Yes! The longer you go, the worse you feel. I, sadly, got fast food this weekend and it made me a bit sick but what really struck me was how gross my Pepsi tasted! I don't normally drink a lot of soda anyway, ususally only when I go out to eat, but now I've been drinking water, coffee and green tea almost exclusively and…

When you wake up tomorrow morning, start at step one. It's not all lost - not by a long shot! They say it takes 2 weeks to form a habit, well you've been at this 6 weeks and only slipped a couple days! Those good habits are still there :-) What happened is in the past and it's done. Even if you have to start by adopting…

Oh thanks for the info! For some reason I had no idea they had workout videos on Netflix. Duh! lol

This is becoming a more and more popular rule at races because it's a safety issue. Three miles without it won't be bad at all :-) If this is your first race I can guarantee you won't miss it. The atmoshpere is enough to keep you going! Good luck!

Everyone is too concerned about a specific number on the scale! Don't let that rule your mood. If you're clothes are fitting better than THAT is all that matters  That is what people can see - remember that number on the scale isn't tattooed on your forehead, but everyone can see you in those brand new, size smaller…

I wish I could say I plan ahead, but I am soooooo not a planner, especially when it comes to my meals! lol So I usually just add as I eat, but I can help with snacks! :-D 1 full cracker of low-fat honey maid grahams with 1 TBLS peanut butter 1/4 C of part skim ricotta cheese, cocoa powder to taste, sweetener (this one is…

I'm a dork, so there are 2 equally close....lol "'I can joke about the legend, which has been monstrously commercialized, but not about what my research turned up....'" "The Historian", Elizabeth Kostova "Why?" "Food Rules", Michael Pollan ;-P

Honestly I had heard that a million times myself. It just didn't make sense to me that 1 mile of walking was burning the same as one mile running since I worked so much harder to run. They explained it as you're walking for a longer time so you'll burn about the same. See I was right (for once!) lol Thanks for posting!

I had lost a significant amount of weight about 8 years ago and initially to me, I could barely tell I lost anything (I went from an 170+ to 120lbs). Sometimes our brains just don't catch up with our bodies! I was going out shopping still looking at 18/20 shirts instead of the size 4 I was actually wearing.

Depends how tiny! lol I have about 5'x5' to move in but for some things I just don't move as much (like if a step requires me to walk forward or back, I may go 1 or 2 steps but then walk in place the rest of the time). The biggest obstacle is how far from the tv you need to be. I think you are supposed to ideally be 8-10'…

I switched from diet soda to water years ago without problem but then I moved and I find the tap water here to taste absolutely horrible. So, I just invested in a Brita pitcher - it filters out any extra taste from minerals and chlorine. It might help you like your water better :-) I pretty much only drink that and green…

bump! sounds delicious :-)

looks delicious! I will definitely try :-)

If you're having trouble adding calories because you're full how about adding some small items that are full of good fats/calories - like nuts, seeds, avacado. You don't need to add a lot to up your calories :-) Good luck!
-
Well 9.6lbs down total. I had a bit of a set back that was only a week but wow, the damage you can do in a week! Good luck everyone :-)
-
Good for you! Woohoo!! I can't wait to see that 199.x! I have 2.5 pounds to go to see Onederland. Yippee :-)

It's processed but if it keeps you on track, I say eat it. I try to eat mostly whole foods, but there are a few convenience foods and condiments that I'm not eliminating. You have to do what works for you! Make sure you're drinking lots of water for that sodium :-)

^^THIS. I used to run (I can't now because of a severe illness) and I always felt better while I was running and after - runner's high it's a real thing! Somedays I would struggle and not want to go, but my deal with myself was to go 1 mile and if I still wanted to give up I could. 95% of the time I would finish my run.…

Congrats! Looking great :-)

It certainly sounds like you have a lot going on in your life right now and you are trying to be perfect and please everyone. You aren't going to be perfect. You will never please everyone. Your obligation right now is to take care of you and your child - nothing else matters. It sounds like you are an emotional eater…

bump....I'm always eating tortillas! I need to branch out lol

acorn squash baked with apples :-) It was quite delicious! I will do it again.

8 lbs in a month is a wonderful weight loss!! Don't let shows like the Biggest Loser (which I do love) give you unreasonable expectations about how much you should lose and how fast. 2 lbs/week is pretty much the max you should lose in a healthy way and not end up with flabby skin or too much shock to your system.

I'm not knocking the diet because I haven't looked into it, but I have to say that I've done a restrictive diet in the past (Atkins) and although I stuck to it for a year and a half and lost 65lbs I was completely unable to stick to it in the long term. I immediately gained 30lbs in the year following ending the diet.…

I don't do P90x, so I can't give you much advice, but if you watch the intro DVD, it shows you can use a resistance band and hook it to something tall and pull down instead of up :-) Good luck!!

It's not SUPER healthy, but I only eat it sparingly but 1/4-1/2 cup of part skim ricotta with some unsweetened cocoa powder and a little splenda. Yum! I know it can sound a little weird but it's a chocolate cheesecake replacement ;-) sometimes I add fruit or eliminate the cocoa powder and splenda and do just berries with a…

It's a challenge. I don't eat yogurt super regularly so I don't mind the extra sugar. I say as long as it's plain and you're using natural sugar (like sweetening with a little honey or fruit) it's not the end of the world. Of course if you're diabetic it might be a different story :-)

Good luck here on MFP!! I too, like everyone else has tried weight watchers in the past. I failed miserably the 3 times I tried to do it - I was STARVING all the time! I know WW worked for my sister and she managed to lose a lot of weight doing it (well until she got preggers lol). WW is too much of a "diet" even though…

If you can honestly say to yourself that you have eaten the best you possibly can....no processed foods and only whole foods or very minimally processed food and the scale isn't budging, then it's time to see the doctor! You may have a medical issue. Now if you have stayed at your calorie budget and did it by eating 3…
