I agree. Recovery is important. Make sure you eat enough carbs before a long run to fuel your body and enough protein immediately afterwards to help your muscles recover. I find that I'm not always hungry enough on long run days to eat back all the calories I burned, but I make up for it in the following days when my…

I'm definitely a pear too! I'm about a size 2/4 on top and 8 on bottom. And the shape becomes more exaggerated with weight gain…my top absolutely refuses to store any fat. I think we just have to focus on getting body fat percentage down, which will help reduce the size of our "storage" areas. Even when I was my normal…

brownie? and cake? and ice cream? please remember to log that in your diary.

this made me giggle. Sadly, I can't relate to anyone's boob problem. 20 lbs over my happy weight and still no sign of life on this chest!! I used to dream of having breastfeeding boobs…but now I'm thinking that when the day comes, I'll still have the chest of a 14 year old. Why does it all have to go to my thighs?!…

Don't give up hope! I didn't lose a single bit for three weeks. I think it actually took a week for me to show the gain from everything I had consumed during the weeks leading up to my fresh start. I think it's pretty normal for the number to go up slightly before it goes down. Don't even pull the scale out for at least…

I'm American, living in Dublin, and I love my black & white puddings! Sadly, I always pull out the scale when I slice my piece. Miss the days of just being able to throw a few sausages and one of each pudding onto my fry! It's great to have another face in the same time zone…add me as a friend!

I'm shooting to lose a pound per week, and my goal is set at 1390. I try to work out 5-6 days a week just so I can eat back my exercise calories…otherwise I'd starve and go crazy! This number seems to work when I can control myself enough to stay under. Good luck!!

amazing change. you look incredible. keep up the great work, girl!

haha, trust me, you wouldn't love him so much when he comes home wasted and reeking of alcohol...then you have to sleep next to him and whatever "odors" his body releases all night. haha! but yes, he can be pretty fun and lovable while getting to that point. lol. I'm hoping my Irish guy doesn't get *too* drunk this year.

love this!!! I'm also running that morning…10 miles. That should buy me a few pints! And I agree, beer tastes even better after a long run!

I tend to cheer internally for people I see running! especially women, and most especially if she looks like a woman trying to lose weight. I love sitting by the window in my living room and watching the runners go by. My boyfriend laughs because I'll say things like, "yeah, you go girl!" or "keep it up girly, kick butt!"…

I'm dealing with the same here in Ireland…it's crazy windy right now! Especially along the sea where I usually run. Some days, I let it make me mad, but I've decided recently to look at it as a challenge. When the wind starts pushing me backwards, I just yell in my head (and occasionally outloud much to the distress of…

love this. you're amazing! :flowerforyou:

haha!! I love the potty squats! I'm sometimes guilty of toothbrush squats. :D

Don't restrict yourself too much when it comes to the food and wine, instead…earn it! Whenever I'm on vacation, I do so much walking and so many other physical activities that I wouldn't normally do, it usually balances out the extra eating or drinking. A beach house is the perfect location to wake up a bit earlier than…

mmm…turkey on wheat with lots of veggies and just a tiny bit of reduced fat mayo. definitely try Subway. It's a great alternative to normal fast food and makes figuring out the calories really easy.

Good for you, girl! That's the way to do it. And trust me, everyone gets intimidated at the gym at some point…and we shouldn't! Honestly, I think most people who are serious about working out don't even notice what or who is around them. Keep up the great work. The weights and treadmill will be a major addition to your…

I'm an American, living in Ireland. I don't have the language challenges that you're facing, but I can relate to trying to lose weight without the familiar foods. And it's so difficult to resist temptation when you want to try all of the new food and drink you're being exposed to. Add me as a friend!! I'm hoping to take a…

I LOVE THIS!!! I'm also a runner, and I can't tell you how much it would mean to have my mom go on a run with me. She could definitely lose the weight to make it happen, but she also has a spinal injury that would probably prevent her from ever running. :( Your son will be so excited when you make this happen. That's a…

marry him. he's the one.

haha, google it and miss out on this interesting string of conversation? no way! Love the OP! I'm always wondering this too. I grew up with lbs, but now I live in Ireland and am presented with either stones or kg. I'm so confused, haha. I just know that regardless of how you measure it, I need to lose weight!!…

Unless you are really hardcore, I think in order to drink coffee black, it absolutely must be great coffee. I stopped drinking drip coffee when I moved to NYC, and it's even easier now that I live in Europe because it basically doesn't exist here. I don't think the brand of coffee matters as much as how it's brewed. What…

I'm sure all of my ideas have already been shared, but I adore pumpkin and can't help responding. I use it in everything! I also have three cans in my pantry and should use them soon. What have I been waiting for? Anyway… add a tablespoon to yogurt for breakfast with some cinnamon, nutmeg and a sprinkle of granola…yum! add…

hey 5'6'' ladies! I'm 145lbs and trying to get back to low 130s. Please add me as a friend! I love the support of MFP. xx

AMAZING!! Your hard work is paying off. Way to go, girl!!! You look beautiful.

And yet Tesco is selling *real* pancakes this week. I don't get it. If crêpes are pancakes, what does that make pancakes? And it isn't just "across the pond" that calls them that…considering it is a French word and they originated in Brittany!

Welcome! Best of luck to you on your journey. Add me too if you like!

This is a very sad situation! First of all, I'm very sorry to hear the future MIL is ill. I really hope that the tests will bring news of something that's easily fixed. Second, I'm sorry for your daughter and son-in-law to be…they must both be stressed, worried, and upset about the whole situation. If I were in your…

Do try it! It's amazing for breakfast. I usually have yogurt, a drizzle of honey, sprinkles of cinnamon, blueberries and granola. YUM!!

I love this stuff! Love it on baked potatoes, and it's equally as amazing on baked sweet potatoes. I've been thinking about trying it in potato salad instead of mayo. And if that works….why not make tuna salad and chicken salad with it? YUM!!! I'm getting hungry. :D
