I'm type 2 diabetic and I've been doing the DASH Diet Weight Loss Solution by Marla Keller and my A1c has dropped from 6.1 to 5.5 since January. It's been rated as the best diet for diabetics. The first 2 weeks are low carb, lots of veggies, lean protein, and then you gradually add in fruit, grains and dairy. I've never…

Hot, hot shower.

Marie's also makes yogurt dressings that are 40-70 cals/2 Tablespoons. I love the blue cheese! So rich, and you would never know it's not full fat!

Wow! Did your fiancé know he was marrying a hottie?

I take aqua fit classes every Saturday morning and we do things like running in the water (tougher than it sounds!), jumping jacks, treading water, etc. Youtube water aerobics for other ideas.

Congratulations!

I love Zumba! I do it twice a week at my gym. You don't need anything special to wear. Regular gym attire is fine. Don't get discouraged if you can't follow the moves -- it takes at least a month to catch on! Just have fun and you'll get a good workout. Bring a bottle of water - you'll need it! And a towel if you're a…

Oops! Sorry - I didn't realize there was a difference! But, if you're not hungry, don't eat.
-
I don't think that's right. I looked it up in Livestrong and it was over 1,000 calories for one flatbread pizza. Sorry..... . :grumble: http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/nutrition-calories/food/bar-louie/

It's not on cable - it's on NBC. Yes, I'm watching it. :) I'm probably a little sadistic. lol!

Haha! I thought this was going to be a post saying "adios" to diet pills! Seriously, I wouldn't bother with them. You need to learn how to eat to sustain weight loss, and you won't learn anything with diet pills. So say adios!

I LOVE bulgogi! Thanks for posting! I think I have everything except the meat!
-
Nice guns.
-
Yep - I rinse it in hot water and put it back in a hot pan to dry out. For measuring the fat/water, weigh the meat before and after pressing or rinsing/draining. I don't know how you'd differentiate between water and fat, however. :ohwell:

LOL! I'll be eating a few extra treats and will count them. But I'm diabetic, so I can't go hogwild!
-
I go to the gym after work, so I eat later dinners (usually 7-7:30), and I think that keeps me from endless snacking at night. It can become a bad habit!
-
Not mine! She encourages me to keep lifting, but to make adjustments if I need to avoid pain. Yeah, you might want to see someone who's more up to speed on the benefits of lifting heavy.

There are a few different versions already in MFP. I used the first one that came up.

I've got a pan baking right now. I can't wait for it to be done! :drinker:

Sounds very good! I'm always looking for new chicken recipes. I'll probably pound out the chicken so it's thinner and cooks faster. The only ingredient I'm missing is corn - otherwise I'd make it for dinner and lunches this week. Thanks for sharing!

I think you look great! Congrats!!!! 15 lbs is a lot of weight and if it came mostly from your tummy, it's totally believable! Don't listen to the naysayers. You've got more believers on your side! :flowerforyou:

Welcome, Sue! :flowerforyou: MFP is a great tool to keep track of food/calories and exercise, and the people can be great motivators! Add some friends for daily motivation and accountability. It helps a lot! Add me!

My diabetes educator told me to drink Power Zero (Powerade without sugar, no calories) if I do a workout where I sweat a LOT! It helps to replenish electrolytes I lose when I sweat.
-
Count me in! I lose my appetite when I'm stressed out. It doesn't take long for me to get back to normal so I don't worry about it.
-
Who said it's easy? I have the most trouble at night if I don't keep myself busy. That's one of the reasons I'm at the gym at night. It keeps me out of the kitchen! If I know I'm satisfied food-wise for the day but still feel like grazing after dinner, I'll have a couple Altoid mints and a glass of water (or cup of…

I totally agree with this right here. I hate tight clothes.

Before.

How many does it make? I know you gave the macros for 2, but the amount of ingredients looks like it would make more than 2.

MN here! I have about 16 lbs to go. :) Add me! :flowerforyou:
