  • I have started meal prepping for the past couple weeks for my husband and I. If I don't, he eats fast food for breakfast and lunch which both gets costly and packs on the pounds. I didn't know he was doing this, but once I found out I started prepping our meals. It turns out, I suppose because I an prepping for two, I only…
  • Thank you both, these are very helpful tips. I do have an appointment with a nutritionist to get more streamlined information which I am excited about. However, in the meantime I'm just getting frustrated trying to find info on my own. It's a bit overwhelming. I like the idea of counting GL instead of GI and keeping it at…
  • I take it when I remember in my green tea because it is supposed to help reduce blood pressure. I have found it to work. Never felt hungry though.
  • I personally log my dvd workouts in to mfp even though I have my fitbit synced to it. Mfp will adjust your calories burned.
  • I need to try this. I prefer homemade hummus too but I've never actually made it. You can taste the difference, for example, from a restaurant or deli when it is homemade. I hadn't noticed not all store bought brands have tahini though. I prefer Pita Pals brand to Sabra. Sabra to me taste too commercialized or packaged.…
  • From squatting I am usually sore in my quads and my butt. It makes it hard to sit down. Are you sqeeuzing your glutes?
  • I'd say it's not for everyone. I liked it. So, I told my son to try it. He is much more fit than I am. He's been doing football since 7th grade and is now a senior and has been conditioning for it etc. since then. His diet is not on point as with a lot of teenagers but he is getting ripped. But I wouldn't tell him that.…
  • Favorite is red bell pepper with hummus. Also plain greek (has to be nice and thick for me), 1/4 c blueberries and 1 tbsp mini chocolate chips. Crunchy veggies doused with seasoned rice vinegar and some red pepper flakes if you like spice. I also saw a recipe on fb for bell pepper nachos with corn, black beans and cheese.…

  • I personally use steel cut oats. I make a few servings ahead and put in mason jars so it's easy to grab. Heat and reconstitute with a little water, milk or almond milk. Easy to mix whatever you want like nuts, fruit or granola.
  • Why shouldn't I do zumba? I only do it 1-2x per week. Never on the days I get on the treadmill unless I just walk.
  • I'd have to agree. Before getting my Charge HR I had a Flex. While doing cardio on a machine or walking thru the grocery store for that matter, I'd just loop it thru my shoe and that worked well. That was at the suggestion of Fitbit customer service. Should work for Charge also.
  • Gotcha. I'm not totally new to running, but it's been a while since I've done it consistently. I've mostly been doing zumba or dvds for the past year.
  • I don't love or even like running. I wog. I lose weight with and prefer jogging intervals. I do not go above 5 mph and will walk at 3 mph. I don't even follow c25k or anything like that. I follow my own. Right now I'm currently doing 1min jog/4 min walk. Cardio is anything that gets your heart rate up. Believe me, 1 min at…
  • The calculation the program tells you is supposed to factor in the calories you burn doing the workouts. Not only during your workout but the afterburn as well. If you are following the meal plan, I would go by the program calculation. Mfp cannot give you lower than 1200 cals. That is the minimum. I think mfp's…
  • I think Sprouts has the best deals on produce and it is good quality. With that said, I typically shop at Kroger but last grocery shopping decided I was not buying junk and did my full grocery shopping at Sprouts. Didn't even use coupons like I usually do at Kroger and spent between $30- $50 less. You can buy healthy foods…
  • I currently have a charge HR, but used to have a Flex. I loved the Flex. However, I also wore a Polar for HR when I worked out so when the Charge HR came out it made more sense. My husband has the Surge which also has a GPS and shows text messages. The CHR only shows you who's calling. I got the CHR because I rarely…
  • If you are actually anemic I have found the best thing is to take an iron supplement. No caffeine within 1-2 hrs of taking it. Preferably on an empty stomach and with vitamin c for faster absorption. Spinach and dark greens are a good source. How about the mollasses with oatmeal?
  • So, what is that you are looking for? A ST routine? Other cardio machines to use instead of treadmill? Check out Pinterest. They have a lot of different workouts and routines, you might find one you'd like to try.
  • I'm also a coach (mainly for the discounts). I've started doing 21 day fix workouts again because I like the variety. I've had 21df since last year and I have several other BB dvds.
  • We joined an Anytime Fitness near us almost a year ago and they offered a free session with a trainer and then at the end the trainer will go over prices if interested. I think.it was standard so if it wasnt offered, you should ask about it. Are you looking for a stength training routine?
  • I do actually like Under Armour but it is expensive. Last year I got a little bonus at work and decided to splurge on some yoga shorts and a wicking top. Love it but I don't love the price. Most of my other stuff comes from Target. I have found most of their sports bras comfortable and hold up well.
  • I would also recommend 21 df or even 21 df extreme if you are already on a clean diet and are not necessarily a beginner at exercising. Either way, Insanity, Piyo or 21 df are great programs to tone up. At the point your at, it is your nutrition that is going to help you drop those last 10 lbs not your fitness regimen.
  • I don't like the taste of sugar substitutes and am not willing to deal with the side effects they give me. So, I just use real sugar (organic when possible), honey or sometimes agave depending on what I have available. I feel like moderation is the way to go.
  • I updated both my phone and mfp and reset my Fitbit. When I completed my diary today I was told if every day is like today in the next 5 weeks I'd weigh 15 lbs more than I do now. :/
  • Is that what is going on? My Fitbit calorie adjustment is ridiculous! On Monday it was like 12,000 cals! That is not a typo. Lol
  • I am about to un sync it and manually add calories for exercise if it isn't corrected soon. Such a bummer though. I liked them being synced!
  • Absolutely. I'm not a crazy exercise person (well sometimes lol) but I love it! I LOOOVE all the tracking data! I'm totally a numbers person. I like being able to see how much sleep I actually get. You'd be surprised. I also like to see my heart rate. I have a Polar hrm I used with my Flex but having the Charge HR is so…
  • I love doing dvds at home. I have several but one of my favs is 21 day fix. 7 different videos so it doesn't het boring and you work different muscle groups. Both the fix and fix extreme versions have modifiers. Also pinterest has a lot of different routines so you can find one you like. Zumba is also fun a great calorie…
  • I would also recommend 21 Day Fix. It is a great program, there are 7 workouts one for each day of the week which includes cardio, upper and lower stength training, yoga and pilates. There is a girl modifying most of the moves which is wonderful. The meal plan and portion containers are very easy to adhere to (unless your…
  • That is awesome you are so close to your goal! I usually watch Netflix while on the treadmill as well. I love walking outside also but I usually workout while my daughter is still sleeping in the morning or later at night after it is dark out so treadmill is better for me at those times.
