I love this! I'm down a bag of dog food (40 pounds + 5 more)--and my big boys eat that ever 3 weeks, so I lift a big bag into the shopping cart that often. Great reminder to think of something tangible. No wonder I was always tired and never wanted to do anything lugging all that extra around.

I don't have anything else to add, just wanted to tell you stop and smell the roses. You've lost 54 pounds since 2/1! That's amazing! That's more than a pound a week average thus far. FWIW, I started about the same time and am down 45 pounds.

A quality salon does single use only. I watch the waxer get everything ready. She has a warmer, but each "can" of wax is small and intended for single use. She also doesn't double dip, she has disposable wooden applicators and I've watched her get those ready too. The nurse in ME can't figure out how she does all this with…

Links to the medical articles? Scientists can't even agree on the purpose of pubic hair...trapping pheromones? Warmth? Me personally, I have had about a dozen yeast infections in my adult life. I have had ZERO since I started waxing. I seem to be prone to UTI's, but have had ZERO since I started waxing. I know that's…

I think getting my eyebrows waxed hurts more. Honestly. The first time is the worst, but still not all that bad. I was scared the first time and actually took some of my vicodin about an hour before. I would not have had to do that at all. I've gone to two different salons in my area, and there was a huge difference in…

42DDD when I started, currently 38 band size, but my CUP size went up as a result. I have lost very little up top, currently they just look a little deflated :-( Thankfully, I still look okay in a good bra. Personally, my favorites are the caccique bras from Lane Bryant. I love the thicker, formed cups so there's no…

BTDT! There were a couple of things that helped me. First, acknowledgement: I wrote it out and posted it on a message board I frequent, as well as here. There was something about simply admitting that this was hard that I found very helpful. Second, I thought about where I would be in a year if I stopped. Since I've been…

Define "low carb" I'm certainly eating less carb overall, so it's lower carb than what got me to 252 pounds! No, I'm not a low carb dieter.

It's a mask that helps keep the airway open while the person sleeps. It's for people with sleep apnea. Many morbidly obese people have sleep apnea. You'd have to have a sleep study done to confirm this. Snoring is a symptom of apnea.

I'm very familiar with this :-) The last time I lost weight and stalled in the 170's (down from the 230's) I got frustrated and quit. Since then, I have spent some time in therapy and I think I've figured out a few pitfalls. 1. I really just want to be healthy--for life. I have a number of familial risks, in fact, my…

Kids will eat when they are hungry enough. Older kids will hold out a lot longer, but when they are hungry they will eat, or they will find a few things in the new healthier choices that they like and start to fill up on that until they are ready to try new stuff. Having raised a lot of teenagers, and a handful of younger…

I've noticed this too! It drives me crazy.

I second the calling of BS. I also agree that Dr. Oz is a quack.

Agreed. If your hips are that bad (OP) look into a hip replacement. Honestly, posters like you are frustrating. You ask for help, and then you don't want it. Everyone is wrong and you have all the answers. Well, since you already have them, hats off to you, and good luck. I'm 5' tall, and have no intention of ever…

I think this is waaaay out of the scope of the general boards here. I'm wondering if there's a compulsive overeating sub group here? It sounds to me like you could use some professional help. Please don't take that wrong. You are worth treating your body with love and kindness, and you can find other ways to sooth yourself…

No advice on how much to rest, but I have a chronic tendonopathy in my right foot. It flares up at times to the point where I'm in tears. I do take pain medication daily for it, and about once a year I end up with a medrol dose pack. I do take NSAIDS as needed as well as the other pain meds. Without them, I couldn't work…

My goal was 3 miles per workout. I don't run (yet...who knows what the future will hold), but I do walk 3 miles at a time on the treadmill, with an incline of 5%. Maybe you just want to make that 3 miles the goal. If you're too tired at the end of the 30 minutes to keep running, walk the rest of the distance, and try…

Thank you, this is exactly what I needed to hear tonight. I often forget that this is exactly what I did for my cardio routine, and have had a very hard time motivating to do strength exercise because "I don't know where to start". I think you just told me! Thanks.

www.enell.com It is on the pricey side, but being pain free is worth it.

Your wife would be very, very proud of you.

I find that exercise helps with cramps, although it's a bit of an effort to get off the couch in the first place when I have cramps.

I did a lot of cleaning on Friday--two bathrooms, all the floors, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing floors, cleaning out the freezer and the kitchen cupboards, and shampooing the carpeted areas of the house. Took me about 3 1/2 hours total. I was shocked at the mileage I racked up on my Fitbit--over 3 miles. It CAN be very…

I just got mine this week, and it's great. Once you're all set up (pretty easy, really) you're going to love it.

Un diagnosed diabetes is characterized by high blood sugar, fatigue, excess thirst, and frequent urination. HYPOglycemia, low blood sugar, is what you are describing. Diabetics get low blood sugar when they have too much insulin in their bodies in relation to their blood sugar. Another cause could be because of an…

About a year and a half ago, I literally had a car full of teenage/young adult women slow down, laugh and point at me. As in, they rolled down the windows and pointed and laughed. I now have a treadmill.

1. Everything in moderation 2. Eat the nutritious stuff first. IOW, if there is some junk food that I want, I will eat the healthy foods first, and if I have calories left over I will indulge. 3. With #2 being said, I do plan treats into my day, as I have had a tendency to go to extremes (very low fat, very low cal, NO…

Is it possible? LOL, I got drenched walking to my van this afternoon. Literally, my shirt needed to be rung out. On the upside, I was able to jog to the van and didn't get out of breath.

Hi Karen, feel free to send me a friend request. I'm across the border :-)

Well, I can't say that it's hard. I do water aerobics with several of the women I work with, and although it was hard to let them see me in a swimming suit the first time, I'm glad it didn't let it stop me. Their human too, with flaws just like me :-) It's my golf game that's humiliating to me :-) I hope you won't let it…
