Irreversible damage
Anyone here ever get depressed when they look at their body and see "irreversible damage"? I do. I've got stretch marks (I've never had kids), I've got flabby fat on my stomach, under my arms and arm pits. I am sure with plastic surgery I'd be able to get it reversed but that's just not an option. I worry that with the…

Paleo/Keto/Primal way of eating, looking for buddies
I've been seeing a personal trainer, doing my own research and seeing a nutritionist. After lengthy health questionnaires with my nutritionist it has been suggested that I eliminate gluten, eat low carb, and eat whole fat. This is a way of eating I have tried before, had tons of energy, felt great, but then fell off the…

Wore my HRM for a day, is that an accurate number for TDEE?
I wore my heart rate monitor yesterday from about 9:30 am- 8:30 pm. I was up at 7 am and didn't go to bed until 11 but I wanted to get an idea of how many calories I burn in a day. I don't see why this would be inaccurate since I use it to measure my calories burned during exercise and it lines up with the calculations MFP…

anaerobic/aerobic thoughts and input please
I was just told to cut back on my exercise, that I shouldn't do any aerobic exercise for more than an hour but try to keep it at 30-45 min tops so that I don't cause my body to switch from aerobic to anaerobic because then my body is burning muscle instead of fat. Is this accurate? So are marathon runners burning muscle…

I need friends
I have been an MFP user for years, I have gone through many "friends". I live in CA and would like people who are in the same time zone so that we can check in with each other BUT I won't turn down friends from other time zones. That being said... I am working toward goals, I eat really well 90% of the time, my diary is…

protein shakes pre or post workout
Sorry in advance. I'm sure this topic is a re-tread. I am still confused about when to drink my protein drinks. I know the guy at the store told me I can use it as a meal replacement which I like to do in the mornings from time to time. I sometimes cut down on the scoops to use it as a post work out drink. I've heard and…

What nutrients do you track?
I'm just curious. I track calories, fat, fiber, carbs, and sugar. I'm almost always over on fiber and sugar. I just don't know if there's a method to choosing what to track or if it's just preference?

Carb cycling
Anyone out there know anything about this or have experience?

Zumba- how do you track it?
Hi. I just tried Zumba today for the first time. It's not an exercise listed on the tracker, so for anyone who does Zumba could you tell me how to track it please? I was thinking aerobics/dancing? Thanks so much!

Nutrisystem (I hope I'm not breaking the rules here...)
I'm about to start an intensive 10 week medical training that will be full time M-F 10-12 hrs a day. I'm trying to prepare myself the best I can for this and realize some things will be compromised as a result of such long hours. I have currently been following Atkins but it requires a lot of grocery shopping, planning and…

Plantar Fasciitis
I'm 28 and have this in both feet. Today I'm particularly struggling with it because my yoga class is starting tonight and it's not looking like I will be able to go. My reason for writing this is to see how others who have this problem cope. I certainly don't want to stop exercising but it's been suggested that I keep off…

Atkins - any low carbers out there & want to be friends?
I have lost some weight counting calories and exercising but have gone up and down the scale so many times that it became clear to me that I needed to switch things up. I have read so much on nutrition and have discussed various options with people in related professions and came to the decision to do the Atkins diet. I…
