My cellulite has decreased in appearance, but it isn't gone (I've been lifting for 2+years and in my 30s). What I've gathered from online articles (most bb.com) is that it would take extreme dieting to completely get rid of all of the butt/thigh fat (especially if that is where you tend to have fat).

No; there is a McDs outside of my gym, and there is nothing more repulsive than the stench of a fish filet and fast food dumpster after a workout.

About $150/week for a family of 4. I buy most of my groceries from BJs (wholesale club); it's cheaper for staples (milk, bread, eggs). I cook/make almost ALL of our meals (pack lunches for kids/husband). We usually only go out to eat once/twice a week.

I'll be 36 in less than 2 weeks, so 36. I'm a "late bloomer," and there's no shame in that.

I take 5g/day. When I first started taking it, I gained 2-3lbs. I cycled-off of it for a couple of weeks to see if it was water weight; it was water weight. My friend takes it for Chronic Fatigue and swears it improves her life. I feel like it helps my recovery from lifting. One thing I found is that it does make me feel…

I eat avocado on toast for breakfast; it's especially good on marble bread.

I tend to think it terms of relative strength (% of BW lifted) vs. absolute strength (probably b/c I'm small). I've been using this as a guideline: https://www.t-nation.com/training/are-you-strong

I would ask where this is happening in the gym and why the staff is oblivious, BUT we had a guy living in the men's locker room at my gym. True story.

I was an overweight kid, and I can tell you that my mother TELLING me to use the treadmill would have backfired. I would have viewed that as a punishment and resented both my mother and exercise. Honestly, your daughter KNOWS she is overweight. Having your mother reinforce that by telling you to exercise isn't going to…

Basically, this guy beat me to it. I was going to say, "don't get her pregnant," b/c she'll get fatter, and I'm sure she doesn't want an a-hole for a "baby daddy."

I'm a SAHM with 2 kids (1 in school full day and 1 in pre-k). I'm on a powerlifting program (5/3/1 for PL). I'm not sure there are any real "special" insights I can give you. I didn't start off with The Big 3 (squat, bench, deadlift). I started with SL 5x5. I had to build up the strength to lift the bar (which usual weigh…

Try starting with dumbbells.

I cut out artificial sweeteners several years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. I agree with another poster that I seem to now have a much easier time managing my "sweet tooth." Yes, that is anecdotal; but I believe that for me, artificial sweetners negatively effected me. Plus...after zero consumption of…

My nutritionist friend has been putting butter in coffee for YEARS! She also can't figure out why she has gained weight...

105; I kinda hate bench.

My husband prefers "larger" ladies. I was probably a full size 10 when we met, which was in the smaller size for his personal preference. I'm a size 2/4 now. Luckily, he has discovered he also like small women with visible muscles. Do what you want, and he'll likely get on board.

I just hit 500 lbs (at 127lbs BW)! 105 bench 160 squat 235 deadlift I want to add: 155lb row and 5x3@17.5lbs weighted chin-ups...'cause I'm pretty happy with those.

It's only cute until she breaks something. Then, she's going to be very mad...with you.

Does your insurance cover the orthotics? Mine are from a company called STJ. I haven't had to deal with them directly, b/c my RX was submitted through my dr. My orthotics work well though.
-
It's expensive if you buy it from the store; you can make it. I haven't done this, but I'm sure you can google it, and I'm sure it isn't super hard to do.

My husband called the company and asked which belt they would recommend for me. They said XS (I was going to order a S before he called); I actually have it set on the 7th hole. The S should definitely fit, and you might have to set it pretty far back (if that makes sense). I bet there isn't a huge difference between the…

My youngest stopped napping completely at 18 months old. I joined a gym with daycare, b/c I needed a 1-2 hour break from my child (who was wide awake for 14 hours a day). 14 hours with a toddler is more than any sane person can handle. Another choice is a jogging stroller. I used to take her out in that for "nature time."

Most of these threads are about how to make people's butts bigger. This is new for me. I have always had a "big butt." Weight loss will help; although with losing weight, you will most likely be the same shape. This happened to me when I lost weight through cardio. If you want to help change the shape of your butt, you…

I have an Inzer XS and am the same waist measurement; it fits well. I wear mine tight.

We have friends who ALWAYS split meals at restaurants. I don't know how they do it, b/c I usually eat more food than my husband. Also, find activities that don't revolve around food...going to the gym together would be an excellent test of the strength of the relationship.

My mom died in November after 19 months of living with cancer. It was awful to watch someone get progressively more sick and then ultimately die. I spent a lot of time in the gym, b/c it was the only time I was able to "shut off" my mind. My coping strategy in the past has been more alcohol-based...and that wasn't an…

Protein.

Losing fat on your butt is a good thing. You need to do WEIGHTED squats to help develop the "butt muscle."

Leave your work shoes at work if possible, put those on when you get to work, leave there in the evening. I usually take 4 pairs of shoes to the gym with me. Weird, I know...but I need them all.

The only regret I have is not starting lifting earlier.
