  • Thanks everyone for all the positive feedback. :) I will say, I went a little above and beyond today. I still only walked, but usually the highest pace I go to is 3.3 - 3.5 and today I went all the way up to 3.7 which brought my heart rate in to its peak zone for a major part of my time on the treadmill. I will continue to…
  • I agree. I thought I had a kidney infection sometime late last year and quit drinking carbonated drinks period for at least 4 months. Now I have a soda occasionally. If we're out to eat or maybe out running errands. I dont have artificial sweeteners so I don't do diet or zero. I iust try to manage it so I can enjoy one now…
  • Piyo is awesome! Do not get discouraged if you feel you suck at it. Lol Like everything else practice makes perfect. You will love how strong and balanced you become. :)
in Piyo... Comment by bcruz313 May 2015
  • Exactly. That is how I am feeling. I dont want to go to the gym and then burn out or lose momentum the minute life gets in the way. With 3 kids it happens. This is sustainable.
  • I absolutely think it has effected your weightloss and how you feel. Do not get me wrong, I LOVE soda (here in Texas we call it Coke whether it is, it's Big Red, Dr. Pepper...they are all cokes. lol). I have a baby picture where I'm sitting on a blanket outside and there is a bottle next to me with Big Red in it. This…
  • That's awesome. I have been walking for a while and throwing in other types or workouts here and there, but just this week I have really gotten serious about my eating and have started logging. Since you do Piyo, you're probably familiar with 21 Day Fix. I use the containers to portion out my food but I've kinda tweaked…
  • Thanks. I do try to do a dvd in the morning before I eat anything which is usually some kind of Beachbody dvd i.e. T25, Insanity, 21 DF, 21 DFX. I am a dvd workout kinda girl. lol If I have time I might try to get a mile or 2 in after. Then, I will have my Shakeology after I'm done working out for the morning to recover.…
  • http://www.lunchbots.com/ Lunchbots has some really excellent containers. I have a soup container also for mac and cheese or soup. There is another brand I also have as I got it in a monthly Citrus Lane box and loved it. It fits in my daughter's lunch box perfectly except one is a little bigger so I have to let the handle…
  • Thanks everyone. I like hearing your own experiences. It is very encouraging. I've always felt like I needed to go hard to get results but I'm learning that isn't always true. :)
  • I just wanted to add, you don't need a gym membership to exercise. At home workouts can be just as if not more effective than going to the gym. If you need guidance try some workout dvds. The best part is you are home. Your gym is open 24 hr. ;)
  • There are some zumba videos on utube you could try. Yes it absolutely works! Be consistent with it (I havent been lately) and you will see results. The calorie burn is unbelievable and it's fun!
  • I make my own lunchables so to say. I hate processed cheese and prepackaged lunch meats gross me out. I only have one I have to pack (my older boys eat in school) and she is in preschool so she only goes 3x per week. I will make her almond butter and jelly sandwich pockets. I bought a pocket maker on Amazon. So I will make…
  • Busted. No, I do not have any obvious knee issues. I just remember in the past having a bit of knee pain when I did my walk/jog intervals and just pushing past it until I lost some of the weight. So...yes, I know I should probably do the same again and it will be fine even though that was some years ago. I guess I am just…
  • Thanks everyone! I am glad to hear other people enjoy walking too. As I get older I just don't feel like I have to exert myself as much to get a burn. Since I do vary the speed I do feel like I get a decent burn. Unfortunately I have gained a few pounds since the last time I worked out consistently so I just feel like…
  • If I am logging my exercises that do count steps like walking and zumba, then am I adding calories burned that didnt actually get burned? I log from runkeeper and it passes the information to mfp.
  • Would like to hear from more people on this subject. I was just wondering last night if my adding my treadmill walks manually to runkeeper if I am doubling the calories burned by doing that since I had my Fitbit on. I like tracking my activities in runkeeper because I like seeing the statistics etc but I don't want to be…
  • Do you date your portions? How long is too long to sit in your freezer?
  • Ha! Color coded shakes and preworkouts! Love that idea too! I have 2 teenage sons who are in sports and workout etc. too. One leaves his protein shake at school because he is too lazy and would probably forget it if he did it the night before or that morning. However, I'll bet if I had measured out powders in shaker cups…
  • I love this idea of prepping veggies for the week and then throwing them in the crockpot at the end of the week! Thanks, I am going to try it next week.
  • I make a whole package of chicken breasts on my George Foreman grill or baked in the oven and then freeze each one individually. Then I have quick lunches. :) I will also separate frozen broccoli in to portions so my husband and I can just grab a bag and throw in our lunchbox. If you do it per week you can just put it in a…
  • I agree with a lot of what is said but I will elaborate a tiny bit: Portion control - I find half the plate of veggies and 1/4 - 1/3 of protein and starch/carbs no more than twice a day. Could be a slice of bread, brown rice, potato sweet potato. no more than twice and no more than 1/4 of the plate. I don't count fruit as…
