I have been a competitor for a number of years. My first question to you is do you have a trainer? I am a personal trainer, and a very good one at that. However, I find it extremely difficult to train myself for a show. I would suggest getting a trainer if you don't already have one. Diet is key when it somes to competing.…

Hmmmm....I read the book...I agree with strawberry25shortcake about the authors being rude. And I think it is incredibly extreme. Moderation is the key...

Read a newspaper instead of watching TV. Then you can read what you want and disregard the rest! The Times, Wall Street Journal...there are a lot of suitable options.

When my son was about 5 he hugged my mother and said "MawMaw, you're so fluffy!" Lol! You just have to laugh it off and keep moving. You will get a good laugh about it once you are at your goal weight! Stay strong!

Often times you can get all the vitamins and nutrients you need from a proper diet. I haven't taken vitamins in almost 20 years.

You have to do some serious weight training....seriously.

I read the story on your profile and it is very inspiring! Keep up the good work...

If you cut them both in half it would almost be equivalent to cutting one of them out...

Most people are emabarrased because they think they aren't doing it "right." Often times if you hire a personal trainer to show you exactly what to do and how to do it you can move past it. Even if you just work out at home, knowing the right form and technique can help you feel more confident in knowing that what you are…

You DIDN"T gain 5 pounds in 2 days. It takes an extra 3500 calories...that is 3500 calories OVER what your body requires on a daily basis...to gain just ONE pound. To gain 5 pounds in 2 days means you ate over 17,000 EXTRA calories! I don't think you did that. A lack of water can make your body do feel horrible. You not…

a snack might be hard...but boneless, skinless chicken breast is a great option! Popcorn is good too...

I wouldn't stoop to his level. some people are just not worth it. Don't allow him to effect the rest of your day. Ask him to keep his opinions to himself and just keep focused on beng healthy.

It is possible to drink too much water. Too much water dilutes the sodium levels in the blood. But a gallon in not going to do it. I drink close to 3 gallons every day. Keep drinking your water. Your body needs it. When you have had enough, your body will let you know.
-
It's the little victories...and as long as you are drinking plenty of water, the sodium wont bother you. But you have to drink A LOT! Lol!
-
He-hee! Running around in trash bags causes you to lose water that you might be retaining. It is not healthy to do this...it is a temporary water loss that some see as weight loss. It is dangerous.

snf_05 is right. The extra calorie burn from your body attmepting to regulate your temp is minimal. But your body does burn calories in regulating your body temperature...just not as many as we would like to believe.

Hmmm...a bathing suit huh? I would stay away from sodium. Try a salad. Even McDonalds has a walnut salad that is pretty tasty. You could combine that with a piece of grilled chicken.

When my son was 6 and training for his first swim meet he wanted to give up. We were on the track running and I told him that he just had to keep pushing himself not matter how slow he was going. As long as he was moving he was making progress... Then I turned around to see him with his hand on his back. I asked him if his…

OMG! Why would you do that? Let me help....

Because every week varies...especially for women, I set monthly goals. And I measure those goals a week after my cycle. During that time of the month women can retain a significant amount of water and that will throw off our weight. Setting weekley goals is good when those goals are things like : this week I will only eat…
