  • Don't eat meat with bones in it. I can't exactly see the logic behind this. I mean, you'll eat a boneless chicken breast, but it definitely had bones in it before someone pulled them out. The same person who told me the above also talks at me about how I should be eating organic, only shops at the most expensive Whole…
  • Chili cheese fritos
  • Tried both, hated both. Love Noosa, though. All the other greek yogurt I've tried tastes like sour cream but has a gritty texture. Noosa is amazing.
  • I'm training for my first marathon in September! I was definitely not a runner to start, but quickly figured out that treadmills are the reason I hated running. I love running outside. I've never run more than a 5K before, so I'm doing a 30 week training program (week 6 right now) to get me to the mileage. My first 10k is…
  • I'm 5'10" and all legs and buying pants is the absolute worst. I'm also the shortest person on my dad's side of the family. My dad is 6'7", grandpa is 6'5", uncle is 6'4", brother is 6'3". Even my girl cousin is 6'2" and my aunt is 6'3". It's unfair! Stupid 5'6" mom and her shorty short short genes.
  • Me too! It's the only way I have found that I can just zone out and run. It also worked better for me once I started running outside, as well.
  • http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51130/Half-Marathon-Training-Guide Great training programs. I'm currently doing the 30 week Novice Supreme marathon training, and it starts you out really easy. If you're not much of a runner, I definitely would start with a shorter goal, like a 5k, and then work your way up to a half…
  • I third going to a running store to get fitted. I have high arches, pronate, and am primarily a heel striker, and I wear Brooks Trance 12. I love them! Turns out I've been buying the wrongs shoes for forever, and there is a difference between arch support and ARCH support.
  • I'm training to do a 10k on May, but I also live in the frigid north and running outside is difficult (people need to shovel their freaking sidewalks!). You should have plenty of time to transition once it starts getting nice out, so I would just keep on with the treadmill, maybe upping the incline a bit to challenge…
  • I have had one since November and I love it. It's helped me see the patterns in how often I'm active, so I know if I sat at my desk all day that I will need to do about 5000 more steps (I usually walk about 2.5 miles a day when I sit at my desk for the majority of the day). The numbers it puts out are fairly accurate for…
  • I'm pretty sure there is nothing better than Lumpy Space Princess. Except, of course, Lumpy Space Prince.
  • Oh my god yes! It's awful. Yeah, you could eat eat a whole pint for only a few calories, but who could choke it down?
  • I have really long thick hair too, but I'm lucky enough that it doesn't get greasy easily. I sweat like crazy when I work out, but I usually don't need to wash it more than every other day. Actually, not washing it after a workout makes it easier to manage, believe it or not. I agree that you should try out a dry shampoo.…
  • I'm 5'10", was about 190 and am down to about 160. Still looking to lose 10-15 pounds! Let's be friends, I'm on every day!
  • I usually spend around $100-$150/month on groceries. I try to stock up on things I like when they're on sale and freeze them until needed. And I make a meal big enough for 4-6 people and freeze portions or eat leftovers for like, 6 days.
  • I LOVE this! And this is exactly what your trainer's attitude should be. If you could do it on your own, you wouldn't need him to make you work so hard.
  • 5'10" I was somewhere around 190 when I started, and I was in a size 12. I've lost around 35 lbs and am now comfortable in a size 8. I'm surprised that I only went up 2 sizes when I gained 40 pounds.
  • It's so worth it to get fitted for proper shoes-- who knew I was buying the wrong kind of shoes for 6 years, and that's why running was so painful? Resist the urge to buy all the cute-but-overpriced athletic gear.

  • Hey, the first step is admitting you have a problem, right? I'm totally in the same boat. Except most of the time when I decide to bake cookies, it's just because I want to eat cookie dough. I lose interest while it chills (and after I have a few huge spoons of it) and then end up taking all the cookies to work. I must say…
  • I'm 22 and just graduated in May, also a former athlete. It's amazing how much you gain once you stop playing sports! I swear I lost weight my Freshman/Sophomore year when I was playing lacrosse every day, and gained more than my fair share of the freshman 15 my junior/senior years. Definitely feel free to add me. I need…
  • If you're worried about anything that they might add to it, make your own!! It's super easy, and then you can add whatever you want. My personal favorite is cinnamon and vanilla, but the possibilities are endless!
  • I used to work at Old Navy, and it was awful. You'd think after a year and a half that I could find something I like and buy it without trying it on... not the case at all. In order to actually fit into their skinnies, I had to go two sizes up! And don't even get me started about the length. I would go into the fitting…
  • I usually just cut them up into small-ish pieces when i cook and swallow them whole. I also do this FIRST before I eat anything else on in the dish, that way I can enjoy the rest of my meal normally. I don't like the taste or the texture (or both) of most vegetables, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
  • Turkey rollatini with spinach and ricotta and lots of cheesy goodness (adapted from http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/04/chicken-rollatini-with-spinach-alla.html). In the oven right now, I can't wait!
  • Yessssssss. There aren't even words to describe how much I love cheese.
  • You're confusing correlation with causation.
  • Pretty much everything is one molecule away from being anything else.
