Have at it - I like it WAY better than "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" 'cos it focuses on keeping your diet clean AND your exercise routines! ^__^ I try to do really awesome with staying in my personal goals 85% of the time, and just be conscious. I have found - like many of us - that when I let myself have stuff…

What has been working for me is, when I began, I'd eat whatever I would normally eat but LOG IT - so I could get a baseline of where I was and how much each thing was gonna "cost" me in calories. Then I started, maybe, choosing to eat half of what the order was (since it's often multiple servings in an order for most…

I reset my macros so my protein is higher - I prefer a higher target because of my diet/ training - and reduced my carb requirements. I'd rather go over on proteins and fats (and remember: dietary cholesterol is NOT linked to cardiovascular cholesterol!)

If you're anything like me, you use the quotes IRL *laugh* I'm particularly fond of: "If you want him, come and CLAIM him!" "Tricksy, sneaky hobbitses!" and "...there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for. "

The scale is stupid! *laugh* I've lost an entire pants size... and "gained" three pounds, because I've increased my lean mass. I kinda LOVE that! "You've lost so much weight!" "Nope!" ^__^

I love that my partner: - has been 100% supportive of my quest to improve my health. - he said "Awesome! Let's do it!" when I decided I wanted to train for a Spartan Race. - understands why, in general, I don't like to work out with him. - loves me when I am 35% body fat. - loves me when I'm at 24% body fat. - eats…

I can eat 1200 calories of delicious garbage... and be hungry later. Or I can eat 1200 calories of actual food with nutrients and be stuffed. I like to think of it in terms of a bank account - what's gonna give me a longer sense of satisfaction: buying one pair of super-expensive Jimmy Choos that I don't have anywhere to…

you've hit the nail on the head here: 'even though I do my long run on a Saturday, I can't possibly make up the calories. " DING DING DING. You can't out-train a bad diet! honestly, that's why I began keeping my spreadsheet - the daily is a mess for me, going back and forth, but if I keep a weekly average, I can get a…

Deffo can relate - and I have concrete proof that *for me* I "gain weight" when I work out on low calories. Truth. In my normal week, I workout anywhere from three to six times a week - dedicated workouts, not cleaning or walking the dog or whatever, but cardio/ weights/ classes/ et cetera. I am always within 30 calories…

Congrats on taking the steps to make yourself healthier and not being afraid to ask - I was terrified to ask for fear of people thinking I was a dummy. You're already ahead of the game :D One thing that really helped me was thinking of my body as a car and food as my fuel - I wouldn't expect my car to get me where I'm…

I do two batches of steel-cut on Sunday - one sweet and and one savory, so I have options *laugh* Sweet I make with milk and a bit of local honey Savory I make with broth - usually chicken - and prepare it kind of like risotto. I portion it out into plastic carry-alongs - I have a bunch of the 1/2 cup types that I put in…

Define "results." I go 3x/ week for 30 minutes of HIIT cardio + weights (hi/low) plus two yoga classes and a Pilates session. I started seeing "results" in the form of increased endurance and higher weight reps within 2 weeks. I started seeing "results" in how my body looked after 6 weeks.

This! sexy is being healthy and confident, not a size. What a bratty girl she must be!

I have a bunch of wackadoo things that I use for motivation: 1) The first rule of Zombieland is cardio. 2) I love chilicheeseburgers. I do NOT love heart attacks. 3) My girlfriends who make me feel like I'm beautiful - I want to live up to their image of me! 4) Bouldering - I LOVE going bouldering. I HATE that I haven't…

I like kids. I think they're fun. I respect parents like nobody's business 'cos it's HARD WORK. I have never wanted kids. Ever. I knew when I was five I didn't want kids. I didn't babysit much, I never found babies adorable, and the idea of pushing a pot roast through my nostril holds about as much appeal as incubating a…

I end up eating out or on the fly a lot, for various reasons, so I log after I order, or as I'm cooking (I don't use recipes very often, and neither do the people I cook with most often). When I get towards the evening, if my calories are high and my macros wacky, I'll do the Watching My Points trick and heat up a bag of…

I try to at least eat some of them - but I work on a weekly average guide for myself. Basically, I calculated my BMR and TDEE using a few different calculations, and took an average of them both. I shoot to have my daily average over the course of a week about halfway between the two - so I feel comfortable that I'm not…

my current plan is (a): Use MFP still to maintain your weight The accountability of tracking my intake is a Really Big Deal for me.

I always "gain weight" when I add new exercise into my routines - muscle is more dense, and also take more energy to repair itself. I've not lost nearly as much weight as I'd "like" to have after five months (13 pounds? REALLY, SELF?), but on the other hand... I've dropped two pants sizes and am on the last hole in my belt…

I make a giant batch on Sunday night, with protein powder, nuts, honey, steel cut oats, and fruit. SO good!

Short version: nothing processed or that would require farming/ harvesting it - it's sometimes called the caveman diet, based on the idea that it follows the hunter/ gatherer food models. Wild game, very little dairy, locally sourced vegetables, in season fruits, and so on.

It's pretty common for guys to lose faster/ more easily, with more calories, 'cos they have higher muscle mass than we do, and hormonal differences aren't kind to us, either. My bf complains about how many calories he has to eat - it's all I can do not to beat him up! *laugh* I go harder, faster, longer in the gym... he…

I feel you! In the last five months, I've lost less than 15 pounds (sssLLLLoooOoooooooOOOOoowwww LOL). but I'm making small changes to my habits and diet, and in the end... I think it's better fro me 'cos I'm making them NEW habits instead of a knee-jerk reaction. I also had to make sure I was getting enough sleep - that…

Hi Hi - I log in multiple times a day - feel free to add me!

ha ha! NICE! :D I'm grateful for warm, sunny days, vacation (one week!), progress on my kitchen update, and puppy ears :)

For those of you having a tough time keeping a hoop up: go big! It helps! My first hoop as an adult was a 42" monster - when I started working with off-body stuff, I sized down (gradually) to a 36" - but the best, most important tip for a beginner is to go big :) Put on some good music and just let it flow :) (I don't like…

Ugh! yes! *laugh* My husband is at a bit of a loss - I've never been the kind to cry, and now I'm super-moody. YUCK

I have a lower back piece that I designed as a custom piece for my 30th birthday. It's an expression of my faith, and the pieces that needed to be incorporated and its size meant there was no other location it would fit/ make sense. If that makes me trashy, I'm ok with my faith being trash to you.

I have five tattoos - and one of them is a piece that spans both of my wrists. I've never had a problem with them, and I have worked in the financial world for the better part of my adult life (read: banks and brokerage - back office and client-facing). Tattoos are much less taboo than they once were. I think more people…
