Thanks everyone! I'm on keto primarily for health reasons, though I have enjoyed the weight loss benefits! I really enjoyed that linked post as well.

Those sound good! I've been making do with vodka soda mixes....but I'm a beer and wine girl at heart! I got excited hearing about low sugar wine!
-
I take sugar free metamucil (doctor recommended for digestion) drink an obscene amount of water, and supplement with an electrolyte mix geared for keto.

Im on day 7 of the whole30 program. It's not primarily for weight loss as it is designed to be a cleanse (but the weight is coming off quick). I second what pp said. I feel AMAZING. i have more energy than I ever remember having. And I didn't catch the latest cold that knocked the rest of my family out. As to sweets, by…

I will see my chiropractor regularly for spd this pregnancy. I'm only 16 weeks and I feel it starting to flair, which is terrifying. With my last pregnancy I really enjoyed rowing a d even got a home rowing machine.

I just put my calories to maintenance, and add 300. I don't stress about the number itself, and eat when I'm hungry/craving something! Mainly I use it to help me identify bad habits....namely my first trimester habit of eating doughnuts or breakfast tacos or kolaches every morning on my way to work! Or realizing that my…

Congratulations to you too!! I'd love to follow you as well if that's alright? (my reference to the carby prenatals is because I take the gummy ones...unfortunately they are the only ones I can keep down!)

Absolutely!

Hi all!! I'm expecting a July 25th baby (#2) and am hoping to stay healthy this go round! Are there any other low carbers out there? Obviously, I won't be seriously limiting them (especially since I can only stomach rice and milk right now) but I would like to keep them down.

My doctor is cool, (a family friend), and actually encouraged my "low carb start" as one of the most effective ways to lose weight. Obviously, weight loss is no longer my goal, I just wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts on low carb or keto while pregnant. While I plan on staying healthy, and avoiding the whites…

Thank you! I do hope to stay low carb this time. I feel so good while low carb, I can't see how it could be bad for a pregnancy...even though I will be ditching 100% the artificial sweeteners. I am just

I'm not sure what program/goals you have set, but by peeking at your diary it looks like you have your carbs set higher than many doing the lchf diet. I know that, for me, the higher carbs, the hungrier I am and the more fatigued I feel. You could make a few easy changes to cut your carbs even lower, i.e., you could…

I always starve my first two-ish days on a low carb diet. I feel like I just can't get enough to eat. Happily it is very short term and I quickly transition to rarely being hungry. I've never experienced the sweats, but I do know that cutting out carbs can make your hormones do crazy things for a bit until they level out.…

Okay, I'm back after missing Week 2! We had a family destination wedding, and lets just say that not only did I fall off of the wagon, I let it get a few miles in front of me. I finally caught it and am back on track. Unfortunately, I don't see myself getting to my old goal weight with this setback, so I might need to…

Thank you!

I didn't know I could order heavy whipping cream from Starbucks. This made my day! I love the breve (from other coffee shops, I bet Starbucks could do it too). It's a shot of espresso and steamed heavy whipping cream. I add a dash of stevia...and top it with whipped cream. Decadent.

I noticed that a serving of Metamucil actually isn't too high carb. I think it was 4 or 5 carbs. I don't have a problem with a low fiber diet though so I haven't needed to utilize its "assistance."

I made it! Thanks for letting me gripe here.

That sounds delicious! I'd love your stew recipe!

I'm all in! I've got a "Biggest Loser" family competition with a Thanksgiving day weigh in, so I need all the extra help I can get. I just saw Kerrygold in my local HEB yesterday! Is bpc really better with it? I've just used coconut oil in the past.

Thanks everyone. I needed just that encouragement!

I'm just trolling after stopping by the chats to whine about my own initial stall, but I will say (for when you do resume your wine after this month) I satisfy my wine loving heart mixing mineral water and white wine. 5oz mineral water to 1 oz Sauvignon Blanc is actually pretty tasty and refreshing.

Ha. I didn't even realize it was Canadian Thanksgiving. That all makes a lot of sense (no shockers there). I guess I'm just comparing it to my last time dieting when I saw the scale start an instant and downward movement. My "cheating" was after the weigh in...and was largely discourage driven (the cheesecake wasn't even…

I think they don't recommend ketosis while pregnant, but staying low carb is still great! If I remember correctly, my doctor wanted me to eat in the 50-100g of carbs from fruits and veggies....then even more in the third trimester!
