  • :flowerforyou: Kris & Des, Please, please, please check out stopthethyroidmadness.com You are both voicing the exact same problems with synthetic thyroid meds. * The synthetic did that to me too, made me start sweating at night :grumble: * It's not true about the meds helping you lose wt. ~ I'm surprised that you don't…
  • Welcome Amy, :flowerforyou: That's wonderful that you're getting your thyroid regulated now. Its not an easy feat, these days. I hope that you can find the help you need here. There are so many things that help, gluten free, low carb, coconut oil, the right vitamins, staying steady & moderate exercise. Since it is so hard…
  • That's so great! Take your temperature in the morning & that will help you in regulating... a bit anyway. You should be feeling better soon! :drinker:
  • Hi, Welcome to the group :flowerforyou: Sorry the information scared you. :ohwell: So many people go for years & years without proper treatment & stuck gaining weight. That's where it really helps to learn all you can to get help. But it sounds like you're doing really well! And you're on Armour that's another plus! Baby…
  • Welcome :flowerforyou: AuntCharlie & Itstime, I have posted help links at the top of the group, and there are several threads where people share what works for them. Please look around & ask questions. There is help for us... one thing I've had to realize though, we can't afford to take breaks from our diets... a lb. lost…

  • Hi & welcome! :flowerforyou: Glad you checked out the stopthethyroidmadness.com site. I'm sorry that you've had the run-around from your Dr's. Seems to be more typical than not these days. I go to a naturopath. I guess the only way to find an endo in Canada is to get a referral. But that site also has reference pages to…

  • That's great! So, hope your tests come back good. :drinker:
  • :flowerforyou: Welcome Juliste, Your experience sounds much like mine. I'm happy for you that you're feeling better. How long did it take for your adrenals to heal? Are you still supplementing them? I'm just wondering about that because I'm thinking mine may be healed up now & not needing the isocort that I take. May be…
  • Welcome! :flowerforyou: That's so sad, that your meds aren't working for you. Kind of typical of today's medicine though. Have you checked into natural thyroid? It has t3 in it as well as t4, and has helped many of us. I also had adrenal issues, so was exhausted too. When I went to the Naturopath I found out that my…

  • So Rose, you mean that if you get your TSH checked hours after taking your meds your TSH number comes back more hyper? I'm still getting my meds regulated. Starting to get hypo again, as Dr dropped my dose last month. Its still coming in hyper, but not as much, which explains why I feel as I do. I take my meds at midnight…
  • Hi, You sound like you're talking about injury pain. That probably needs to be wrapped & babied.... But I get "migrating joint pain" when I'm hypo. Its very strange. Feels like carpal tunnel, then moves from one wrist to an ankle, or knee, sometimes shoulder & then back to the other wrist... usually a day or so in each…
  • Hi, :flowerforyou: Have you read through the links? I am pretty sure the info is there. But I will share with you what I've found. Yeah, Soy is a no-no... I can't eat any of those goitergens raw. I've just recently learned that Chia seeds are EXCELLENT for Thyroid & so I'm eating the 2 TBS @ day. Coconut oil is also great.…
  • Welcome Primrose :flowerforyou: Sorry you're having thyroid issues. Hopefully it will not need surgery. Sounds like goiter, but I don't have any experience in that. I do know that soy is a thyroid inhibitor. Avoid it & all goitergens while concerned. (find them in the links). Chia seeds & coconut oil are good for thyroid;…

  • Hey Patty, Those numbers look pretty good to me. Can you explain the optimal number beside? I'm kind of surprised she upped your Armour with your TSH so low. Interesting that you got the testosterone & progesterone tested. Good for you on the fit bit. Hope it works better for you. I started moving with a MyTrak. It worked…

  • Ah, sorry you've had all that stress. I got that way from stress too, it turned into adrenal fatigue & I tested low in cortisol. I got to a naturapath, who put me on Isocort, and I now feel fantastic. Apparently if your adrenals tank, your thyroid meds stop working also. stopthethyroidmadness has a lot about adrenal…

  • I set mine out at night before I go to bed. At the bathroom run closest to midnight (doesn't matter if its a few hrs. late), I take my naturathyroid sublingually (under the tongue) (supposed to work better). Then in the morning, I take the isocort, which is also taken that way. I'm up a couple times a night, so it works…
  • Wow, lots of tests! bioidentical hormones is what I was trying to remember... it seems a lot of women get help with places that do that. I'm not familiar with most of those things you named, but did they test your cortisol? That's what was causing my problem. I'm also a little low in testosterone, but she left it up to me…
  • Welcome Patty, :flowerforyou: Wow, it sounds like you have adrenal fatigue - big time! I did too, and going to a naturopath (as well as a Dr), I was able to get help for the adrenal fatigue. She did a saliva test on me, to see which hormone was off, and discovered the cortisol to be low. I'm now on Isocort, and its amazing…
