1) Squat 1.5x bodyweight. 2) Deadlift 300+ lbs. 3) Bench Press 150 lbs. 4a) Get body fat low enough to see abs! 4b) If not enough muscle to have abs, get body fat low and then start a bulk!

I do boxing class 3 days a week for an hour each class, plus 2 days of hitting the bag on my own or cycling intervals for about 30-45 minutes. I also do 1-2 cardio lifting class a week, 30-60 minutes each.

I asked my instructor and purchased a pair of 12 oz. gloves. They said 10 oz at least, and didn't recommend going above 12 for me (being female and a relative beginner). I find that they're good for heavy bag work and also striking pads. Also, you should get some wraps too if you don't have any. I know some people who…

Probably Bama. But I can't really care because I'm going to hate seeing either of them win. (Okay, seeing Notre Dame win might chafe me a little more).

Sweets aren't the end of the world if you're doing everything else right. You may just be hungry -- your current breakfast and lunch sounds like it may be a little light on protein. Adding in some eggs or chicken (or, if you're vegetarian, some protein powder and/or quinoa [done up oatmeal style]) could help. But I will…

Ask if she wants you to help and/or how you can help her. She is your kid, but she's also 14 -- she's becoming more and more independent and it's going to be important that she's allowed to be in charge of what help she gets. If you see her doing something wrong (eating too little, exercise bulimia, etc) you certainly need…

My 2012 resolution was to read 52 books -- I finished 40 (including my big book for the year-- "House of Leaves") and am in the process of reading 6 more, but won't finish any of those before 2013. However, I'm chalking it up as a win because I beat 2011 by 3. I have a few resolutions for 2013, but primarily -- attempt 52…

That sounds about right -- I looked to be about 20-22% about 8-10 lbs lighter. Thanks to both of you for starting this thread and this group.

I'm going to be brave and post my post-holiday photos to get a better estimate of where I'm at right now. Also -- I would like to say upfront that I'm wearing bikini bottoms -- not underwear -- in these photos -- very skanky-looking bikini bottoms. Glad I got some photos before I ever wore these to the beach. Taken this…

My partner is between ottermode and athletic ... I am a very lucky girl. Basically, that's my preference. But I can't be the only person who digs bearmode, too? (It's cut off on the image). ETA -- Just saw someone else said bearmode, too.

Tanning and oiling are done in order to make the muscle definition appear deeper and stand out more. Pale skin doesn't show definition as well and gets easily washed out under stage lights. The point of it is the same point as any pagaent-type competition ... which I'm not feeling eloquent enough to expand upon.

Maybe I'm turning into a meathead, but I don't think this looks bad at all. ETA -- I'd be pretty tickled if this happened to me simply by bench pressing.

In middle school, I overheard a girl referring to me as a stupid cow to her friends. I knew I wasn't stupid, so that didn't hurt, but it was the first time I'd ever heard anyone say anything about someone's weight. I pretty much never stopped feeling fat after that day.

I don't bench right now because I have a sprained wrist from punching things. However, when I do bench it's on a 3x5 program at 100+ lbs working sets through the full range of motion with constant weight progression. And for the record, my pec muscles look fabulous.

This depends -- when was the date of your last shower? A.

[...] I'm sorry, were they talking? Like saying words? I must have been too busy looking to notice.

In my opinion, it gets over-complicated and too time-consuming. It moves away from some great basic compound moves to do some pretty silly things. I nearly broke my ankle trying to do some of the stuff in stage 2. I've had much better results after putting NROLFW away and stick to 6 basic big moves. I think a beginner…

*jaw -- > floor* Wow ... that is incredible!

Agreed.

You just got me all teary-eyed at work. :brokenheart:

I don't know you, but I'd be tempted to call you Fluttershy and think you were adorable.

I think there's an in-between length that needs to be considered. The short is a little too short for me, but the long is just slightly too long. Shoot for just a few inches above the knee.

Going on the Rae plan. Will report back. :flowerforyou:

Mulan, because I've always loved crossdressing and fighting like a man.

I love my converse for lifting. They're plaid and awesome. I have accidentally worn my running shoes to the gym on a lifting day. It was disastrous. The sponginess and the angle in my heel basically meant I was exerting more wasted effort, and also caused me to pitch forward putting more strain in my lower back.
-
I have so much love for you right now.

These smelled like petroleum and were the tastiest thing about my childhood. :brokenheart:

So true. I was lucky enough to know from the beginning that more than I needed to go to the gym to fix myself of ugliness, I needed to work on stopping the negative self talk. You can't try to fix the inside by changing the outside. You can weigh that perfect *whatever* weight, but if you're still calling yourself fat and…

Hey! That's my man! It's about to get all Maury up in here!

Well, I am just getting ready to switch to Wendler's after soing SL and NROLFW for 14 months total. I was researching it and it seems highly recommended during the cut phase, especially. I can send you the spreadsheet I made for it if you like so that you can take a look at it. I'm doing a version called "Big but Boring"…
