsheet, sorry...wish I could show you

There is no tab for the imput of challenges on my spreadsheet, just the part for adding weights.

That's great but I can't find the challenge sheet to post what I have done? It isn't on the bottom of the spreadsheet to post weight loss? Not to the left or to the right...somebody please tell me where to look.

There is no thread on the spreadsheet or anywhere to log the information for this weeks challenge or even any mention of what the challenge is, was there another separate post that I missed? Even so how would we be accountable?

I use a recumbent bike burning 600 to 700 calories a day for exercise. I have artificial knees so don't do an excess of walking because my orthopedic surgeon told me that the more I use my knees, the sooner they will have to be redone.:sick: I have over all bad joints...shoulders, hips etc so too much weight bearing…
