I stay away from dieting and advice on what foods not to eat. The only way I've been able to lose as much as I have is by eating whatever the hell I wanted and just exercising more. Not eating the things you love is a great way to burn yourself out on dieting and fall off the wagon.

I live in the middle of nowhere, and there are no schools around that teach the styles I'm interested in learning (Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu)... which will not help you in any way to figure out how to bring in new students.

I used to use it but for the last 1.5 years or so I've been drinking Costco's Kirkland brand of meal replacement shakes, and I definitely consider it the best tasting one I've tried (out of Slim Fast, and 4-5 different store brands). Correct answer, right here. The 295 is simply comparing what you've eaten to what you've burned. The "Calories Remaining" field is what takes into account your BMR.

Were you able to find a study less than 60 years old which found similar results? I'm not trying to criticize, I really want to believe this is true, but we've learned a lot about the body in the last half century, and I'd feel more comfortable seeing more contemporary research supporting this idea

Stomach is definitely more flat. Looks like not only did you lose a significant amount of weight, you managed to do it in the area that everyone wants to lose it. Well done!
