  • I LOVE better than butter. I get it at Trader Joe's. It's absolutely delicious and such a win. I wish I could afford to eat the real deal but I can't.
  • I use the Jennie-O turkey products in place of red meat. I use them for tacos, spaghetti, even meatloaf. I love seafood. I eat it a lot. If you're not sure about fish try starting out with tilapia. It's mild and easy to prepare. You can do it in the oven or the grill. Salmon is delicious but not everyone can handle it's…
  • I have a good friend who battles bulimia so I can sympathize to your situation. It is hard not to relapse so kudos to you for your honesty and efforts. Just like they all said, your legs look amazing!! Keep up the fight against that demon, you are winning the battle. Don't forget it!
  • I'm going to try to regurgitate what someone just explained to me. We all need "cheats" otherwise we set ourselves up for failure at one point or another. Life is to be lived, food is to be eaten and enjoyed ( in moderation). So if you can limit your cheats to a 10% ratio you should be okay. So for example, if you eat 3 x…
  • You look fabulous! Thanks for sharing and keep up the enthusiasm for those next 18!!
  • I started on MFP January 2010. I cheated on MFP from March 2011-August and I finally came back to MFP. The new WW plan did not work well for me. I lost about 8 pounds, gained 2 back. And I tracked all my points and ate in my points range. If you do not know how to eat for your body the points won't matter. I can stay in my…
  • I started the couch to 5k plan when I was about 195. It's a nice way to start out and had no problems with it. Get good shoes, work your way up gradually, and believe in yourself!
  • OH MY GOSH YUM! This is right up my alley. Thanks for sharing!
  • I just looked at your profile to get a feel of where you are with things and I can't help but admit that I'm concerned...:frown: Maybe I am reading things wrong but between your goals and your photos it seems as though you are underweight. So if that is the case, yes 8 miles is too much for your body. You would need to eat…
  • I dream about this.... not there yet BUT I do like that I can: Fit into normal sizes I can work out at the gym without feeling embarrassed Having the stamina to get through a day without a nap Enjoy eating healthy foods (don't feel deprived 24/7)
  • That's awesome!!! Well done.
  • I love this site. Yes, definitely addicted :ohwell:
  • CONGRATS!!! Oh that felt so good when I went into the 180's.... but then...:embarassed: :frown: I went back to the 190's:frown: You don't have to though. I got complacent. I'm so happy for you!!! Come on 170's!!! I'm cheering you on!!!
  • Bummer! I just decided to order it but won't have it till sometime next week. Can I join in late?
  • Good job. I love that you ran 6 miles to celebrate!
  • That is SO SO SO true. As long as you are doing everything you can, by the time Christmas rolls around you will have a whole new attitude no matter what that scale says. One day at a time do your best to eat healthy and exercise. By Christmas you will definitely look different. And I believe when we FEEL different we LOOK…
  •      GREAT JOB! You look fabulous!
  • Wow. People are ruthless. I find this thread incredibly disappointing. This is not the place for harsh criticism. MFP is designed to be all inclusive and supportive. I'm sorry Shellie. Don't let it get to you girl.

  • I am no expert but weight loss is as simple as calories in versus calories out. You have to have a deficit to lose weight. People will explain the importance of eating back your calories but it hasn't worked for me. I hit a plateau and the only way I have broke out of it is by upping my exercise and cutting more calories…
  • huh?? I'm even more confused now...
  • I'm 5'4, been losing and maintaining since January 2010. I've lost 41, have 40 more to go. Good luck. Feel free to add me:smile:
  • UGH college sucks. I had so many issues in college and binge eating was one of them. I feel for you. I love what people have suggested and would say give them all a try. It's my experience that I had to change the behavior pattern, it wasn't going to change on its own. And that's hard because it becomes addictive. Maybe…
  • Yes, I love the mobile "summary" however I'm still trying to figure out how to stay within all of the goals. How do you do it? Maybe I need to be patient.
  • I love what everyone has said already. It's super important to forgive yourself and know that you can do this. Different things work for different people but there are a couple of things that work for everyone. And those things are exercise and diet. Just like someone else said there is no such thing as a quick fix. What I…
  • I get numb toes every time I do the elliptical and the stationary bikes. I'm going to try loosening my laces to see if it helps.
  • LMAO!!!!! Love the REAL girl talk  There is a term some (not so nice) men use to describe it. It's called FUP. It stands for Fat Upper P***y.:grumble: Ever since I heard that term used I have anxiously examined myself wondering if the term applied.:blushing: I have to say that yes, weight does come off in some…
  • I'm on day 2 of WW. I decided to give it a try after a failed attempt at low carb. Low carb was working but then it just stopped. I was bummed because I felt better than ever on low carb. I was full of energy, didn't have any cravings, didn't have to eat as much and I was even sleeping better! I've got a goal to lose 20…
  • " Skip the heartache and do it "the hard way". It's much more fulfilling, and you'll be the better for it." Doing low carb is HARD. There is nothing easy about eating on a low carb or keto diet. I just recently switched from the low carb to a more balanced eating plan but only because the low carb stopped working for me.…
  • I watch my carbs, calories, and sugar. I try to eat only healthy fats (olive oil, nuts, fish, etc). I eat veggies with lunch and dinner, eat fruit in moderation (mostly low carb fruits) and I mostly eat whole grains that are low glycemic index. This is a food plan that I have found my body needs for a variety of reasons.…
